Comments: Adidas Scores, Big Time, for Australian Sheep!

Comments

I know Australia have said they'll phase out mulesing by 2010 but until they stop completely I will continue the boycott.

ouch i could NOT imagine having part of my butt cut off with a pair of scissors.

GOOD JOB ADIDAS!!

and as for Tony Burke it does suck to be him.

it's so shocking to know that this sort of thing actually goes on. i was completely oblivious to the fact that these lambs are being treated this way. OUTRAGOUS.

WOOHOO GO ADIDAS, im buying my sportswear from THEM. ouchhhh it would be agony to have my butt cut of with a giant pair of scissors! i seriously would like to do the same to the animal abusers as what they do 2 the animals..

Yes, I like it better if my butt was NOT cut off by scissors, thank you. I'm definetely signing this

YAY!!! I didn't wear them in the first place but yay them, lol.

Anything not normal involving the butt is painful!!! Seriously...why wait till 2010 to stop mulesing? Are they on the waiting list to see if they win the Bastards of the Year award? Cuz I think for the next 2 years Donna Karan and KFC have those won!

I can't even imagine my own rear end being cut off. It probably would hurt like there is no tomorrow.

To Adidas: Congratulations on making a big step for animals and I look forward to seeing non-wool products from you.

And to Tony...I bet it sucks to be you now! lol

I feel disappointed that PETA has chosen to mislead the world with their uneducated opinion on mulesing. Australian Farmers are on track to end the process (as promised) by 2010 as soon as a viable alternative is raised. How about you see what the effects are on sheep and lambs who haven't been mulsed, suffering and dying?

I notice you fail to mention the full reasons WHY sheep are mulsed in your article, including the slow, painful death they would be subjected to when infested by flies and maggots. While rock singer Pink intially joined PETA in their stand against mulesing, she later retracted the statement saying that she had "not researched the issue properly" and "Australia is my favourite country".

Australian farmers are already doing things tough in one of the worlds most drought affected countries, the stand PETA has taken suggesting wool retailers boycott Australian wool is (in my opinion) dangerous and stupid for sheep, farmers, retailers and the public. It would inevitably increase prices for consumers and unnecesarily torture and kill many thousands of Australian sheep who are otherwise well looked after.

I ask that PETA re-think their stand against mulesing, as the Australian wool industry is doing everything they can to end this practice within 2 years.

Wow, that is really sad. I didn't even know that was going on, and I agree, anything unnatural happening to a...backside is wrong and rather...disturbing.

It really does hurt to be Tony.

PS Yay for Adidas

okay? fer real that is probably the most idiotic thing, EVER.... eh no they're some other issues on Peta that are stupider. But anyways, Who in the heck would cut the lambs butt off, just to prevent it from Maggots? arent there better ways to go about that?
and if you are cutting parts of somethings body off without any form of pain killers, or medication to reduce infection, they wont get maggots.... BUT WAIT!!! they'll get an infection of and open cut/wound that may or may not KILL them. THANX ALOT ANIMAL ABUSERS.

but on another note, thank you adidas for stopping the mulesing of lambs =]

bien hecho ADIDAS!!

That's a very very good new!

i had no idea some of these things were going on, it's really sick to think about.
And every chance i get to help stop animal abuse i take it.

But perhaps none of you have heard about what Adidas di in California as far as repealing the 35 yr. ban on kangaroo skins, which they did by circumventing judicial law.
They were pending a Supreme Court lawsuit for importing kangaroo skin soccer balls and footwear into California against the ban, and used their economic prowess to get the Ca. Assembly to pass a piece of legislation (SB 880)that went through...so they were essentially rewarded for breaking the law, AND they made/paid for it to happen.
Way to go Adidas! I'd like to kick a soccer (futbol) up yer' arse!

That is awful, but at least they are doing sum to protect them.
I wish there was people interested in the animal protection in Mexico

I posted a very relevant comment on Adidas' past track record when it comes to animal-friendly decisions, specifically the recent overturning of the 35 yr. ban on importing kangaroo skins into the state of California which they personally funded to make happen...what gives with not posting it up for others to see?
I work for a competing footwear manufacturer, but regardless will never buy another Adidas anything as long as I live - and I love Run DMC and old-school hip hop!
But seriously what's with the censorship??

really great news for all of us!
cogratulations!!

itz really a very nice to hv a glance peta's activities

my parents own a sporting good store and sale alotttt of adidas products and i had no idea the abuse involved in making their clothes.

i am very happy to hear they're reducing the suffering and abuse of the sheep :DD
