Tell Everyone That Ringling Beats Animals! September 29, 2009
Posted by Rachel-O at September 29, 2009 11:05 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 20 ) | TrackBackDo all of your friends and family, classmates, and even teachers know that Ringling Bros. beats animals with bullhooks? With PETA's recent investigation being e-mailed and forwarded all over the world, we're trying to let everyone know—but we need your help!
Last month, we made it easy for you to post the Ringling investigation on your MySpace page and share it on Facebook, and now we've put together a (super) easy form for you to use to send the video to everyone you know online!
Ringling Bros. steals baby elephants from their moms only to chain them up and force them to perform sad and ridiculous tricks under the big top—who would want to support Ringling if they knew? Tonka, Luna and the other elephants suffering at the hands of Ringling need everyone to know what happens behind the scenes—so use this form to send our undercover investigation to your friends now!
If you're on the peta2 Street Team, we'll give you 500 points for sending the video to all your friends—no need to send us a report, we'll credit your account in a few weeks! It doesn't get much easier than that!

If I had a vegan cupcake for every time someone said they'd stopped eating animals, wearing fur or going to the circus because of a video they'd seen that shocked them, well, I'd be a very happy person. Even though it can be hard to watch, videos like Meet Your Meat, Chew On This, or our undercover investigations into Ringling Bros., suppliers for McDonald's, and others, are really what make people realize that what happens to animals is wrong—and that they can make a difference.
School has started for most of you, and while you're probably dreading spending time in those buses, hallways and classrooms, peta2 has found a new way for you to spend that time really educating your classmates.
Click on the images below to download our videos specially encoded for your iPods (if they play videos!), or iPhones. Once they're downloaded to your computer, just drag or import them into iTunes like you normally would a song.

Ringling Circus Elephants Ringling Bros minute mission Circuses one minute one minute mission
We know how much you all love the minute missions, and who wouldn't? They only take a minute, they help animals, and they earn you points in the process!
That's why we've got a brand-new minute mission for you! All you need to do is share the just-released undercover video that shows Ringling Bros. workers beating and whipping elephants and tigers. It's a great way to spread the word that there is nothing entertaining about the cruel ways animals in the circus are treated. Many people are changed forever after watching an undercover investigation (I definitely was). Challenge your friends and family to watch the video—I'll bet that they'll never want to visit the circus after seeing the footage!
Here are some ways you can help:
1) Embed the video on your MySpace page with the code below:
If you haven't seen the video, please check it out below:
Visit RinglingBeatsAnimals.com
2) Download the video here and then upload it to your Facebook! Once it's downloaded, go to your status box, click the picture of the video camera, and follow the prompts. You can also upload it to your YouTube account!
Be sure to e-mail us at StreetTeam@peta2.com and let us know the reactions you got and please include a link to your page. You'll earn 500 points for each place that you shared the video!
For the animals,
Liz

Ringling Circus Elephants Ringling Bros
From a front page story in the New York Daily News to coverage on CNN and articles on the world's most popular blogs, including Perez Hilton, our new Ringling Bros. investigation has been capturing attention around the globe—awakening the world to the abuses behind the scenes in the "Saddest Show on Earth!"
This much needed attention and call to action against Ringling's routine beatings of elephants with bullhooks is a huge step towards ending the cruelty once and for all, but there is still more we can do. We must keep the pressure on the elephant-beating circus so that one day these elephants can roam free in a spacious sanctuary rather than continue to live a sad, painful, and fear-ridden life with shackles around their legs and bullhooks dug into their skin.
Please write to the USDA now and demand they seize Ringling's elephants. If you've already done this, please share this information with your friends and family.
Also, please remember that if you attend any circus that uses animals, you are supporting the suffering we documented inside Ringling. Please, don't attend animal circuses.
Thanks!

Time To Fight The Circus March 23, 2008
Posted by Pulin Modi at March 23, 2008 10:53 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 12 ) | TrackBackHello! We have a fun and very effective idea for how to help animals who are abused for the circus. Are you up for it?
Basically, there are circuses like Ringling Bros out on the road right now, and these companies are pretty cruel to animals. Before they come to your town these traveling acts spend a lot of money on advertising what we consider is one of the cruelest shows on earth! Sometimes these shady people put free tickets or discount coupons at stores, gas stations, and schools with hope that people will come out to see their show. But we have a plan and need your help!

1) Keep your eye out for those free circus tickets or discount coupons around town.
2) Take them all. (As long as they don't say there's a limit of how many you take, just grab the whole stack.)
3) Mail the tickets to us (peta2, 501 Front St., Norfolk, VA 23510, USA) or email StreetTeam@peta2.com with a photo of them in your trash can!
4) You'll get 1000 Street Team points!
Let's work towards the day where no animals will be chained, beaten, and abused for the sake of entertainment. People need to be taught lessons of compassion, not cruelty, right?
Thanks for making a difference each and every day!
