Comments: Who Is Cutout Dissection.com?

Comments

I think its so great that someone is so dedicated to cutting out disection! Whoop! Whoop!

That is so cool!!! And a great way to raise awareness.
I want to change my name too hahaha

wow thats a really good idea

Well done Cutout! It must be quite difficult with a name like that but it's a brilliant way to raise awareness.

awesomee ;)

I'm so proud of you, daughter!

Yea!

Wow, congrats to you! I've never really heard of anyone going that far, even for a senior exit project. I will say again, congrats, and keep up the good work!

now that is one darn good animal activist

Dude, that's amazing!

That name is going to sound pretty silly to you one day when you get in touch with reality!

Wow......wow.....unbelievable. 19 years old, that will be fun in about two months when she is into something else and wants to change her name to Savetheants.com Maybe she can get her left winger buddies to help her pass a law that makes it illegal to step on ants

Really? This is the dumbest thing I have heard of in months.

What a waste of my tax dollars to allow you to go through the court system to get this done. Not to mention a waste of your own money to accomplish this.

I can say so much more as to why this is just, absurd... but I won't bother.

I am ashamed that you are from my state. That is all I have to say.

I applaud you for taking a stand, but you are going to have an incredibly difficult time traveling overseas with your passport with that name. I am fairly certain you won't be able to travel to some countries too.

You might say, "Well, why would I want to travel to those places anyway??" If you are seriously thinking that, you are just another ignorant American who can't see the big picture.

You will see it's fairly ridiculous and silly one day -- there are MANY MANY better ways to push your ideas and promote the great cause of PETA besides this 15 minutes of fame and the ridiculous name change.

Um - so shes an intern at PETA now? Peta loses credibility on a daily basis - why not endorse immature teens.

Please share with us where you got the information regarding the preparation of the animals. It is not enough to spout urban myths, we need to be able to confirm that the animals are treated thusly.

Congrats! You sure have guts and and a great spirit, dissections sucks!

Wow....all of your comments are supportive. That is boloney. Post the idiots who agree with you, even make up a few good ones yourself, then delete people who wish to express how idiotic this is. Funny how you people fight so hard for freedom of speech, so long as it agrees with your warped self-grandizing point of view.

you are a freek

While I applaud your cause, it is hard to take someone seriously when they do something so ridiculous. You should have taken the time and money you spent to change your name and everything else and put that towards a program to educate the mistreatment of animals. Don't use a name change as your campaign.

That rocks! I protested doing dissections in high school (1990-91). My teacher was cool with it, but he said I still had to be responsible for the material. I said fine, and he gave me handouts and a library pass to go study in the library...that class was just before lunch...you can guess how much library time I put in...

It was great that they were willing to accommodate my beliefs. I fully support your choice in making the name change. Maybe you will change it back later, maybe not, it doesn't matter. I think it's great that you are making a bold statement about what is important to you.

Cheers!
Brother Bailey

so pointless...

Really? Do something more useful with your energy. Plenty of real problems out there that need your spirit.

Wow Josh, it must really suck to be closed-minded and not care about anything except money... you really wouldn't understand a selfless person who's committed enough to a cause to do something beyond what's commonly considered rational, would you?

Way to go Cutout! Dissection is nasty and inhumane... you're an inspiration.

I DONTTHINK IVE EVER IN MY EXISTENCE CAME ACROSS SOMETHING AS IGNORANT AS THIS. OK I AM GOING TO CHANGE MY NAME TO PLEASEGETRIDOFALLLOSERS.COM
SERIOUSLY GET A LIFE.
IF YOU WANT TO SAVE A RAT OR ANY OTHER DISEASE CARRYING SPECIMEN, YOU NEED TO GO ON THE DR. PHIL SHOW, YOU NEED HELP.
I WEEP FOR YOU

Well, I guess if that's what you want to do with your time. I think there are many more intelligent ways to go about raising awareness for something you're against. Hopefully by the time you can vote, or at least by the time you have children, you decide to change your name back. I can't even imagin how embarresed any children of yours would be with a name like that. It's a shame.

While I think that the name changing was a little extreme, I commend Cutout for her passion towards something, Being a teenager myself I know that not many teenagers are so passionate about something, especially not something that is so controversial. So as crazy as it may sound to everyone else, follow your passion Cutout! :)

Most vegetarians and animal welfare advocates have no respect for PETA, since they put their fanatical ideology over practicality and even over factuality. They have no problem contorting the truth if it converts people to their cause. If she wants to champion animal welfare, that's a noble goal. But the way she's going about it, and the organization she's working with, shows that she's not so much an educated advocate as she is an impulsive, hysterical teenager who seriously needs to grow up.

i think there are better ways of making a point than this.

also, what happens when they change the domain name or take down the site?

good grief.

How stupid is this? "Cutout" and all the people like her should do the gene pool a favor and "cutout" themselves. Good luck with that name in the future when trying to get a real life, unless the chickens somehow find a way to pay your cost of living.

you is one sick child

All this talk about animals makes me hungry...I think I'm going to get me some chicken from KFC

Congrats on standing up for such a worthy cause!

Someone should dissect her and see if she has a brain...Human stupidity multiples 10 fold every year!.

People
Eating
Tasty
Animals

Thats the PETA I roll with!!!

Way to take a stand, Cutout. The critics will only make your cause stronger and your message more widespread.

WHAT A FREAKING IDIOT!

To JENNIFER,

I think it's great that you are so involved with a cause you are passionate about. It is my personal opinion that this is a really dumb way to show it, though. Would it have been impossible for you to promote this website and PETA's values with the name Jennifer?

This is absurd. The computer programs you talk about are here bc of dissection occuring. If you don't like it, don't do it. But, don't ruin it for aspiring surgeons, bc you are a crackpot. But, that is what the left is good at huh? Telling me what I can and can't do, what is good for me and not, oh wait that is communism, or is there a difference?

Like a bad tatoo she'll wake up one day all grown up a realize what an idiot she is.

By changing your name to a website address you have successfully accomplished nothing. Congrats. You should have had it tattooed it on you if you really thought it was that important. I'm not dissing PETA you crazy animal lovers. I am an animal lover too. But I sure enjoy a steak while reading all about stupid girls who change their name to something they won't like in a year.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've read in a long time. Why waste time and money changing your name to something as silly as this. I agree with other posts that you could have used your energy promoting your ideas in another way.

wow

wow

wow

how much do you get paid by peta for changing you name?

You are a DORK! Maybe a name change to dork.com

She'll regret that in 10 years.

There are many more ways in taking a stand on what you believe in, this is not one that I would applaude.

I am and have always been in favor of animal rights and what scares me is the fact that animals are dependent on stupid people making stupid decisions.

Frankly, I would advise you to seek help from a trained professional.

Too many haters out there, you raised awarness that's for sure, great job. And for people like Josh, VA sucks anyways this might be the first good story from that state it's not about a kid shooting up a school, or an illegal dog fighting ring, it shows that they're a few good people in that state.

Way to Go!!!!!

I think its great!
AND I am a BIO teacher! Dissections are, for the most part gross and fairly superficial for kids real understanding BUT there is a place for them as student move towards becoming a doctor, etc.

wow....this is so dumb! What a waste of time and energy. I guess you successfully became known nation wide though. If anything, that is all you will accomplish in this. Frogs are Frogs and Mice are Mice. We can spare to lose some for dissection. Get a real life, please!

I fully understand how much you care about animals, it's really good you do, If people like you don't try to protect our dogs an cats who will? they certainly can't protect themselves.
On the name-
People do a lot of things to make a point, and that you surly have. since you have made your point, it may be in your best intererst to go find the extremely broke lawyer you used to change your name and have him or her submit a new petition to the court to have your birth name restored.
Like I said, there is nothing wrong with caring about animals, but the name, that's taking things a little to far. Shame on your parents.

Well it has all been said good and bad. You are very committed good for you follow what you believe. If you want people to take you seriously take yourself seriously. It seemed like a good idea when you talked to your friends about it but when your circle of associations increases your resolve will really be tested. We hope you have to the balls to see this thru. You have chosen a very difficult up hill battle.

Way to go! You are an inspiration for humane education efforts. Your site is thought provoking, but also challenges all grade levels and educators to use tools other than "real animal" dissection. Your name change validates your passion for the cause and provides you with the necessary exposure to spread the word. Best wishes - From a former veggie high school advanced biology student with no rights to elect a dissection alternative......

I did this same thing years ago in junior high (I believe the year was 1980.) I did not dissect anything at all during my years in grade school, junior high, or high school. At the time, my assignments were to draw a diagram instead using a book. In junior high, I suffered a gade letter loss (from an A to a B.)

Good for her! I totally agree.

all the negative posts are by same person, don't sweat it, if everyone would stand for something positive instead of putting others down, this would be a better world, not like what it is...

Jennifer....cut it out!!!!

Keep up the good work! Few people take action to get involved in the things they believe in. I applaud you actions that got policy changed, brought awareness to the cause, and will hopefully get some of these negative comment folks to truly look at the issue (except for the trolls just looking for a reaction)

WAY TO GO CUTOUT! The people who said that you should have used your energy in other ways, would have never heard of your website.
You did a good thing!

this is too much, you are going over board with this, sorry but at this stage you alredy need profesional help
People have to study at school, and this is the best way to learn.

Just curious, does your parents got angry because of changing their last name?

wow. that is possibly the dumbest thing I have herd in a long time. See how you like it in a couple years once you get over this little fad. And good luck getting a real job with that name. Have fun flipping burgers! (or even that)

Naming herself after a domain which she doesn't own is an idea with little foresight. What happens if the domain expires and is bought by somebody who has plans for the domain which conflict with Ms. Dissection.com. I think every young person does things when they are young that seem like a good idea at the time. Oh well.

Wow....At first i thought it was rediculous. But when i saw the actual cause for her plight, i was like, You Go Gurl!!... But i still think changing your name is not going to help all those poor animals..You need $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

I see some negative comments on this page and for me they are only reminders of what extremes good hearted people must go through in this day and age to remind others what a closed mind they really have, the very same people that think they are open-minded. For those of you negative people, I say why don't you help spread the word for her cause, because if more of you did then she would have not had to go to this extreme and the needed change would have already happened a long time ago. Stand your ground if you believe in something and stop letting other people pick up your slack. It's the same reason our country is in the position it's in right now, just look how mean people are these days.
One more thing, take a look and you'll see that her parents are proud of her for what she has done, I am sure there are many of you negative folks that are lacking in your relationships with your parents -- so let me fill you in, when your parents are behind you and your cause, nothing else matters.

I think it's a great thing you have done.

for every 10 people who don't understand or bash you for this, there is one person who will understand. that's what counts.

Respect!!!

chris

I find it interesting that those of you who are not supportive of this girl's decision feel justified in calling her "sick", "stupid", "dork", "ridiculous", "silly"... I'd go on but I think you get the gist.

It seems to be the American Way to insult those whose ways don't mesh with theirs. I may not agree with Ms. Dissection.com's method, but I heartily support her right to express herself in a fashion which calls attention to an issue about which she is passionate.

Weird

seriously?

okay...that's all great and everything...but changing ur name? isn't that going a little far? i mean, really, u don't have to change ur name to get attention like that. i think u might regret it later in life...

I thank you for standing up. i think it is totally wrong to do that. What is wrong with people. I understand there is a need to learn, but not with innocent animals. I am an animal lover. I have 3 cats, that are my BABIES. They mean the world to me and I would hurt a person if they tried to hurt them. keep doing what you are doing and you go girl.

I love animals myself, we have four in our household. But I think the name change was a little over board!!!!

I don't know what is more stupid, you changing your name for a cause or people like us coming and giving you credit by posting!?!?! That was the whole point wasn't it????

What gets to me about this, is that you are our future generation!

Now how am I going to learn how to dismember animals, if the school doesn't provide them for me? I'll just go out in my backyard and find some myself.

I think your passion is outstanding. The mistreatment of animals is so out of control. People close their eyes and make excuses for people that are abusive. It will take the younger generations to stop or change these acts. Thank you for standing up for what you believe in no matter what anyone else may say.

As a high school science teacher, there is nothing wrong in letting people know your beliefs and most schools shouldn't have any problems giving alternating assignments if a student does not want to participate.

However, dissection is necessary to learn about the living world. It furthers our understanding of how life works and leads us to the medical breakthroughs that saves peoples' lives.

wow, congrats, very smart way to get people to ask about dissection,i would have never thought of it! Thats is some commitiment, keep up the good work! =]

Cutout:

There have been a lot of amazing people in the history of the world whose views and actions were viewed as extreme and eccentric. Some people called them nuts or crazy or a variety of rude and ignorant labels -- similar to some of what you're reading here. But your courage and principles to stand up for beliefs, morals and a compassionate conscience put you head and shoulders above those who criticize. It's a shame that people can't use their energy and spend their time in a positive, constructive way. What you've done is create positive change and given a voice to those who have none. Whatever you do, don't let the mindless voices of some of those here overtake the voices that have cried out in pain millions and millions of times, only to be in vain. Why anyone would criticize another and her effort to help animals is something I will never understand. Keep fighting the good fight, Cutout. You stand for something positive, and for that we should all be proud.

Regards,
Don

If I would have known this back when I was in school I would have done the same thing. I am so proud of you for taking a stand in so many ways. I hope this gets out there so everyone will find out about this. My heart is with you and I wish you the best of luck. I am on bord, sign me up...lets take them all down. When I watched that video I got so discusted that I put it on my myspace page right away and I also posted a bulleton to help get the word out. You have my support as well as many others, keep up the good work.

Just because someone eats meat does not mean that they don't care about animals. I personally love animals but I also love meat. Why do you think there are animal farms? Another solution could have been used.

This is silly. Are we going to stop medical students from disecting dead people?

I think this is pretty ridiculous. There are many ways to make a statement and this is just a little extreme. Not to mention a huge disrespect to your parents (even if they say they respect your choice to change your name) who were responsible for your birth name.

Your commitment is inspiring! Making the personal sacrifice to have your name legally changed got you on the Yahoo homepage news (among other places, I'm sure), which should bring tons of people to this site. Hopefully some of them will watch the PETA video about dissection, which was gut-wrenching. To have made such a difference at your young age is nothing short of incredible! I can't wait to see what you accomplish with the rest of your life!!!

As an animal lover myself, I support your cause. Keep up the great work, but I'm not sure by changing your name, you will accomplish anything.

Are you kidding? I hope your friends and family keep calling you Jenny and it really gets on your nerves. I commend your cause but stupid name change

I think that you will regret this. Otherwise, I'd know about 13 teenagers who would gladly rename themselves JonasBrothersLovers.com or I heart Hannah Montana . net or something. Jenny, you'll grow out of it, and then you'll be embarrassed to explain to people your weird name. Come on, it's a good cause, by why the name change? Wear a tshirt! That would spark a nice discussion. Just wait until you're getting married and the preacher says, "do you, John, take thee, cutoutdissection.com to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Not cool.

Do you eat any animal product suck as meat? If so your a hypocrite due to the fact that this is a form of disection.

Very admirable for you to take this stand. Thank you.

If all those idiots would quit focusing on your name change and attempt to understand the real problem of inhumane animal treatment, then and only then will their eyes be opened

Good for you! Our entire biology class in 1972 refused to dissect anything and as a group decided it was better to take an F for that part of the course. The teacher seemed a little bemused that we wouldn't want to dissect but told us we had a choice of an F for the section or doing the dissection. Since we were adamant as well as united, he didn't count that section at all.

After reading all the comments both positive and negative, I can only write to show my support for what you have so creatively and bravely taken a stand for the protection of God's creations.

Just because we are the dominant of the races does not give us the right to abuse our power and inhumanely treat living creatures.

So thank you Jennifer for your bravery! We need more people like you!

"when computer stimulations, diagrams, or 3D models could be used instead"

I don't ever wish to have surgery. But if I have to have one, I certainly don't want to be operated on by surgeons who didn't get to practice on animals when they were in medical schools.

Being vegetarians is one thing, but claiming dissecting animals for knowledge is not necessary is just plain foolish.

When my students ask about the animals they're getting ready to dissect, I just tell them the animals are fullfilling their destinies. They all seem cool with that!

Wow.

I watched the video on cutoutdissection's website.

That's horrible that they do that to animals in this day and age.

yeah, she's totally gonna regret changing her name. Just something someone does, like a spur-of-the-moment thing. She's only nineteen, i'm sure all of us who are older than that regret so many things. Does anyone if this is irreversible? She could've at least donated some money or something, she's already interning, what more?

I totally agree with you and thank you in the name of all animals for your courage. Wish I lived close to you to give you support. Hope that animals'lives are saved by your courage.
YOU ARE GREAT!!!!!

Nice to see someone do something the believe so strongly in. Personally I find dissection pointless in grade school and even high school. I learned nothing from it myself, Just how nauseating the experience was.

If people would take as much time and energy in saving a human life as peta does in saving a animals life this would be a much better world.

I think her idea with trying to stop animal dissection in school is good. I myself have never attended a school where we had to dissect actual animals, cause it was too expensive. But I don't think actually changing her name does any good, other than get attention from the public about her name. Rather than focusing on the main point of stopping animal dissection, the focus goes on her changing her name to a url.Simple as that.

Thanks! I saw your website and have a completely different view of dissections,I used to love to them in highschool but now I see its now worth it. Most kids dont even care and forget what they have done by the end of the year.

Wow. That's quite a decision.

Wait a second...wait for it...wait...for...it...

HAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! ROFL!!! YOU CHANGED YOUR NAME...TO A URL!!!!

LOLOLOL!!!

HAHAHA!!!

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all week...and I've heard a *lot* of ridiculous things this week. If I were your parent, I'd have been laughing like a maniac for at least 10 minutes.

Someone! Ambulance! I'M DYING OF LAUGHTER, HELP!!! LOL!!!!

Yay! I feeel validated! I'm a 44 year old mom of 3. When I was in 10th grade biology in 1980 the teacher said that the next day we would have to dissect a frog or get an "F" for the course. I mulled over this all night long! Imagine my shock when the next day the teacher informed us that the janitor must have mistakenly thrown out the bucket of frogs to be dissected!!!!
I think that planted a seed in me, because about 7 or 8 years later I became a vegetarian. I raised my 3 girls vegetarian, and about 2 years ago, my oldest, age 19, became vegan. Well, that's my story. You are to be commended! Thank you for your bravery and your compassion!
Love, Super Momma!

Way to go Cutout! It's not easy being an animal destined for dissection...or any unethical treatment at the hands off humans. The only way unethical treatment of animals will cease is if more and more people become aware, and change current practices. Ideas originating outside of the box(like yours) can really be effective at fostering awareness amongst the masses.

The mean-spirited ones are the idiots; not to mention narrow-minded.

I think that in a couple years you may regret your decision to change your name to something so strange (Doesn't mean you can't change it back to Jennifer), but I understand why you did it and I give you kudos. I am an animal lover and have seen some really cruel and disgusting people do horrible things to animals. Some of the ignorant comments on here remind me of the mentality of those people. Maybe one day they will feel the pain and terror those poor little critters have been put through. We can only hope.

i thought that "patula does the hula" (or something of that sort) was extreme. i respect your beliefs, but why would you want to just look at internet diseection sites?

ive done both internet dissection and hands-on dissection at school, and i learned best from the latter.

I see a lot of people saying that there are better ways one could support an issue, but nobody has given any ideas. And chances are, those ideas are already being done by other people. This is a novel approach, and the publicity will result in better understanding for the cause.

One person ("zell") said that she should have gotten a tattoo instead, because she won't like it in a year. Well it seems to me that you can change your name back a lot easier than you can get rid of a tattoo.

While I admire this girl's determination to stick to her ethics I just have to comment on the fact that she said about being a vegetarian.."I asked my teacher for an alternative, he said that I could only have it if I went vegetarian for the two weeks leading up to the dissection. I thought that was crazy"..so she thinks it's okay to bash animals in the head, electrocute them and other forms of "humane" killing to eat an animal but not disection one for science? Oookay..whatever.

What exactly is the point of changing your name?? Does it make people change their mind about dissecting animals because you changed your name? There is nothing wrong what so ever with dissecting animals. Science has come along way because of being able to dissect animals. God put animals on this earth for man to rule over. People like you need to get your heads out of your butts and just grow up.

This chick is straight up awesome.

A name is a name. Some celebrities name their kids "Audio Science" "Apple"

Come on at least she's making some use of her name!!

Good for you CutOut!!!!!!

All you people dissing her can diss her as much as you want, but the least you all can do is appreciate the effort that she is at least doing. You lazy ass mofos no no shit. JUst criticize other people's work. Good effort CutOut. Bravo and good luck... Hope Dissections can be cut out juz as your name goes... :) THanks for trying to make a change...

Wow! Thought what you did was Great and Gutsy!
It takes leaders to stand aloft inspite of criticism and negativity and do the right thing! Way to go Cutout! You are a leader!!!

Cutout, Keep being the same beautiful person you are.

Wow, what a lefty PETA idiot! Like totally, I just changed my name to loser.com... fur sure...

I admire you!! I wish more people were like you in this world.

That is awesome. Now, if we can only get the animals to quit killing each other then we will have won. This is not over until ALL carnivores and omnivores become herbivores.

Silly....Silly Girl!

Yep - this demonstrates the maturity I want to see in my potential employees. And your parents' are proud of you for this? Wow.

I disagree philosophically with Cutout's sense of priorities, but hey, it's supposed to be a free country, so why not? I say, if she wants to change her name to cutout, then let her. It's not like it will very negatively impact anyone else, (except perhaps the suppliers of dissection animals).

Personally, if dissection teaches one smart kid anything about animal innards, and that saves even one human life (because of the more advanced knowledge it leads to), then I am all in favor of dissection (as it stands, although the info on this site regarding suboptimal inhumane treatment is causing me to rethink that a bit).

I know a guy who changed his name to William "Whistle Blower" Currier, before he ran for office, and another girl who changed her name to "Stephanie 'Vs. The Machine' Sailor" before she ran for office. There was another guy who did that who changed his middle name to "Cut the Taxes" for the same reason.

All of the prior were fighting for individual rights for human beings, though.

To me, this is what someone with a good sense of priorities does, and even then, its usefulness might not outlive its detriment.

Still, of all the prior, I like "Whistle Currier" the most, because he was fighting the court system, and fighting for my rights as a juror. See: http://www.fija.org

Hopefully, the namechange won't screw you up too much when the machine is treating you like "one taxpayer unit". Best of Luck.

Well, i would say just do what your heart tells you to do (: As long as you think it's right, go on! At least you're living for a purpose (:

Way to go on the name change. Keep it up!!!!!
I legally changed my name to "Erb Avore" about 8 years ago. You certainly out did me there. :)

Best of luck in life!!! Go Vegan!!!
Love,
Erb Avore

get a freakin life

Even in the Netherlands everybody knows you now.
You are hot news in our country!

Kind regards,

Gabriël

Wow, Seriously...

I'm from Brazil and I read about you in the Internet. Thank God, here in Brazil we don't have to dissect animals in schooll.
I think that your idea to change your name was perfect! Congratulations....

PS: Sorry for my bad English...

Erica

Waste of time...

Gotta love PETA. How about someone changes their name to Cutout PETA Brainwashing.com?

I love the fact that you stood up to the system. There are so many animals being abused by the hands of "the system" and I for one am very proud that you had the nerve to stand up for what you believe in. If we as humans don't take care of our animals, who will? THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How very good of you.

I love animals so much and I hate what they do at school ( cutting animals etc.)
I am proud of you.

Love, Margareth.
Rotterdam, Holland.

If only you'd affiliated yourself with the humane society instead of PETA. I would then have been assured that you were intelligent and researched things before you impulsively jumped head first into self gratifying warped brainwashed agendas.

Enjoy the 15 minutes of internet fame.

my name is ana.from brasil.sorry, not speak english, bud (admiro sua iniciativa e apoio, temos aqui uma representante chamada Luisa Mell.não desista.Conforme a palavra de Deus os animais são irracionais, inocentes em suas atitudes e não serão julgados no juìzo final.Deus a abençoe.)

Peta wants a reaction from people. So here it is. We got bigger problems than an animal getting chopped into little bitty peices. I'm sad you live in Asheville. That place is getting to the point that no one can spend any money there. Don't bring your kids unless you want them to see grown men and women kissing each other in public. To many Weirdoo's.

This is whats wrong with america is people like this! Have you ever seen an animal before you were asked to disect one in school? WOW

HAHAHA.... at least it's not a tattoo she'll have to explain to her grandkids some day.

I've got the highest respect for you. What a wonderful person you are! I only wish there were more people like you! Thank you for your contribution to a better world and keep up the good work!

you are amazing. i totally support you and respect you. well done cutout! don't let those haters get to you.

Are you going to change your name when you marry or hyphenate?

i think that its pretty neat that you stand for what you believe in but at the same time that is a bit extreme..the things that you thought were important then are not nearly that important years later..i have dissected animals and i hunt..but you know its life get over it..seriously..would you rather them dissect humans?

If only people had this kind of passion for Jesus.

Wow...I hate to add fuel to your fire, but you should never step on the toes of your parents by changing your name unless it is in marriage. Especially when it is for such a ludacris cause. You are absolutely ridiculous, and I have done exactly what I didn't want to do in this post...I've fueled your fire of "look at me, i'm different!"

I just read about you in the UK newspaper -
THE INDEPENDANT

Good for you, this is what it takes.

With all the HUMAN suffering in the world this becomes your cause to go along with a silly name change?

Sometimes I just gotta shake my head and wonder.

congrats!

Oh lord

It's your name, so who am I to stop you. But I think this is a little like a tattoo. You might regret this big time in a few years, especially if you get married or want to have kids some day.

Don't get me wrong, we shouldn't torture animals without reason, but if we can advance science and save human lives through humane dissections and experimentation we have an obligation to do so.

Congratulations for the initiative. Extremely brave! The news already reach my country, Brazil.

Lets not be curious how the body works, just stuff your head in the sandbox of ignorance.

Just read about you on msnbc.com.

I just want to say that I applaud you for doing what you are doing. I am a college student and I have done research and written several papers on animal dissection and the 6 million animals that are affected by it every year. People don't seem to think that dissecting a cat is that bad because the teachers tell you that they "died of natural causes". Yet they do not know what happened to the animal on the way to the biological plant. I remember watching a video and seeing cats put in gassing chambers to be killed. The ones that survived the chambers were pumped with formaldehyde while they were still alive. I just cried watching that video as I saw their tiny paws clenching as their bodies jerked in pain. But you already know this...yet many people do not. Though I am happy that some schools are letting students do alternative assignments, the dissection/harming of animals is still taking place. If you need any help raising awareness about this controversial issue please feel free to email me.

Again, thanks for doing what you are doing. Animals don't have a voice, and we need more people like you to give them one!

You are an inspiration.

I'm am sorry, but that is the most ridiculous name. It is not funny and most people will take it as a joke. Get a life.

Hi,

aren´t there a lot of problems which are more important?

You need help. This is going way to far for a cause. Do your thing, but to change your name to that name is horrible. You need to seek mental heath care.

She is gonna regret changing her name when she gets more mature....no guy is gonna date her, lol

Way to go, girl. God bless. Never took biology because of that dirty deed. Keep on truckin'.

Well, say what you will but it worked. I, and most all of you, never would have known about this site if it was't for her. What kind of people say such vicious things to a teenage girl anyway. So she changed her name, what harm is it to you - so maybe she changes it back after educating a few people about something she considers important. She's already reached people all around the world - I say congrats, Cutty. : )

As an animal person, I hate class dissections...not just because of the idea that these animals were rasied just to be killed but rather because it smells awful.

I agree when you say that other types of mtehods can be used such as interactive online methods and 3D models..but changing your name? It's people like you that make people like me who support some of the PETA values seem like a complete whack job! Changing your name is extremly stupid, first off you will loose any credibility when you want to get and actual job outside of PETA and secondly, it makes you look ridiculous. Try protesting a different way, like putting up posters or something, changing your name will do nothing for you. I mean yeh, you will get your 15 minutes of fame and yes people will ask you why you changed your name and everything, but what about 30 years from now when you have kids? Or Grandkids? Do you really want to be the crazy grandmother? Do you WANT to be called 'grandma cutout'??

Your just sending the wrong message to people, and giving everyone else at PETA a bad name.

Cutout-I think you are incredibly brave and mature beyond your years. I applaud you for finding an issue that you feel passionately about and taking a stand.

While your dedication to animal rights is admirable perhaps your energies would be better spent elsewhere. The 3.5 MILLION children on this planet who die of starvation and malnutrition each year might be one such effort worthy of your time.

In the grand scheme of things aren't people more important than rats?

'But how will a serial killer get their start?

Are you crazy? A web address for a name? Come back to reality with the rest of us and use your energy to support your cause, not discredit it. (Note to self: Stay away from NC. Any state that allows this nonsense to go on clearly has issues.)

Good luck to you in the future with that name.

This is just silly.

Congratulations for making a stand! It is people like you who make a difference in this world!

I admire her spirit, but I think she is a little misguided. Instead of changing her name to a name none of her family or friend (singular) uses she could have used her time productively. There are millions of children that waste time cooped up inside a house after school and on weekends because there is not enough adults who volunteer to supervise outdoor activities. I think time invested in our future is better then the wasted time to making name changes that will not last 2 years.

As and animal lover I once again disagree with PETA and there methods, there are hundreds of animal activist groups that are in touch with reality and make a positive contribution to society. Supporting PETA is like supporting Nazis because they say they are “trying to make the world a better place.” That might be there message but the methods are all screwed up.

Extraordinary dedication, passion, and sacrifice to a cause.

My 7th and 8th grader are going to dissect a pig this year and my daughter is not too sure of it but I think it will be a very good learning expierence for them both. That way they can actualy see real organs rather than fake plastic models.

I hope you never have to be operated on by a Dr that refused to dissect a freaking chicken.

I hope you got enough points to trade up for the shirt.

mmmm, well.....everything is ok......but changing your name in order to eliminate dissection??.......i strongly believe that this is a little "too short reason" to do that........i would rather change my name against pollution, for the fair punishment for murderers, kidnappers, rapers, etc etc, but not just for dissection.....dont be offended, but that reason y just "too short".........there are greater (much greater problems in the world, just like wars, genocides, etc) to do that....not just for frogs, cats, chickens, etc. With all the respect, i think that you have problems, and some serious ones.

Class=none
endorsement=none

so it that "Cutout", "CUTOUT", or "CutOut"?

CutOutDissection.com. I hope you ignore the rude people in this world who don’t have the guts to stand up for something they believe in. Kudos’ to you my dear! I hope you wake up every day with a big smile on your face knowing that you stand for a very important issue in this world. I am 30 years old and I remember back in my school days that I had to dissect a frog. Had I known then what I know now I would be doing the same thing you are doing. Be proud of yourself as many of us are so happy you came along to speak out for the ones who can not. I know you are going to do so much more for our animal friends. I was getting so mad at some of the comments people left, but you know what?? They read the story you are trying to get out there no matter how stupid they thought it was they got educated on “reality” and the suffering these poor defenseless animals have to endure just so kids can poke at their dead body’s. And I bet they’ll even tell other people about how dumb you are. Who cares, it’s getting the word around. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR SPEAKING UP FOR THE ANIMALS! They thank you too. Good luck to you in your life journey and keep standing proud and keep doing what you are doing!!!!!!!!!! All my love for our animals, Tammie from Plano, TX.

I used to think U.S soldiers were heroes, fighting enemies and bringing democracy to a dictatorship in the heart of the middle-east. Then I heard about your brave changing your name, and instantly thought this was the kind of bravery last seen in a movie where John Wayne swaggered onto screen.

You should get the medal of honor, glued to the back of a silver star, wrapped in the medal of Freedom for your brave stance, I know after reading your url I was swept by a wave of conversion that instantly swayed me to your cause. Hallelujah

I have read through most of the comments and I realize how much people are missing the bigger picture. "How great...Way to take a stand..." and the "You're an idiot...Wait till you mature..." statements could both be reduced to a simple, "I agree/disagree". Cutout has the right to change her name to whatever she wants. This is her "cross to bear" not ours. I haven't seen this much ado about nothing since Chad "Ocho Cinco" Johnson changed his last name. She believes in a cause. She is showing her support in that belief. How many teenagers do you know that are willing to do anything that doesn't involve a PS3 or XBOX or (gasp) the opposite sex? Ridicule her if you want. That is your right. Her right is to voice her opinion. I don't agree with her. That is my right. If you really disagree with her, say nothing. Negative comments are still comments. If you agree with her, upset the people that disagree, they will comment and comment about how foolish they feel this is. That will bring more and more attention to this. I may disagree with her stance, but I agree with her right to make it.

The fact that this is a subject of discussion is the ridiculous part....but I will say...I can't wait to see her wedding invitations.....lolol

I've just read an article on CNN.com about you, Cutout Dissection.com, and respect it very much.
I will try to research what is currently done in my school although I will not be taking any biology classes.

I think it's nice that you figured out how important animal care and animal issues are so early in life.

Better get used to the people who will tell you that you have misplaced priorities, that you must not care about children because you do care about animals, or how tasty they think meat is. It gets boring, but really those are the only arguments thay have, and it's a pretty lame collection.

It's important to feel compassion at others' suffering -- and to feel enough to do something about it, by direct action; by publicizing the situation intelligently and clearly, as you have done very well here; and by withstanding nonstop scorn and hostility from people who just aren't willing to face how much pain and suffering their choices are causing to innocent, sentient beings.

It's good you feel so much compassion so early in life. BTW, you could always call yourself "Cutter" for short, that's kind of cool.

Good luck!!

So I disagree with the way that they treat the animals. yes I saw the video on her site but as far as the dissecting the animals i think it is very educational and great. I enjoyed it a lot. so I think she is going a little to crazy about it. watching a video about the dissection isn't as informing as doing the actual dissection.

If you just wanted to tell people your name is cutout dissection.com, why don't you just tell people that is your name? Rather than going through a legal process to have that name be 'official.'

I commend you greatly for finding something you are passionate about and working to make change. On the other hand if I were your parents I would be extremely angry that you would give up your namesake for this. What are your children going to be named?

I refused to disect frogs in my biology class years and years ago. There was no internet back then, but I sure wish there had been. I really admire your dedication. I will tell everyone I know about your website to help you raise awareness. Good luck!

YOU THINK EVERYONE WANTS TO HEAR YOUR OPINION, IT'S NOT GANG VIOLENCE YOUR PROTESTING, TO MANY THIS IS ONLY SCIENCE. WHO MADE YOU THE ALMIGHTY ANYWAY?

For what it's worth here's my opinion.... I agree and disagree. I myself "Refused" to dissect in school. I had my parents to write a note, and state that it was okay with them that I did not dissect. I was born in 1969 - so, they were taken a back and complied but I received a zero on my grade.

There have been other comments that I agree with.... For medical purposes and education of those going in to the field, they need to be able to have a deeper understanding of the inner workings of us all, including animals. Now, for the rest of us (I went into business management) there was no need for this to be a requirement. I commend my parents for allowing me to not be a party to it. And for the teacher that allowed me to get a zero! I truly believe that there should always be an option for a different assignment, not everyone was meant to see the inside of animals.

There is a war going on. Millions of people are starving and homeless in this country. The economy is in shambles. Clearly there are more important things to worry about than some stupid animals that would have died anyway. People>animals.

I think she did this for attention! Yeah, I see people taking actions for what they love and have a passion for, but to change their name to a URL? The name your parents that love you gave you. The name that will be yours and only yours? It's pathetic and that wasn't THAT cool......

I'm sure there are millions of starving suffering humans out there that would have done anything for the money you used to change your name to .... cutout dissection.com?

But I mean, what do I know?

You'r rediculous. And so are all the people that are behind her.

I wonder if cutouts signed up to be an organ donor.

A Great Site And To Let You Know That We Hear You All-The-Way To Here In Canada. Keep up the good work.

What happens when she gets married? Then she'll just have a really ugly first name.

I'm sorry but I support both practices here. I do agree for the alternative methods, but to me dissection comes natural. But I guess that would be the fisherman in me. I took 2 years of Marine Biology in high school and both years I participated in all dissection projects there were. I loved every minute of it, but yes I do agree that when animals are killed in the manner stated above, that doesn't make it right. However our dissections for our marine bio classes were from animals that died from natural causes. We would go out as a class on field trips to the beach here in florida and do the dissection there on the beach on what ever was found dead, and then let the local wildlife (seagulls) dispose of it all.

As a 35 yo adult I think you idea was creative. Your still young so if the name change creates problems later like someone said for travel just deal with it then. You cant worry about what may happen (unless its illegal or someone may get hur) as many opportunities are lost that way. I disected frogs, sharks cats and fetal pigs and your right I don't see how it has helped me in terms of my understanding of biology or anything else. I especially like what you said about people learning to be insensitive toward animals. I still ove a good steak but this killing is senseless and even for food I believe the kill should be done as humaily as possible. As for your negative critics to hell with them. We should all be so pasionate about something. As for the person that called you a freek, they don't need to be disecting anything. They need remedial english to learn how to spell. Look at what stupid Michelle Smith posted today. She missed the entire point of youe efforts. The animals would not have died anyway!! Idiot. Good luck sweetheart. My cats and I thank you.

what up Peta Jeniifer! aka cutout. It's Lindsey from Earth Fare. this is crazy I haven't watched the news for years (it depresses me) and tonight I just had this feeling I should watch it and then you were on it! I heard you got a spot with PETA congrats miss ya!

I protested dissecting cats in High School Biology and my teacher made me and my girl sit outside the class for about a week. I'm glad because t was so gross being in that room, the cats were in thick plastic bags in the room but you could still see the shape, and the smell of the formaldehyde or dead cat, whatever it was, was awful.

If you personally don't want to dissect - fine, whatever. But you should be fighting for schools to offer alternatives to other students who, like yourself don't want to dissect. Do NOT take away the rights of others just because of your beliefs or all you will be accomplishing is switching the situation around so that you can have it your way.

And another note - I hope this whole anti-dissection thing only extends to high school, becase if you don't want future veterinarians or doctors to dissect before they get out of school then I challange you to allow them to perform their first surgery on your pet...or you. And this comes from someone who has seen a very good dissection cd. Believe me, it will NEVER be the same as the real thing.

I commend her for what she has done. When I was in school I was told I could cut up the frog or fail! Excellant for standing up for what you believe in.

ok...why would u say cut out if u dont like cutting things? i mean couldnt you say somethin else....but i'm all with you. plus i dont like cutting dead animals.

I think that is GREAT what you did and what you stand for, Cutout. More people should be like you and treat animals like they want to be treated. In high school, I cancelled my biology class because I did not want to dissect a frog and I took typing class instead.

Hey everyone!
So in my AP U.S. History class, my teacher likes to do "current events" and most of them are funny and a couple are serious. Anyways, guess what was one of the current events!!!! The name change!!!! So, he thought it was o.k. BUT most of the students had a thing or two to say about it. "That's so stupid, you can't learn from paper!" ....blah blah blah. So I started to get antsy and I wanted to start saying things back but my teacher say it and switched subjects. I want to show them what it's like for animals now a days. So I'm going to try to convince my teacher to allow me to show a video or two. Good idea? I think so! =]

Hi Cutout
I'm [name not availible]
first of all i need to say that you are a hero to people who are trying to ban dissection (i'm not one of them)
2. about the last 5 words...
i'm not against dissection. what i am against is how they get their animals. what i want to ban is killing animals for dissection
Three. to be specific what i want passed is a law saying that a corpse to be used for a dissection can only be obtained if the death is from a natural cause such as disese or old age and not from chemicals or gas, etc.

We live in harsh times and harsh times call for measures that seem idiotic to some. Bravo for you to stand up to a passion that you believe in. I also learned a few things by just reading what is done to these creatures.
Cutout, you keep doing what you are doing regardless of any negative comments. Prince changed his name to a 'symbol' once upon a time and he didn't even have an ethical, moral reason!
I wish you had been around when I had to dissect a frog in my youth. Keep educating people, this is so important.

omg wow really..there r way more important things in this world to worry about..like the war or the election coming up...or global warmin..i mean anythin but disectiing in school..this is why i am going back to my home town and leavin america...its cuz of ppl like u..thx watever ur real name is.

My school uses donated cadavers from owners' pets that have been euthanized (the donation is proposed after the owner has opted to euthanize). There's no need to completely cut out dissection. It's useful. The animal source is what's often questionable for other institutions. Go back and change your name to recyclecadavers.com

First, I commend you Cutout. Granted, some people are claiming your difficulties to travel and challenges with your name...SO WHAT! I think those challenges are a small price to pay for something you believe in. Following your passion, especially discovering it at 19, is an incredible feat.

It blows me away there are people in this world that think someone who is passionate about bettering this planet, in ANY way, is wrong. Someone even said they are embarrased you're from their state. WOW. I'm thankful I live in a country that those people are the minority, while ethicially moral people are the majority, and then the leaders like you again are a minority.

At 19, you can change the world. Set your visions high. You'll do something even bigger. I'm sure of it. Thank You for the inspiration for millions to follow our passions and Thank You for being bold about what you believe in.

nice in one way to see a young person so passionate however, what a shame you see dissection as something so wrong. I learned a lot about anatomy, am grateful for medical research (especially in regards to my asthmatic daughter and perhaps future illnesses) Perhaps, as is the case in most, things have gotten out of proportion. Don't bend the facts too much for self-gratification and fame on the internet. It looks a lot worse than a cut up animal on a slab.

I forgot something, as you obviously did as well, we are carnivores. Protein is good for you. Yes yes, I know it can be found in other things besides your favorite cow but...eggs have all the amino acids our bodies need. Why is that? If you can answer that for me, maybe I'll reconsider.

well at least shes doing something ORIGINAL to bring light to her cause, unlike most of you crybabies that are just mad you didnt think of something like this to help anyone out (probably ever) in your lifes..

You have made a really bold statement by changing your name. True, people will get to know your cause whenever you will tell them your name. However, this will be short lived. After, say, one or two years, when most of the people will know what your name is, things will fall back to where they were. Have you thought of this? At the offset, your decision to change your name is pretty descriptive, as it gives you a chance to make people aware of your cause. But you have not thought this through. You need to figure out better ways to create an impact, to make yourself heard. I am a vegetarian and I am against dissections by all means. I support you but I have to admit that your decision reflects your immature nature. Well what does it matter anyway, you are only 19!

Please change back your name to Jeniffer, a really beautiful name, whenever you get a chance to retrospect upon this decision.

Good luck in your mission. Kudos!

Please, get a life and a REAL cause to fight for. Use your energy to help PEOPLE and children instead of frogs. Seriously.

I'm shocked at some of the comments here. Such hostility towards someone that did absolutely nothing to you.

Is dissecting animals equally as immoral as gang violence, crimes against children, drunk driving, or any number of other offenses? Not to most of us. But some people believe all life - no matter how insignificant it may seem - is worth protecting. Are you really so narrow-minded that you can't allow this girl to have her own value system without feeling like yours is threatened somehow?

And to all of you that think you're "schooling" this girl on reality, pointing out the trouble she's bound to have with this name: so what? If it's a problem, she'll change it back.

Relax, folks. She did it to bring attention to a cause. And I'd say she's found success with that.

Cutout- I respect what you've done, and don't let the people commenting on this site make you feel in any way like you made the wrong choice. I would never have the gumption to do something like this! And I certainly am no animal activist. But the world needs more civil disobedience these days and I commend you for your discourse on the matter!

Way to go, Cutout. Changing your name was a little drastic, but nevertheless it was a good way to raise awareness about dissections!

This is extremely ignorant.

Good on you, Cutout! Extraordinary! You're certainly helping to bring to everyone's attention the atrocities inflicted on all these innocent, voiceless creatures.

I years earlier decided that, when my son-to-be became of school age, he would be home educated. And back then, I was still able to find some ways of teaching "dissection" WITHOUT actually dissecting.

When I was in high school, I was forced to dissect various animals. Because I refused, I failed those courses. I have no regrets.

I'm proud of you, and worried for the ridicule you'll be facing.

Oh, I just saw a post from someone asking if Cutout has signed up to be an organ donor. The writer of that post obviously hasn't a brain in HER head, so I hope SHE isn't an organ donor. Organ donations (except with single kidneys) are done post-mortem. The human being -- the donor -- is not killed TO gather her organs for other humans. But animals ARE killed without asking for THEIR permission. There is a huge difference.

Anyway, again, dear Cutout, all my wishes of strength for you, and that you can get through to all the numbskulls.

Susie (an ethical vegan)
PEACE

wow
nice one

Who are we to judge what others do? We only live once stand up for what you believe in.

This is stupid. Most animals disected are alredy dead anyways. Humans are higher up the food chain for a reason. We have the authority to disect other animals. When you get in college, some anatomy classes require you to disect a cadaver. A real cadaver. A human being which use to be breathing, walking, everything. Are you against this Ms. Cutout Dissection.com? YOU DID THIS FOR ATTENTION AND YOU GOT IT.HAPPY?

AH HA HA!!

PETA, I have nothing against your organization or anyone associated with it. That said, I have an issue when you start to interfere with how I live my life. Without dissections the science of biology would not exist. Without biology, chances are a lot of the vegetarian/vegan foods and products that you use would not exist. Please think twice before launching massive campaigns protesting something that goes against your values, when the rest of the world realizes the importance of these studies and results. Just because you think that something is right does not mean that you have the right to change everything, and especially science for everyone else. Programs such as this make your organization appear ignorant at best.

No wonder PETA can't get themselves taken seriously. It's filled with a bunch of freaks and weirdos. You could go out and save an abused child, feed a starving senior citizen, give shelter to a homeless family or counsel the grieving in hospitals...but NO, you want to save stupid frogs and worms? You're taking the easy way out and trying to make yourself feel good about it. Do something that really matters. Go ahead and delete this post because we in the REAL world know you can't take criticism.

You are the best Cutout; what a courageous thing to do. Stay proud and strong!

hello, excuse me but i speak english not very well.I read the newspaper in italy your gesture against vivisection, you admire and I think that many people like you should do, continues.you really are big.you do everything against those people without a soul and brain.

I think what you did is awesome. I mean, sure, everyone who isn't a member of PETA thinks you and everyone around you is a kook, but who cares? You go, girl!

So...how will our doctors receive effective training?

Hi, I'm writing from Italy.....I found an article about you and your website in an online italian newspaper.....so this mean your idea makes a lot of people talk about your cause.....and that's the mission! Great!
Sara

well done, seriously.

However, when I was 19 i thought it would be a cool to start smoking. Im now 22 and want to quit. I also wanted to get a tattoo on my neck. But thought... Hmmm, I might regret that in the future to continued to get my arm tattooed instead. Pretty glad I didnt go for the neck now.

One thing, what about future employment? Sure you could argue that a name is only a name and doesnt mean a whole lot. This might be true if your parents called you Superman when you were born (that has happened) and thats just the name youve got. However, when your future employer asks about the name change- and you have to explain it, they may smile. But you can bet your boots that they will never give you the job. Changing your name to cutoutdissection.com says an awful lot about you as a person. And im afraid to say, not the good, insperational, stand up for what you beleive in character you probably want to be seen as. It says something more along the lines of... Idiot.

As much as I admire your commitment I think changing your name is going a bit far. It was a great idea none the less and to be honest i love it but still a little bit too far. Great cause though! And this is now officialy gone worldwide...
SUPPORT ALL THE WAY FROM SCOTLAND!!!KEEP IT UP!!! =]]

One more embarrasment for animal activists and alot where i am from (UK) will say "well, she is american" I see why you have done it and don't condone what happens to these animals but trust me, there are better ways of getting the message across and working towards stopping it. Good on you for your bravery and you have certainly raised some interest but I think for all the wrong reasons.

I would rather have my beloved pets be cared for by a vet who was trained in the real world. Would you like to be worked on by a surgeon who was trained using 'computer animations"?

i find it interesting that you protest against (usually) disease ridden animals being dissected, however, you dont't seem to have a policy on the dissection of humans for medical training/education. Don't get me wrong i think this is crucial in the training of doctors and surgeons and for the understanding of the body but surely a human life is more precious than one of a rat? everyone must agree with that. isnt it a bit hypocritical to protest against the dissection of a rat but not of a fellow human? seriously tell me if you DONT agree with this. also on the subject of the name, your name will not contribute towards the prevention of dissection, you may become more famous but a school will not think 'o wow her name is cutoutdiss....' and change their policy.

Well done. Better to be remembered for something then a loser on the sideline that did nothing like the fools that are saying negative things about you. We need to respect the earth and clearly you understand that.

As humans our major problems come from that.

All you dissenters...think about what you have done in your life...the last stand you took.

Doubtful you do much of anything or will be remembered for anything... but thats ok...you don't understand anyway.

I commend you for changing your name to Cutout! It may be a bit too far-fetched for me to do, but I still think you did a great thing!!!

Well done, I think what you have done is a wonderful thing and I fully support you and your cause

I hope you continue to raise awareness and support for all animals in need

I think she's done well in raising support for her cuase but changing her name was a STUPID idea, her parents must be so proud...not.

Wait....You get points for doing things?? I thought you do things because you believe in them. There shouldn't be incentives.

Unfortunately, you have failed to realize that your efforts are in the wrong area. The Lord God of heaven created you and every other human being in His image. Why are you not trying to save the millions of babies that are aborted every year? Where is your logic in this? God gave us dominion over the animals and His authority is the ultimate authority – nothing you do can ever change that.

I understand your cause and I really don't like dissecting animals either but it was way out there to go and change your name to something like cutoutdissection.com. Now everyone is going to just notice, you as the girl that changed her name and not notice your cause. It was just a publicity stunt. You could have went about it in a completely different way.

i think your doing a good thing.
your standing up for what YOU believe in.
all these losers that are commenting and saying how dumb it is, need to get a life.
they're just crying because they sit on their computers all day not doing jack besides making a deal out of whats NONE of thier business.
Their part of the million that will never do anything good in life.

SO KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. =)

YOUR DOING A GREAT THING.

Everyone that has something bad to say is just jelous that they aren't out doing something good for the world.
FOR THOSE PEOPLE- GROW UP!
i know your well over you years. *clears throat
so don't you have better things to do then sit an critisize?
get off your lazy asses an do something yourself!

=)
your a rolemodel to those animal lovers.

she will always be Nuggets to me.

wow...

I'm completely ashamed.

Ashamed that I don't have half the courage you had.

Yes, it was a great idea. Yes, you'll regret it sooner or later. But I'm sure you already knew that when you made your decision.

I wonder how many among the ones that come here to criticize or call you names can stand up and say that they move one but a finger for their own beliefs.

Impressive Jen... uh, Cutout =)

Wow! Is this stupid stuff ever going to end? I understand & agree with you wanting to make a unique stand to get your point across on an important topic, but the name change is just ridiculous. There are so many more options that could have been taken instead.
I don't believe this is what was intended when people talk about a "Free Country" & "Freedom of Speech". This is taking advantage of something that is a luxury & there has to be a line drawn (clearly not everyone can distinguish the line on their own).
As for the comment on celebs giving their children names like "Audio Science" & "Apple", these celebs are not commended for these! They are made fun of and ridiculed for the harassment that the children are going to face growing up just because they wanted to be unique!
This makes me incredibly happy knowing that my very hard earned tax dollars are being spent wisely, I mean really, who cares about the starving homeless children, underpaid teachers, out-numbered cops, & the vehicle swallowing pot holes around the city!!!! The judges that approve these frivolous "name changing" cases should be shipped off to Iraq to maybe do something useful with their time & stop wasting ours!!!

Thats so great that you have done something to raise awareness.. but I do think that it was OTT and you will regret it soon, especially when you are in your 30's and will probably have children.

I would get bullied at school so much if I was called Lilo Dissection.com =S

What's in a name? If it helps prevent un necessary cruelty to an animal then that sounds good to me!

Very unique idea! As a homeschool teacher I do not require dissection for my children. Especially after the horror I suffered in high school years ago.
I've never understood how rooting around the insides of a dead animal was educational. Reading about biology and observing living creation is much more educational.
Keep up the great work!

I THINK THIS IS THE STUPIDEST THING I HAVE EVER HEARD I WOULD DISOWN HE THIS WAS HER FAMILY NAME I CANNOT STAND PEOPLE THAT TAKE THINGS WAY TO FAR I BELIEVE PETA IS A GOOD IDEA BUT JUST LIKE GREENPEACE THEY END UP HURTING THE THINGS THEY LOOK TO PROTECT PETA DO YOU HAVE ZERO CARBON FOOTPRINT AND HAVE NO WASTE BECAUSE IF YOU DONT YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE ERADICATION OF THE ANIMALS YOU PROTECT WHICH REMINDS ME OF THE OLD SHIPPING VESSELS CREENPEACE PILOTS THAT WERE RETIRED DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF POLLUTION THEY CREATE PEOPLE WITH AGENDAS HURT THE CAUSE NOT HELP IT

IF YOU DO NOT POST THAT LAST COMMENT FROM STEPHEN YOU ARE PREVENTING ME FROM EXPRESSING MY FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS

I think what you are doing is a good thing, but legally changing your name to Cutout Dissection.Com may not have been necessary. There are millions of people in the world who stand up for a cause without changing their name. Anyway...that's my thoughts on the name thing...however, I believe that animals shouldn't be treated so cruelly. I applaud your efforts and I hope that you have much success in your endevors. There is a really cut kids' movie that you might want to consider featuring Kermit the Frog. It tells a story about how animals feel about dissection. It's a good story that may help promote your work. It's call Kermit's Swamp Years. Check it out!

It is sad how ignorant people can be. Cut out dissection? To prevent cruelty to animals and help the environment? Really? Come on, this has to be some kind of joke! How can one study internal biology without dissection? I'm glad my veterinarian had to do some of that mean stuff - just like my medical doctor. Find a real, meaningful issue to fight against like the killing of unborn children...

I understand that this is what you stand for, but honestly! There are other ways you can go about protesting, other than being so irrational as changing your name!

As a pre-med student, I don't think there is any good substitute for a real dissection. Looking at the real insides of an animal is completely different from looking at a simulation. I agree that inhumane treatment of these animals before their dissection is cruel and wrong, but not the dissections themselves.

What if you were a vet training to take care of and perform surgery on animals? There would be NO substitute for dissection. Are you against HUMAN dissections?--a regular part of medical school.

Typical America...

I'm so glad to be an educated Brit.

Good job in changing your name. You are going to bring awareness to absolutely nobody, because nobody in the world cares about the dissection of worms, and frogs. I am going to step on a frog when I leave work today and then dissect it with the tires of my car. Then I am going to go hom and eat a hot dog... the kind with beef, turkey, and pork. Because I want 3 animals to die just so that I can eat a delicious hot dog. I might even make a can of chili and then decided not to use it and just throw it away because that is my luxury as a meat eater. Yum.

I think that your heart is in the right place, and I commend you for standing up for something you believe in. That's a rare thing these days. However, I don't agree with you changing your name. It may get people to stop and hear your story, but at the same time, many people will think that you are too extreme, or will get the wrong idea about PETA (wrong idea, meaning that they'll think it's some crazy radical movement, or worse, some type of cult). Moreover, the spontaneity of changing your name like that makes you look childish and impulsive. I'm not saying you didn't think it through before you did it. I'm just saying it makes you look childish and impulsive. There are better ways to make people listen to your cause than making yourself look like a fool. However, I DO think we need more people in the world with a heart like yours and passion like yours.

Well, This is an interesting way to get your point through..
I would think of it as something new and inspiring, you have confidence and courage
But other people are entitled to opinions
I feel that disections would help this world through medical science. Maybe we should look into ways to examine animals more peacefully so they don't feel pain.
I wouldn't like the idea of being killed that way either, but humans are humans, and at the end of the day, we were destined to destroy eachother.
This is yet another opinion, my mind is yet to expand, and hopefully we would all agree on something peacefully

As a teacher I thank you for bringing attention to this most important subject. As for the people who have criticized you I leave this quote.

"Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." - Albert Einstein

Whatever floats your boat.

......Are you kidding me?! you ppl are all so crazy that you dont realize that you are completely insane ... do you really think that changing your name is going to stop a frog from being "cutout" for the teachings of our youth? smallminded overbearingly opinionated worthless waste of time , and the rest of PETA ....boohoo fur coats ....boohoo steak and chicken ...save the red paint for whats really important ..THE FUTURE OF "OUR" COUNTRY...things wont change from this feeble cause .. your energy is POINTLESS..xoxo

"We PETA are afraid to post everyones comments about our friend "Cutout" due to the fact that we only want to acknowledge the slightly non-offensive reactions to this obsurd impulsive quest.... and that is why no-one got my last comment.... POST IT COWARDS!!!!!

Olá meu nome é Yago sou do Brasil.
Nossa seu nome veio como noticia pro Brasil achei muito intereçante gostei da atitude!

Abraços.

Tell me, if you had cancer, would you want a surgeon operating on you who had never dissected anything? Do you support the dissection of humans? If yes, than you are indeed a hippocrate.

I'm seriously opposed to animal cruelty, but I really don't know if changing your name is at all a good way to raise awareness. (I'm also surprised that anyone could possibly be opposed to dissection and yet not already be a vegetarian, as the story seems to indicate was the case for Cutout.) While it's cool that Cutout wants to take a stand, changing your name to "CutoutDissection.com" is an enormous sacrifice for a relatively small bump in awareness, and it reinforces PETA's reputation as a crazy out-of-touch fringe group. I'm proud of Cutout for wanting to make a difference at a comparatively young age, but I'm disappointed that her friends, family and PETA were not able to persuade her to do it in a more productive fashion.

Dissection I agree is not of any real use in the middle school level. In college though medical and biology students really do benefit from dissection. There's only so much you can learn in a book without seeing something and feeling it in real life. College students who avoid dissection may be at a disadvantage against their peers.

No matter what anyone thinks of how you did it, you've definitely raised awareness for these animals. Thank you!

Amazing that this is news worthy.... I am at a total loss for words right now as this world has much bigger issues (economy, presidential race, 2 wars, homelessness, etc) and we are worried about dissecting animals. I respect your passion, but only wish that you would focus it onto something much larger and much more significant to the world's population.

Open your mouth, sweetheart. I want to see if Japedo is trying to light a fire.

From David: "Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence." - Albert Einstein

Or, in this case, "If you disagree with me you're wrong." Peta's tactics have always been wrong. Even to people like me who care about animals. The attention-whoring doesn't help any cause, it just annoys people you morons.

crazy girla

@Sophie, atleast we have straight teeth!

Probably the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time. Fair enough supporting a cause, but changing your name to a website in support of that, is just plain stupid, and really you're just trying to bring attention to YOURSELF rather than the cause you support. Well done, you've certainly done that.

The fact of the matter is, whether you tree hugging types like it or not, human beings are OMNIVOROUS. Our teeth, digestive systems and biology require us to eat meat as well as vegetables. Whilst I deplore animal mistreatement in pursuit of this, going to these kinds of extremes does nothing but cheapen the real issue and make the supporters of it (and perversely, the cause itself) look retardarded.

All the ignorance, ridicule and name-calling aside, the mixed reaction to Cutout's story here clearly highlights the bigger issue of animal rights (and even basic animal welfare) and the HUGE amount of ignorance and malevolence surrounding it.

This isn't about 'humans versus animals' as some venemous posters on this page would have us believe (remembering, obviously, that homo sapiens are animals as well), it's about lifting the veil of secrecy surrounding despicable acts committed against life - human or otherwise.

And (funnily enough) in my experience, people who play the 'there are bigger issues in the world to care about than animal rights' card usually aren't the ones actually INVOLVED in working towards, say, world peace or the abolition of famine or poverty (I use these because they're so often the tokenistic issues which so easily roll off tongues when questioned), they're just privileged cynics who justtify their dismissal of blatant suffering and cruelty by reciting human plights.

The sooner the ignorant stop over-simplifying the world into pleasant little black-and-white boxes of 'human' suffering and 'animal' suffering, worthy and unworthy, the more we'll hopefully be able to realise that the unacceptable is the unacceptable, and to be ethical and compassionate people means extending this into all realms of living.

While apathy is rife, any personal attempt to spread awareness and knowledge about such a valid issue - about which others can really do something to turn the tide - is seriously welcomed by those of us who do give a crap about doing what's right, not what's easy, in the world.

So all the best, Cutout! Keep spreading the word, and don't let anyone get in your way;)

Changing your name is as pointless as my post here. It accomplishes nothing but your 15 minutes of fame.

Dont get me wrong, I'm applauding you for standing for your beliefs and take some real action. But changing your name into an url... There should be laws against that.

Hi that's great! i think it's really awesome what you do for animals, keep it up!
greets from holland :)

PETA could have at least registered the URL in your name ... now you have no control over the domain name.

Obviously your type of people would abandon progress for the sake of populism. Trust me, dissections need to stay.

Sad... Really very sad.

You must be out of your mind to change your name to something like this and expect that to make a difference in the world.

The only thing you accomplished is that you've reached the news in some countries (also in The Netherlands). But sadly the attention is pulled to your name change instead of the thing you're fighting for. Result is that I really can't take you or your website seriously. I mean, how can I take anything you say seriously if you behave like this? (too extreme).

This is really pathetic.
Animals that are dissected are already dead and will not be hurt because dead animals can't feel anything.
I will continue to eat meat with growing pleasure, even if it was only to make your silly actions undone :P

Good God, find a worthy cause!

I am sitting in my Social Studies class right now and we are all thinking about what a ridiculous idea this is. Doesn't this girl have anything better to do? What about global warming or some other more noteworthy cause? I love animals but someone's gotta draw the line. Find a hobby!

WTF does her name matter? What the fuck does a name matter. All you nay sayers, probably with a name like mike or john, is your name not a million times boring and meaningless than hers? Think about what you say people. She has more courage in her writing hand then you have in your whole fucking bodies.

Good luck CUTOUT!!!!!!

You are an awesome young lady! What dedication and compassion! You ROCK!
~Amanda

teenagers. awesome.

Maybe people will take you more seriously if you use the French pronunciation - Coo-Too Dee-sayc-see-on.

Well if you think about it, do you really think that any of the doctors who save lives every day ever dissected an animal in school? You're dang right, they did. Sometimes, the best way to learn about something is to see it for yourself. But cheers for your method of getting your 10 minutes of fame. I hope it was worth it.

wow.
wow.
just wow.
LOL sorry, thats so stupidly ridiculous!
what the hell were you thinking?

Lame... very lame

ALL THE PEOPLE WITH THE NEGITIVE COMMENTS ARE THE IGNORANT PEOPLE! UNFORTUNATLY PROBABLY AROUND YOUR OWN AGE. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERANCE, THEY CERTAINLY ARE NOT!

i thing it's cool. it's not something for the avarage. it's a sort of rebellion to save the animal word from the crualties of man kind.

It's an interesting way to show your cause. I won't say it isn't odd, but I do envy you for standing up to the people that disagree all for what you believe in. I think people remember extraordinary things better than they would another normal webpage. I don't agree with your cause, but if it was something I was passionate about, such as music. Who knows how far I'd go to save it. Anyway, take care and goodluck to you.

:

I think it is pretty cool that you are raising awareness of cruel animal dissections. I never knew that it could happen. I stopped eating at KFC because of I went to Kentucky Fried Cruelty.com and I was disgusted by what I read and saw!

I wonder if she would think Lorena Bobbit should change her name to cutout.. well you know dot com. When will radical people on both the right and left realize that these silly stunts do not lend
credibility to causes they diminish the cause.

I also wonder if the press and PETA will give the same coverage
when she wises up and changes it back. Not likely.

SamIam

wow. how PATHETIC!

I'd be pissed if they "Cut out" dissections. freaking weirdos...

ahh. she's so freakin cool. I want to change my name to something like "fur is dead" haha. fur is one of the things that drives me most crazyyy.
this girl is my hero =P

Hell yes! Kudos to you for standing up for what you believe and standing up for the animals that can't speak for themselves. You're my hero!

In response to a comment a few back, thinking somebody is an idiot for changing their name to a URL has nothing to do with that opinion poster's feelings about animal treatment. It has to do with their opinion about how changing your name to a URL is idiotic, regardless of what the URL is.

I'm sorry, but this is stupid, and so is the judge that allowed her to change her name to a URL, assuming this was actually a legal name change, and that she didn't just convince some idiot at the DMV to type in a different name on her driver's license rather than actually getting it legally changed.

Want to start a conversation? Wear a t-shirt with the URL on it. It's a heck of a lot more visible than your driver's license and is more likely to start up conversations on a frequent basis.

Nothing like prostituting your entire identity in order to get a few more web site hits. Gotta love it.

wow u must really have courage to do that
dissection is bad
but u r so going to regret changing your name

Well done. Your story has made it over to Europe. In fact, it's on the most well-read news site in The Netherlands (okay, not "front page", but it's there).
All of those haters are just jealous that Cutout has a bright future.

That's bold. What a great way to get some attention on such an important issue! I'm doing an alternative dissection project for my high school this year, thanks for working so hard to get the word out!!

OMG. what a freak! a freaken crazy representative of a freaken crazy "organisation". this planet is full of fools.

i personally think that your name is kinda... ASOME but i have a ? how do people take you seriously? i mean "hi my name is www.cutout dissection.com?" correct me if I'm wrong but its really weard.

I'm with you all the way, I am considering to introduce myself as CutOutDissection.com too when meeting people.

Yeah I am so sure.

Everybody do the same let us make this statement succesfull, animals have no voice, be their voice!

Kind regards,

Dan Bekkering.

Animals need our help, they are the slaves of the new time. Eradicate this evil status.
Say no to animal slaughter.
Become a postmeateatinghuman, a meatleaver!

Cut out, I really support that you try to make the world a bit better by standing to you believes, but changing your name into an URL?! Isn't that a little to much?

Heard about this on Kim Komando's computing radio show, of all places. Cutout is young, people ...give her a break ! She can always change her
name back or go by Jennifer amongst the people closest to her. It's just paperwork in the end. Equating her name change with outrageousness of PETA's stunts means you haven't actually paid
attention to or really know just how weird PETA's stunts have been-name change hardly compares with their attention whoring tactics. Those
dissing Cutout are just jealous you didn't come up with an equally intriguing techno way to draw attention to a cause you care about (if
you care about anything other than attacking others' efforts.) Internet marketers must be so jealous of this idea...Dissection is unnecessary.
Doctors could apprentice other doctors, teach them surgery on human patients instead of violated dead animals. If you care about advancing
human medical progress then more human cadavers should be used, care to donate YOUR'S after death? Animals have similar organs as us but
differing reactions to stimuli, that's all that can be learned and is already known. If a product or drug is of questionable safety then no
need to test on animals, test on human volunteers or product shouldn't be made AT ALL ! Kids in school have no need to feel around inside of
dead animals, it's as ludicrous as saying their pets should have babies so kids can witness "miracle of life"....Haters say there are more
important issues than caring about what humans do to other species? Check out the mess the environment is in, species extinctions, pollution
from factory farms, global warming, etc. Those with power are ultimately judged by what they do to those with less power. What we do to others
sharing the web of life, we do to ourselves also. Cutout, I wish I knew you personally, you got guts !!! Kudos to you!!!

This is very pretentious on her part, and even worse it is anti-scientific.

Death is a normal thing for all life, and trying to figure things out (and pass the information on) is a normal thing for humans.

Ummmmmmmmm so basically you changed your name, bought the domain name, setup a one page website and have it pointing to other websites! GREAT!!!!!!!

This is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard of. Grow up little girl. I hope your parents are embarassed.

This is absolutely rediculous. As if PETA wasn't one of the least credible and most hypocritical organizations already, you went and did something to make them even more of a mockery. Seriously, you're not going to change anything. You're not going to turn everyone vegetarian or against dissection or any other thing you may try, changing your name to match a website that supports your beliefs will just make things more difficult. While you may be able to reach out to a random person here and there, the vast majority of people you talk to will forget about you quickly or brush you off as some crazy. What you did was worthless. If you really want to support a good cause, why don't you support feeding the homeless or helping the unemployed find jobs? Maybe you can help create a zero emissions vehicle. Animals are food, that's why humans are at the top of the food chain. Humans are also very curious about everything. That's why we dissect animals. We dissect other people too, they just volunteer. Here's an idea-maybe you can create an animal-human translator so we can ask the animals if they'd like to volunteer for dissection. You know, donate their bodies to science. What I've said all boils down to this: you are a waste of life.

i'm doing a newsletter on this girl & no matter what anyone has to say about why she "shouldn't of changed her name" ... she got what she wanted! she wanted attention, people to learn, and people to get their ideas going. im surprised that there are posts from today :p nicccccce work cutoutdissection.com ;]

Wow. You're sick in the head for changing your name to that nonsense. And even though you're campaigning to save the animals, I bet you're very supportive of abortion "rights. You're worse than a hypocrite because you exhalt the rights of animals above humans. I wouldn't denounce a chicken that believed it was superior to humans. Nor should I believe in their superiority over me. Get a job. Get a life.

I think it's a little strange, but so totally worth it! I could never do that, but I think it's very creative and someone is that passionate!

Okay that is pretty goofy! I think there are probably better ways to get attention. If this takes off a lot of people will do it for whatever reason and that'd make identification that much more difficult. Sometimes doing things cause you can doens't mean you should.

BTW, got a better photo, she looks kinda cute but the picture doesn't do much, maybe a glamour shot?

I am an animal lover too, but i don't think we should diss dissection, My school uses hearts that the butcher near my school would throw out if my school wasn't there to buy them. And also, the teacher tell us to respect the animal's part and to simply do the dissection and not fool around... Of course i think it's wrong to kill animals in a cruel way for dissection... but come you changed your name !! I think it's a little too extreme,
good luck having a normal life with that crazy name

I'm puzzled! Why is that so many people wasting their time on Peta's website to fight against ethical treatments toward animals? Got nothing better to do?

Parabéns,garota!!!!
Estou orgulhosa de alguém tão especial quanto você.
Você é 1 pessoa que vale a pena viver.
Obrigada, beijos!!!

Marie-eve, I have always been puzzled about that too. Why do people waste their time fighting against ethical treatment of animals or only to come to be insulting? Is that what they consider "getting a life" to mean? Go around and champion apathy against people who care about something?

I'm sure that you believe in your cause. Your passion is wonderful, and I wish that every young person could be so dedicated to a subject, but I'm afraid that I strongly disagree with your methods.

For one thing, there's the money and time issue. It must have taken an incredibly long time to go through the process of re-naming yourself, not to mention court fees, and, yes, the taxpayer dollars that we pay to keep the courts running.

Second, you have made a laughingstock out of cutoutdissection.com. I feel that I would be less likely to treat your cause with respect now that you have gone and done something as rediculous as this. You've lost my respect.

To most people, dissection is just a part of science, maybe messy and foul-smelling, but still educational. That is how I feel, and I think that that is problably how the majority of people think as well. Your cause most likely won't be changed ever, permanently and all-encompassingly, and so your time and mis-spent effort is all for naught.

All in all, I think that this is a very un-well thought out move on your part. What will you do in your future, with a name like that? Eventually, my dear you will most likely want to settle down with children and a spouse and how will you explain to young kids your name and your views. I pity you.

I'm sure you believe in, at the moment, the position that you hold, but I'm afraid that it may have not been the best idea to further your beliefs.

"People eating tasty animals is the peta i roll with" wow thats really cool...so why are you even on this site?
anyways, i actually think this is pretty freaken awesome. you seem very strong and admirable! I hope you have fun with this and raise enough awareness to end this cruelty called"science"

Even though I think this name changing act is pretty extreme, I have to say I support your decision and the courage to do it.

I understand what it means to care about something so much so that it make you go to that extreme. It might not be wise for the future, but you'll know what to do when it becomes a problem. And, aside from the money issue, nothing was harm during the process. It's just good intentions.

People often think the majority rules, but what the majority does or thinks doesn't necessary mean they are right. I think if one does something out of a certain reason and the act itself doesn't affect others, who's there to judge?

All of us, we grew up learning from our experience. Why discourage children that has a good heart?

Some of the comments on this article are absolutely ridiculous. Before I get started on that, I don't think I could make such an extreme change in MY personal life so major kudos to Cutout for believing in something so strongly that she would change her name for it. Everyone who has something negative to say about her choice...why do you care enough to take time out of your day and leave a rude comment, if you don't like what she did? Like I said, her CHOICE. She chose to make the change, not you, and it has not interfered with your personal life so stop worrying about it. Dedication is more admirable than pointless cynicism. To the people who said to worry about human problems before " the stupid animals"...everyone is wired differently. Some people have a calling to help people, and some lean towards animals. Caring about the lives and safety of animals is NOT wrong. Yes, obviously humans in general are extremely important and starving children are also extremely important but just because YOU believe it's necessary to put humans first, doesn't mean that everyone is going to do that. Again, everyone is drawn to different things. Plus, animals can feel pain just as we can, so why abandon their needs to focus on what someone else wants you to do? I know that no one is forcing anybody to do anything but commentary that I've been speaking about is completely unnecessary. Freedom of speech & all that good stuff but why be a pain in someone's ass for them doing what they think is right? I don't hate many things but rude people are definitely on the list.

Lastly, to the person who said, "Typical America...I'm so glad to be an educated Brit." Not everyone in America is an idiot, and there are plenty of other countries that have idiotic citizens. America is certainly not the only one. and your statement that suggests Cutout is uneducated was uncalled for and distasteful on your part. Apparently your education did not include a lesson on how to respect others.

yeah i think that's stupid that's taking it way too far.

Well... you don't even have the idea..today I was forced to be in the same room as a dissection... I was sick!the frog was beautiful, and the problem is that if in the place of the frog it was a person it would be inhuman, but because that creature doesn't talk, it's treated like garbage. I am tired of being the only one with a conscience. I understand you!

I think that's a really cool thing to do,
but also kind of crazy.

Good for you though.

awesome. You rock Cutout!

It's great that people take such an active stance on the things they care about. But there is a point where you need to stop. Most animals used for disection died of natural causes. I disceted a piglet not two years ago. All of the pigs used were stillborn, not mercilessly killed or pumped full of chemicals while still alive. I'd like to know where campaigns like these get their facts. Or are they even facts? Maybe they are just statements created by extremists to push their points farther, even if they aren't true or proved. Don't get me wrong here-I'm against animal cruelty and I do believe that there are alternative options to learn about the anatomy of animsl, but I still eat meat, hunt, and raise animals for market. Just because someone posts something about anything on the internet doesn't make it true. Think for yourself.

I would never change my name like that. That's so disrespectful to your parents and your heritage. What's going to happen when you get married? What's going to happen when you have children? I would be ashamed to have to introduce you to my teachers, to my friends, to my fiance's parents as "Ms. Dissection.com."

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ANYTHING SACRED

do not do this to your children.

Give them real names.

They deserve to make a choice like that on their own.

well, I'm gonna say that you probably DID think about the consquences of your actiosn here, and if you are willing to take all the crap you're no doubt getting, then great. sometimes it can be hard to make people listen, and this does give a good exscuse to explain the situation. pity the people who posted saying they dont like rats or whatever haven't talked to you! people don't get whats wrong with disections, why? because, A.) they don't give a shit. or B.) they don't know what they're talking about. the huge majority are Bs, so i reckon you'll be sweet. i wouldn't do it though. but i guess i'm just not as brave as you. good luck.

respect!

What a great way to create awareness.
Keep it up!

Geert, Netherlands.

You are all a bunch of FREAKS.

EAT MEAT AND KILL
That is what this county was built on

LOL they call her cutout that's so funny xD! But really.. I admire her for being so brave and sticking up for what she believes in, i wish i was more like that..

Some comments posted by idiots definitly should get deleted on this page. Dissection is immoral and cruel, just check out the facts and see for yourself. Don't be a pathetic moron and think you're so tough by promoting animal cruelty.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all against animal cruelty, but Cutout, how can you stand there and mindlessly regurgitate these facts and reasons why you are against dissections, when you yourself are pumped full and kept alive everyday with who knows how many vaccines and medicines that were definitely tested on animals and required dissections?

eat meat and get kill? that is not what this coutry is based on. i'm so embarassed to be part of this country if thats what ignorant people like you think. animals are living creatures just like we are. and it's actually proven that chickens are almost identical to us when it comes to DNA. maybe you should expand your mind and read more.

i think it's awesome that she believes soo strongly in cutting out dissections. maybe if more people cared about animals then we wouldn't have soo many millions of animals die every year.

i said no to dissection in my anatomy class today and i'm proud of it.

GO VEGETARIANS AND VEGANS!
YES ON PROP 2!

theres weirder things than "grown men and women kissing in public"...like people changing their names to websites - but i wont go on cos there are so many hate comments. but did you not think, there are so many people who think vegans and vegetarians and animal rights activists are mad and then you go and call yourself that? youre kinda giving us bad press. jennifer is a nice name and animals dont really care what were called.and even if you do get a chance to educate people on whats going on when they ask your name, for most of them meeting a girl called cutoutdissection.com will not be a life-changing expereince but merely one to tell your guests about over dinner next time. PLUS youre giving all the ignorant minded ones even MORE ammo! think, girl!! (i wonder what you;ll call your kids...little Sarah Dissection.com? that could be interesting )

That's so cool how someone would change their name to help animals. I would just do some big thing like PETA is, but personally I wouldn't want to change my name that my mom gave to me. And I wouldn't ruin my body by getting a tail or tattoo or something. But I would deffinantly build a group of animal activist.

xox AbbiAdict

whoot, whoot!!
wow you are totally rad!!
i really idolize you, Cutout Dissection.com!!

wow 100% AWESOMENESS! go vegans and vegetarians! and while youre at it, vote on prop 2!!!!!!!!! awoooooo!!

it shows how little you care about the worlds economy and personal interaction if you felt the only way to raise awareness was by changing your name and posting it on the internet.
seriously there are other ways to change the world

why do people fail realise that there are more important things in the world than the life of a rat? no offence but people are dying of starvation everyday but you choose to campaign for this? its disgusting.

I´m really pround on you:).

Hi! I'm from Ukraine. Cutout Dissection.com, you really grate person! Let me congratulate you) Your story is known by all the World!

I seriously doubt that Jenny will go the rest of her life with her new-found label, folks. It's all about awareness and by the looks of the great number of comments she's receiving , her plan is working. But I would bet that most of you grumblers & name callers haven't even looked at her sight so couldn't possibly know what is driving her spirit. Educate yourself & take a look, you may be surprised at what you'll find you never knew & that you may actually care about.

Just hand people a leaflet it will work better and not be wierd in a bad way - veganhealth.org/colleges.

What will you do when all forms of animal cruelty in general will be abolished? Are you still going to keep your name?

u shouldnt have changed ur name :/

hahahaha que ridiculo.

So cutout must be pro-life?

This makes me embarassed to be a vegetarian.

Wow that's great, but i would never change my name i'd do something else like a protest thing or somthin' but what ever makes you happy good job Cutout!

At first I thought this was not real, Peta has so many ways to address such subjects. This is immature thinking, many people this why fly right by them. Then you are just stuck with the name. Please!

i read about it on the AFI message board and this seriously pretty stupid, and im glad im not the one who thinks like that
if someone introduced themselves to me like cutoutdissection.com and i had no idea what it was, i would just feel sorry for their name.

Congrats on being so determined! And to anyone who says that changing your name may be the stupidest way to promote the site AND the cause, it's even stupider to cut up animals just for a cheap eduacation.

This girl has guts.
And I think the reason for her choice is amazing!

Laaaaaaame. Out of all the issues plaguing this world, she chose "dissecting animals" as the one that she is going to address? I guess "to each his own" ... but seriously? I mean, there's human trafficking and war and poverty and drug abuse and rape and criminality and all the Michael Vicks in this world, etc.

But, cool, good job, wow, you really care about something that is truly important in this world, didn't you, Jenny? Man, congratulations, you're not insane at all.

i want to make friends with u

WOW she is so awesme cuzz she wants to cut out dissection and thats great cuzz lots of animals die cuz of it... I had too dissect a frog, and a mice and a cat, but i didn't soo i got an F and i didn't care cuz i care about animals...

so awesome.

wat is this...i mean dude for real do somethin else wit ur life...so some frog is gettin cut up or whatver..how else would doctors learn anything....i mean would u let someone who didnt kno anythin bout the body work on u....seriously more important things in the world then a couple of frogs and worms getting cut up..and lets face it some ppl wouldnt survive if they couldnt hunt animals or whatver..ever thought of that...yea think a lil before you go around and change ur name..do somethin more important wit ur life...UR MAKIN ME REGRET THAT I EVER MOVED HERE..this is why im movin bak to my country next yr its cuz of ppl like u..u idiot...

It's good to see someone so passionate. Tell me how do you think doctor learn what's inside the body before they go in ? Some began taking cadaver from cemetery and doing dissection in the middle of the night because it wasn't permitted. You want an alternative with computer ... I say you want the easy way out. Where do you think they would get the simulation ? Don't worry there is no point in what I'm saying, it's only how things are. Then again it's nice to see someone ready to do so much for what they want or not. Wish you luck in whatever you goal is ...

That is so amasing! i would have never thought about that. I could just imagine peoples faces when you tell them what your name is.

It's a really great way to help educate people on how badly animals are treated!

I think it is ridiculous that you would change your name. If your time and effort were put into the proper channels, you could actually make a big difference. Now you have a strange name because we liberal individuals are too quick to dismiss working with government.

Instead of blaming government for being evil, use them. The system is there so people have a way to improve our society.

wow this is pretty dumb to change your name to a website. obviously you are not mature enough to come up w/ other ideas to promote your view. wow this is really dumb.

I think that it's so cool that Jenny changed her name to Cutout Dissection.com. I don't think I could or would do that but I'm glad she's letting people know how wrong dissection is. Go Cutout!

to poppy, josh, ect. Why are you even on here if you're just going to bash us? Cutout took a stand, and she should be commended, not made fun of. good job cutout!

cutout dissection. com...how do you expect the doctors of tomorrow to save your life one day if they at some point in history had never dissected an animal? would you really want some surgeon to work on you if he's never even seen the insides of an animal? you dont honestly believe that healthcare workers of today earned their title of doctor and nurse due to studying out of a book, computer simulation, and 3D images do you? draw the line somewhere. dissection is a must for medicine and the animals are getting cut up before the human.

i can appreciate how passionate you are about your belief even if i disagree with it...but i think i just referred to you as "crazy" when relaying your story.

Wouldn't it have been so much more productive to have done some actual research into alleged "animal cruelty", obtained a degree in a related field, and then gone to work for an industry that provides an ethical alternative to dissection? This way you provide society with something more than just another self-aggrandizing, over-entitled whiny teenager who makes stupid decisions. Trust me honey, we got a whole country full of attention whores and publicity hounds like yourself...

That's really cool.

Wow, Really amazing stuff. you really wouldn't understand a selfless person who's committed enough to a cause to do something beyond what's commonly considered rational.

yeah great job,

I Really strongly agree with your cause, but seriously? Ms. Dissection? or can I call you Cutout? save the animal's lives, yes, but...that is kinda sad!!!

what a creative, original idea! to all of those who say that it was a waste of time and money, well, it isnt ur time and money, nobodys asking u 2 change ur name. it is obviously a bigger waste of time 2 go on a comment board u disagree w/ just 2 post ridiculous shit when none of u would EVER do anything more than send 10 bucks 2 a cause u blieve in. while i don't think i would go this far myself, i have heard of other cases where people changed their names, like som1 whos last names Fisher changing 2 Fishfriend. Congrats, Cutout! The world needs more people like u who r willing 2 take a stand 4 what they blieve in.

I think your cause is absolutely worthwhile

For all those who said it is a waste of money, if you want to spend your money on video games, and she wants to spend it saving lives, SHUT UP.

I also believe, that if stars can name their kids "Silo" and "Apple" and probably in the near future "Piece of crap", you can change yours to a worthy cause

Ignore the close-minded idiots that don't understand. At least they know about the cause now (:

DUDE!!! AWESOME NAME!!! Your idea and your passion for animals can teach everybody a thing or two about what the hell we could do for mammals other than OURSELVES!!! And yes, I might sound like an idiot, and yes I might sound like I need to lay down, and to all who say that I say... SHUT UP!!!

Oh and by the way to the people who say her name is stupid you say that celebrities are allowed to name their kids after FRUITS!!

It was your choice to change your name like that. I suppose it is a good thing that you are so passionate but i won't be suprised if you change your name back sooner or later.

the people who comment on this stuff sound mean! seriously people lighen up! she wanted to change her name and she didn't have to ask for ya'lls permission. i agree with Julia and Alyson if you let celebrities name their kids after fruits and not bring Hell up about then leave Cutout alone.
and kudos to Cutout for having for having that kind of spirit, passion, and creativity for Peta.

I totally agree!!! I love animals and think all of their lives should be spared. I understand if the animals are already dead but the fact that people kill animals is what buggs me. I refuse to dissect killed animals!

NEXT TIME YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME IT SHOULD BE
"TOMUCHFREETIME.com"

I have been a vegetarian since I was five, by choice, in school I received a C in biology for refusing to dissect animals and have been a member of PETA for years but bloody hell this is ridiculous!

not really sure what to say

saw you at earthfare on fairtrade day. told you about a movie but couldn't remember the name....it's called "black gold" about the fair trade business. greatly helps awareness of the movement, ..really well done. you can get it at the library on an availability basis.

...i like your cause. hope you can make a dent.

Forget what everyone else says thats bad...

I sure agree this is a worthy cause - but there are other ways to make your point.

YOU GO GIRL! What a great cause, keep up with the great work.

SO great of you for what you did . Keep up the good work . BE THEIR VOICE FOR THE ANIMALS YOU GO

I admire your dedication cutout. While I support your cause I would'nt want to change my name for it. But I fully support your decision to do so.
It's brilliant really, but like someone else suggested if you ever want to travel abroad you may have problems with a name like that on your passport.

Dissection is what is shameful, not her. There is so much cruelty involved, along with waste of money for schools. She should be admired, not ridiculed.

Early systematic human dissections were carried out by the Greek physicians Herophilus of Chalcedon and Erasistratus of Chios in the early part of the third century BC. Before and after this time investigators appeared to largely limit themselves to non-human animals.

I like that you are so dedicated, but did you have to go to the extremes of changing your name?
