Free Stuff Friday: Teese Vegan Cheese Giveaway! October 9, 2009

Posted by Tiffany Wright at October 9, 2009 9:29 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 243 ) | TrackBack If you haven't seen the video from PETA's investigation into a Pennsylvania Land O' Lakes supplier, watch it now. The cows at this dairy factory were living in the most disgusting conditions. I'm talking living and sleeping in their own feces and suffering from serious health problems like pneumonia, skin infections, and parasites to name a few. Severe infection of the teats and pus-filled pockets, or abscesses, were also common—some even burst and oozed pus as the cows were being milked! If you didn't believe the kind of funk lurking in that gallon of milk before, see for yourself.

Thank goodness for soy! This week, you can win a pack of dairy-free Teese Cheese—Mozzarella-style. Teese Cheese, made by the Chicago Soydairy, has a taste and texture that makes it one peta2's favorite vegan soy cheeses and it's trans fat and gluten free! That's right my friends—we give you nothing but the best.

For your chance to win one of five packs of the uber popular Mozzarella-style Teese Vegan Cheese, all you got to do is comment below with what you'd make with the cheese if you won. The five people whose comments sound the most delicious, will be chosen as our winners. Comments must be received by October 16 and the five winners will be notified on October 19.

Veggie Guide to Going on Vacation July 15, 2008

Posted by Lara Sanders at July 15, 2008 3:05 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 2 ) | TrackBack

me.jpgThis Friday I'm off to Hilton Head Island for some much needed vacation time. Right before any trip I take, I do a lil' research about the vegetarian-friendly restaurants that are going to be there (there is no way I'm going to be stuck with just side salads).

The first thing I do is check out Happy Cow, which is a great resource for finding vegetarian restaurants just about anywhere in the U.S.

The next thing I do is Google the name of the place where I'm going and the word "vegetarian" (i.e. "Hilton Head Island" vegetarian). You will have to do a little scrolling, but you usually find some good resources and reviews.

Another vacation tip is to take a cooler packed with veg snacks. Since I'm staying at a beach house with a kitchen, my cooler is going to be filled with Tofurky brats, Boca burgers, vegan cheese, and tons of fresh fruits and veggies that we'll get at farmers markets on the drive down—yay for Georgia peaches!

Are you headed on vacation this summer? Comment below with where you are going and include any tips you have for finding veggie food on the road.

xoxo- Lara
