Music fur The Killers China Fur

I like The Killers just as much as anyone else. I mean, who doesn't like The Killers? You'd be crazy not to. I can't hear a song like "Mr. Brightside" or the new single, "Human", without wanting to indulge in my own personal dance party. So it goes without saying, that when I saw new promo photos floating around the internet of a band member draped in what appeared to be skinned animals, I was needless to say, bitterly disappointed as I'm sure were many.
What some don't realize is that fur isn't glamorous at all. Animals like rabbits, coyote, and even dogs and cats—are gassed, electrocuted, and even skinned alive, all in the name of fashion. When I see a fur coat, I don't see a fabulous luxury item—I see a graveyard on someone's back!
Now we know the Killers to be caring people (they even donated 100% of their profits from their Christmas single to charity, for crying out loud!) so we decided that there must be a mistake and wrote to the band (nicely, of course!), letting them know exactly what goes into the making of a fur garment, and hoping the fur in the promo shot was a (VERY realistic) faux fur alternative, and asking the band to watch undercover footage of just how fur is made.
The good news? Almost immediately, we heard back from the band's management who let us know that the fur was fake fur, and that the band is completely against fur. So, as it turns out, The Killers aren't glorifying the real killers after all, and I can rest easier when I listen to their fabulous cover of Joy Division's "Shadowplay."
