Free Stuff Friday: The Cafepress Design Contest Tee! June 5, 2008
Posted by Patricia at June 5, 2008 1:48 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 146 ) | TrackBackCongratulations, Jessica Jagmin of Windsor, Ontario, Canada! You're the grand prize winner in peta2's Cafepress design contest!

Jessica's adorable "Vegetarians Keep the Beat Alive" design was chosen out of hundreds of submissions, which also included dissection, spaying-and-neutering, fur, wool, and KFC to name a few, to become peta2's newest tee shirt.

Isn't it the cutest? Perfect for spreading the word that animals are not food. Hopefully once these shirts hit the streets, even more people will be inspired to stop eating flesh.
Want to win one? Thought so, and it just so happens we've got one tee to give away so just comment below with your tee shirt size and what you think is great about being veg. Simple, huh?
This contest ends June 13, 2008 and the winner will be chosen and notified by June 20, 2008.

P.S. A lot of time and hard work went into each design and they were all wonderful, honest, so a huge "Thank you" to everyone who entered the contest. It was exciting to see just how many talented, compassionate people are out there. And picking the finalists really was very difficult; I wasn't lying.
Since there's only one winner, you should probably head on over to the peta2 Cafepress store and order your "Vegetarians Keep the Beat Alive" tee today, just to be on the safe side.
Free Stuff Friday: 'Friend, Not Food' Tee May 16, 2008
Posted by Marta at May 16, 2008 10:21 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 1381 ) | TrackBackOne of my favorite slogans that we use here at peta2 is "(insert animal here) are friends, not food." It's just so cute and catchy. So you can imagine how unbelievably excited I was when I found out that vegetarian snowboarder and artist TJ Schneider designed a 'Friend, Not Food' tee exclusively for peta2.
Check out peta2's Cutest Vegetarian Alive winners, Kelly Anderson and Leonard Sun, modeling the tee:

And we wanted to spread the love, of course, so we're giving two of you lucky readers the chance to score one of these adorable shirts. All you have to do to win is comment with your shirt size and why you think that animals are friends, not food. I think that animals are friends, not food because I love to hug all animals (cats, chickens, and crazy humans alike)—and I certainly wouldn't spend my time hugging potatoes and parsnips.
This contest ends June 6, 2008 and the winner will be chosen and notified by June 13, 2008.

PS - I'm a huge nerd and am actually wearing the tee as I write this blog.
Dropdead's "Meat Sucks" Is Back!! December 4, 2007
Posted by Patricia at December 4, 2007 3:40 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 5 ) | TrackBackAs a special treat, here's a guest blog from Violet over in peta2 UK...
Question: Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, and The Spice Girls—what do these all have in common?
Answer: They've all made (pretty shambloic) so-called "comebacks" over the last few months.
Frankly, we were happy to see the back of this lot then, and nothing's changed. But let's not tar all "comebacks" with the same brush—in my opinion (however much this will damage my "cred") Take That's comeback was nicely done! But, if there's one comeback that everyone is very, very excited about it's Dropdead's highly sought after limited edition "Meat Sucks" shirt!!!
peta2 US ran a contest with friends Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon and Dropdead clothing where Oli designed the acclaimed shirt, all proceeds from the shirt were donated to benefit animals! There were only 300 shirts made at the time and they sold out in a flash. Now they're back with a vengeance and would you believe it, just in time for Christmas!

I've got mine!!!
Happy shopping!

P.S. Apparently Ricky and Bianca are coming back to EastEnders—result!!
P.P.S. Dear Mr. Pret A Manger Man, please bring back those delicious red pepper sandwiches. They're delicious.
