Who Watched the VMAs? September 14, 2009

One minute I'm in awe of the Michael Jackson tribute, next I'm loving Lady Gaga and her handsome date—Kermit the frog, the next minute I'm stoked on Katy Perry channeling her inner Freddie Mercury (Queen, anyone?), and then I found myself wagging my finger at my TV all like: "Oh no you didn't, Kanye!"
But in all seriousness, let's talk about my favorite performance of the night—a creative and jaw-dropping show from our friend Pink! If you missed out, most of her performance was done off the stage and up in the air for her take on a circus trapeze act while singing her hit song "Sober."

Once penning a letter to Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley in support of an elephant-protection ordinance that would eliminate the use of elephants in Chicago's circuses by banning the use of bullhooks and electric prods, there was really no doubt in my mind that Pink's circus performance would be free of animals. Kudos, Pink!
What did you think of the VMAs?
McCruelty, Tigers, and Michael Jackson...Oh My! July 10, 2009
Posted by Ryan at July 10, 2009 12:19 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 14 ) | TrackBackIn the past week, we've been front and center—from coast to coast! Ready to go on a cross-country trip? Here we go!
Starting in the Big Apple, activists staged a fun "Tiger's Revenge" demonstration outside of a Ringling Bros. Circus show in New York's legendary Coney Island. As the locals would say, "Cruelty to animals? Fuggedaboutit."
Venturing out to the Windy City, we also grabbed media attention in Ronald McDonald's home state, by projecting our message about McCruelty onto the side of buildings all over Chicago! I can only imagine the horror on the face of a McDonald's executive, as they walk to dinner on a warm Illinois night, only to see this ...
Finally, our activists drew loads of attention in Hollywood, bringing our meatless message to the mourning masses at Michael Jackson's memorial (I like alliteration—so sue me). As we've mentioned time and time again, there's no better way to stay fit and healthy than to cut out animal products. Just ask this sequinne-gloved Lettuce Lady!

So which one's your favorite? I personally think the McCruelty projections are brilliant. Leave your comment below!
