Pamela Anderson Tries KFC's Classic Vegetarian Sandwich August 5, 2008

Who else was glued to E! Sunday night for the premier episode of Pamela Anderson's new show, Pam: Girl on the Loose? I love that the show opens with her bleaching her own hair! And how cool was it that she was just chatting with the people at her yard sale (all the proceeds came to PETA, btw). I wouldn't expect to see too many celebs of her caliber doing that, which is just one of the many reasons that Pam's so cool. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Yesterday the blonde bombshell was in her home country of Canada where she and some local activists popped into a KFC to try their new faux-chicken Classic Vegetarian Sandwich.

In case you haven't heard, the United Purchasing Group of Canada entered into an agreement with PETA to reduce the suffering of chickens and dramatically improve animal welfare standards. And since these are the folks responsible for coordinating the purchasing of all chickens for KFCs in Canada this is HUGE. (Of course here in the U.S. and in other parts of the world we're still calling for a boycott of KFC until they make simple changes to reduce the suffering...you'd think this would be a no-brainer.)

Pam's been a driving force behind PETA's KFC campaign for the past five years. Thanks to her efforts we've been able to draw even more attention to the hideous acts of cruelty perpetrated by KFC suppliers. So I'm not even the slightest bit jealous that she got to try one of the amazing new sandwiches and I still haven't...OK, maybe I'm just a little bit jealous. Alright, I'm a lot jealous. Hey, Canadians! Ship some of them down here already, why don'tcha?!

P.S. If you're in Canada be sure to try the new Classic Vegetarian Sandwich— you can get a coupon here—but please don't rub it in our faces.

Pamela Anderson and Brigitte Bardot Unite: "Love Seals, Don't Club Them!" February 13, 2008

One thing you should know about blondes, we tend to stick together, especially when it comes to helping animals. And since two legendary blonde bombshells and all 'round inconic sex goddesses are better than one, Brigitte Bardot and Pamela Anderson have now united to call for an immediate end to the Canadian seal hunt.

This afternoon while visiting the Brigitte Bardot Foundation in Paris, Pamela filled in for Mme Bardot (who is ill and can't travel at the moment) and held a press conference publicly condeming the seal hunt and everyone who wears or designs fur.

The famous blondes want everyone to help stop the annual hunt in which hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are bludgeoned to death with clubs and "hakapiks" (clubs with a metal hook on the end), for their skins. BABY SEALS!!!

I just can't understand how anyone could ever witness this and still think it's OK to wear seal fur or any fur for that matter. It's hideous and disgusting and evil.

Please sign our petition asking the Canadian government to permanently end this cruel practice.

P.S. Lots of other folks have spoken out against the seal hunt. Check out the ads that Peaches and Surya Bonaly starred in to show their disgust of this repulsive tradition.

Pamela Anderson Feeds the Homeless November 15, 2007

Pamela Anderson has a heart as big as...Texas. (You thought I was going to say something else, didn't you?) Every time you turn around the blond bombshell is doing yet another good deed for animals. She's consistently reliable, our Pammy, and this time she's not only helping animals, she's helping people too.

Yesterday afternoon, Pam and some of her PETA pals served up an early Thanksgiving feast to homeless families at the Family Promise Soup Kitchen in Las Vegas. Can you imagine having Pamela Anderson serve you Thanksgiving dinner?! That must have been wild.

Pam, who actually went veg when she was a teenager, was inspired to host the vegetarian turkey dinner after watching footage from PETA's recent undercover investigation at a turkey slaughterhouse in North America.

"The holiday season can be especially hard for those who find themselves homeless," says Anderson. "And it's murder on turkeys. With so many healthy and delicious options nowadays, it's easy to have a holiday meal that gives even turkeys something to be thankful for."

The families were treated to an amazing faux turkey breast with wild rice and cranberry stuffing, which was generously donated by the fabulous folks at Garden Protein. We had them for Thanksgiving last year and they are sooo good. Yes, that's so with three o's because they're just that good. Head out to your local Whole Foods to snatch them up.

Check out some pix from yesterday's feast.

P.S. What's your favorite vegetarian Thanksgiving dish? I'm going with Garden Protein's faux turkey and mashed potatoes.

Amazing peta2 Game Featuring Super Chick Sisters August 22, 2007

I remember coming home from a soccer game one fine Fall day about twenty years ago to find my brother upstairs playing Nintendo! Of course, since it was brand new we only really had Super Mario Bros, but that game has left a legacy for anyone who is even remotely interested in any sort of video game these days. Every now and again, games are fun and exciting and give you a semi-legitimate excuse to fight with your siblings and friends.

With some inspiration from the Bros, we decided to come up with the Super Chick Sisters game which has provided me more hours of enjoyment than I care to admit. Ok it's less than one hundred hours, but more than just one. That's all I'm saying!

I'm not a huge fan of video games, but one crack at this and we think you'll be hooked. And who wouldn't want to defeat the Evil Col. Sanders and save Pamela Anderson out of the goodness of their hearts anyway?

Ok, time for me to shut up. Time for you to get to playing. Click here and get ready for a fun time!
