Win a Signed Owl City CD! September 10, 2009

In between releasing a new CD and touring the country playing sold out shows, Owl City (a.k.a. Adam Young) was nice enough to chat with peta2 about his vegetarianism. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, but I think we may have found a serious contender for next year's Sexiest Vegetarian contest!

When did you first start writing songs?
Adam: Two years ago, in a gross moldy basement full of roaches in the middle of nowhere in southern Minnesota.
When were you first introduced to peta2?
Adam: About a year ago.
What prompted you to become vegetarian?
Adam: I've always had a big heart for animals, but never had the heart to do anything about it—until now.
What are some of your favorite vegetarian foods?
Adam: I actually really like those vegetarian Boca Burgers. Lately I've been finding myself sprawled out on my front lawn with my shirt off listening to the pleasant, friendly hiss and crackle of a couple vegetarian patties sizzling away on the gas grill. Pure bliss.
Of all of the major animal rights issues, are there any that are particularly close to your heart?
Adam: Keeping animals out of laboratory testing used for beauty products has always been a big one for me. It makes me shudder just thinking about it. It definitely needs to be stopped.
If a fan were to ask you how to be more involved with animal rights, what advice would you give him or her?
Adam: Eat lettuce, not ham sandwiches.
A man of few words! Check out Owl City's new music video, and be sure to enter the scavenger hunt to win exclusive signed prizes from the video.
If that seems like too much work, you can enter to win a signed CD right here! For a chance to win, just leave a comment with what you would name your city if you were mayor! Two winners will be chosen at random on Wednesday September 16 and notified no later than Friday September 18.
