that's great that she got her school to offer more vegetarian/ vegan foods at her school. i am thinking about doing something similar to that and the local nutrionist said that would be a great idea. and then the kids could try it and realize that the food is better than it sounds.
and i liked the question about Col. Sanders.
And as for the media being amazed that a TEENAGER pulled something this awesome together, they should get used to it. Teenagers are finally using their voices to show they do have a place in society, and you have proven that many teenagers have voices big enough to make a difference.
Dude that's awesome you got to get that accomplished. Something like that should happen at my school, since the closest thing to vegetarian cuisine at sandburg is cheese pizzia. Everybody has a voice and I think you've shown you have the courage to do so. I think I'll do something for sandburg after finding out about you. very inspirational.

i'm a vegan in a small town middle school. i can't eat a single thing on my school's menu. i've thought about trying to get vegan food items in my school, but everyone in my class thinks i'm crazy as it is. they just can't grasp the fact that some people just don't want to harm animals. but what really pisses me off are the people who say they love animals and have never hurt one in their lives, and yet every day they eat burgers and chicken and hotdogs for lunch at school. some people just don't get it. as soon as i'm in high school, i'm going to try to get vegan and vegetarian food choices in my school. until then, i'll keep bringing my lunch. your accomplishments have made me realize that making a change in my school is possible!
Great job! I have tried this so many times at my school! I didn't get the Health Board involved though so i might try that next time! My town is small and crappy so that means they can be stubborn and stick to their beliefs. Plus, all the Principals discriminate against the students and refuse to listen to us because we are "kids"! It makes me so mad! Once again, good going Ashley! :)
P.S. (Colonel Sanders is dead and has no coralation with the creulty of chickens at KFC farms. He was actually a nice man. lol but that doesnt excuse the abuse)

I think what you did is really amazing.
Honestly.
