Giant Bunny and Chicken Hit the Streets June 24, 2009

Hello readers!

The peta2 Road Crew loves mixing work and fun, and sometimes it just makes sense to bring out a special helper.

Sure the bunny is extremely adorable and lovable, but we were also out and about in the malls of San Francisco bringing attention to the horrifying conditions chickens suffer through at the farms that supply McDonald's with its animals. The chickens at these farms are dropped into scalding hot water and their throats are slit all while they're still conscious. Everyone wanted to sign our petition against these cruelties!






Our time spent at the malls in San Fran was very successful and only made us more stoked for June 26 in Pomona, CA. What's going on that day? Warped Tour, buddies! That's right, the 15th annual Vans Warped Tour begins this Friday and we look forward to seeing all of you throughout the summer. I'm out for now, but I've got a friend that would like to get you up to date with how the Rise Against tour is going. Take it away, Heather ...

Thanks, Joey! So, Canada was rad, of course. We started our journey in Quebec, a French-speaking province. Our animal-loving friends in Quebec City did us a serious solid and helped us translate the message of the McCruelty campaign into French. Thank you—we love you. We made signs, got mad signatures in favor of McDonald's purchasing their chickens exclusively from slaughterhouses that use Controlled Atmosphere Killing, and totally learned how to save animals en Français.


A couple of days later we wrapped up our Canadian dates in Ottawa, Ontario. It was our first day without rain in a while, so we brought out our friend the chicken to meet some seriously punk rock kids.


Minneapolis, Winnipeg, and Seattle, you're up next! Can't wait to see you at the show!

peta2 National Conferences (Now with Celebrities!) October 2, 2008

That's right! The peta2 National Conferences are quickly approaching (NYC in 9 days!), and we've got some exciting announcements!
