Why Is Delia's Supporting Ringling Bros? August 27, 2009

I used to be all about Delia's. Last summer, some peta2 staffers and I went to Richmond for the day, and we most definitely made sure to stop by the Delia's store, which is why I'm all the more disappointed that the clothing company is selling a Ringling Bros. tee that proclaims the animal-abusing circus to be "the greatest show on Earth."

PETA contacted Delia's CEO to let him know that Ringling beats animals, separates mother elephants from their babies, and chains elephants for up to 100 hours at a time—and even sent a link to our new undercover investigation, but Delia's continues to sell the Ringling tees. It just isn't right that Delia's is selling a tee that promotes such blatant cruelty to animals. I mean seriously—these T-shirts are basically allowing customers to be walking billboards for beating elephants.

Please click here to contact Delia's CEO to ask him to watch our investigation and to stop all sales of Delia's Ringling tee immediately. Do it for those who have no voice—especially Tonka, Luna, and Ringling's other elephants.

Let's make sure Delia's knows that no one is OK with Ringling beating animals!

That's right boys and girls. The celebrity gossip blog popbytes, with their deliciously icky motto, "When culture pops, I wipe it up . . .", has teamed up with our friends over at Neighborhoodies for their new Think Ups project. Jessica Simpson T-Shirt Slogan Contest! June 18, 2008

Posted by Patricia at June 18, 2008 12:15 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 333 ) | TrackBack By now I'm sure you've seen the photos of Jessica Simpson in her "Real girls eat meat" T-shirt. Another classy move and truthfully I wouldn't expect anything less from her.

I wonder if she even understands what it says...remember she did have trouble with that whole tuna vs. chicken concept. Who doesn't know that tuna and chicken are two very different animals? Oh, Jess, you give blonds a bad name in so many ways.

Some are saying she sported the tee in a sad attempt to slight Tony Romo's former flame, the beautiful and talented Carrie Underwood. Yeah, that'll show her. I'm sure it made Carrie re-think all of the reasons she went vegetarian immediately.

Whatever her motivation it's just tacky and sad and shows just how uneducated she is. I mean she seems to adore her little dog Daisy but apparently her compassion for animals stops right there. I think she could learn a thing or two from our new Woof! campaign.

And speaking of the Woof! campaign, how'd you like to get your hands on one of our new T-shirts and send a message to Jessica Simpson at the same time? All you have to do is come up with a new T-shirt slogan for Jessica and post it below along with your shirt size.

As you can see we've, um, doctored the slogan on her shirt just a bit, but now we want to hear from you. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
