![]() |
It's getting closer by the day ... and this year we have our Facebook event page, and our brand new huggin' Nugget video to make it even easier to get the word out.
This year, peta2 wants to know who the most huggable vegetarian is! We've got new pledge sheets that you can print and take to school with you on September 25, 2009!
Think you've got what it takes? The person who hugs the most people on Hug a Vegetarian Day, signs em' up, and gets their pledges to peta2 by October 21, 2009, will win a Hug a Vegetarian Day prize pack that includes a peta2 Hug a Vegetarian shirt, PETA's Vegan College Cookbook, and a 4 pack of peta2 buttons. You can either mail your pledge sheets to us at peta2, 501 Front Street, Norfolk, VA 23510, or scan them and send them to StreetTeam@peta2.com! Easy enough, right? Winners will be chosen and notified by October 23rd.

Human BBQ at Princeton University! November 21, 2008
Posted by Ryan at November 21, 2008 3:11 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 8 ) | TrackBackAs frequent visitors to peta2 may already know, the Princeton Animal Welfare Society is the faaaantastic student group at Princeton University.
This week, the group wanted to organize a demonstration to highlight their "College Veg Pledge" campaign, which encourages students to go vegetarian for one day, to see how simple and delicious it is!
They knew it had to be attention-grabbing, since Princeton students are a busy bunch. Did someone say "human BBQ"?

The event was perfectly timed to coincide with an excellent opinion piece written by group members in the student newspaper, The Daily Princetonian, so that everywhere students looked, they saw something about vegetarianism!
Looks like someone must have checked out our "How to Start a Buzz on Campus" video... :)
Go PAWS, go!

Free Stuff Friday: The Cafepress Design Contest Tee! June 5, 2008
Posted by Patricia at June 5, 2008 1:48 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 146 ) | TrackBackCongratulations, Jessica Jagmin of Windsor, Ontario, Canada! You're the grand prize winner in peta2's Cafepress design contest!

Jessica's adorable "Vegetarians Keep the Beat Alive" design was chosen out of hundreds of submissions, which also included dissection, spaying-and-neutering, fur, wool, and KFC to name a few, to become peta2's newest tee shirt.

Isn't it the cutest? Perfect for spreading the word that animals are not food. Hopefully once these shirts hit the streets, even more people will be inspired to stop eating flesh.
Want to win one? Thought so, and it just so happens we've got one tee to give away so just comment below with your tee shirt size and what you think is great about being veg. Simple, huh?
This contest ends June 13, 2008 and the winner will be chosen and notified by June 20, 2008.
Just so you know...by commenting here, we're taking that as acknowledgment that you've read and agreed to our privacy policy.
Also by commenting, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
Good luck!

P.S. A lot of time and hard work went into each design and they were all wonderful, honest, so a huge "Thank you" to everyone who entered the contest. It was exciting to see just how many talented, compassionate people are out there. And picking the finalists really was very difficult; I wasn't lying.
Since there's only one winner, you should probably head on over to the peta2 Cafepress store and order your "Vegetarians Keep the Beat Alive" tee today, just to be on the safe side.
Tobey Maguire Thinks Leather Stinks March 7, 2008

Apparently, upon entering his home, his guests are asked to check their leather belts, shoes, and bags at the door. Makes perfect sense to me, I mean it's his house and if he isn't eating or wearing animals, why should visitors be able to? And leather stinks. Who wants that horrible stench of death filling up their house? Not me.
If only every leading man was as kind as Tobey Maguire...I'm bummed that there isn't another Spiderman sequel to look forward to this summer. I loved watching him swing from webs and battle crime—and his beautiful co-star James Franco—but I think The Cider House Rules is still my fave Tobey flick. Tobey Maguire + the always gorgeous Charlize Theron = good.
