Who Went To The Bamboozle? May 6, 2008

Posted by Pulin Modi at May 6, 2008 11:00 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 4 ) | TrackBack

Whoa! The Bamboozle over the weekend was so incredible and tiring (in a good way) that I had to take yesterday off to recover. I was totally exhausted. If you went, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. Our tent was the place to be with thousands of people signing our petition, bands stopping in to say hello, and lots of free stuff for everyone.

What was your favorite part if you went to The Bamboozle? And if you didn't go, how was your weekend?

Here are some of my favorite photos from the weekend.

You all really love Matthew Lush, don't you?

We met so many amazing Street Teamers. It was bonkers.

My friend put on the head from our rabbit costume, took off his shirt, and ran on stage.

Thanks to everyone on the Street Team for stopping by, and make sure you check out the Fur Is Dead campaign page to keep up the campaign to get 100,000 Strong Against Fur!

Apparently I Am A Rising Star April 21, 2008

Posted by Pulin Modi at April 21, 2008 12:35 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 1 ) | TrackBack

Hi peeps. I just got back from a whole week out of the office in California. It was lots of fun. At Yosemite National Park, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the park grocery store has soy milk and rice milk, vegan cookies, vegan yogurt, vegan ice cream, vegan cream cheese, all sorts of frozen vegan meals, and more! It's a sure sign that all the hard work we're doing is creating a demand for these healthier, more humane options!

Also, my bro has a new movie out this week so I went to Leno and a fancy premiere, plus the set of that show House and all that with the family. I also checked out the John Steinbeck museum in Salinas (he's one of my favorite authors), hung out with John Feldmann of Goldfinger and met up with Matthew Lush. Of course, I ate amazing food everywhere I went including Real Food Daily and Vegan Plate in Los Angeles. There was also an awesome coffee shop near Sequoia National Park where I had this incredible tofu scrambler for breakfast.

So that's that and now I'm back in lovely Norfolk, Virginia, where we're based. It's really a great place to work. I recently did an interview for a site called Experience.com for their "Rising Stars" section. It's all about how I got interested in working for peta2 and what I do, so check it out here and remember to check out peta2.com/jobs for opportunities to come here and work for animal rights!

Take care!

P.S.- Have you seen this yet?

Bamboozle Left - What a Weekend! April 10, 2008

Posted by Marta at April 10, 2008 11:11 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 3 ) | TrackBack

If you were at Bamboozle Left this weekend, hopefully you were one of the thousands of people that checked out the peta2 booth and signed our Fur is Dead petition. If you didn't get the chance, or missed Bamboozle Left, make sure you sign the petition online here.

We also had some of the lovely Skelanimals models come by our booth in support of the campaign and helped us draw attention to the cruelties that go on in the fur industry. A big Thank You to Mathew Lush, Audrey Kitching, Linda Strawberry, Forbidden, Aldo, Anita K, and Davey Suicide for coming out and supporting a good cause!

We also had Fred Mascherino from The Color Fred and formerly of Taking Back Sunday stop by our booth and do an autograph signing, so big thanks to Fred, too.

If you're on the East Coast, make sure you come see us at Bamboozle in NJ on May 3rd and 4th. See you soon!

-Paul

Win Our New Skelanimals 'Fur Is Dead' Tee! March 17, 2008

Posted by Ashleigh at March 17, 2008 9:14 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 3117 ) | TrackBack

I hope that all of you reading this have given real fur the boot. Fur is absolutely unnecessary. For one, "Fur is dead"! Secondly, it makes you look bad. And thirdly, the fur industry tortures helpless animals. No one should support an industry that keeps animals confined in unnatural conditions only to skin them alive or kill them by breaking their necks, bashing their heads in, or anally or vaginally electrocuting them.

If you haven't already, it's time for you to join us in saying N-O to fur. We want to have 100,000 strong against fur. Please sign the petition and help us reach our goal!

Now that you've signed our petition, it's time to tell your friends and family that fur is dead. One easy way to get the message across is by sporting our exclusive Skelanimals "Fur Is Dead" tee like Audrey Kitching and Matthew Lush!

Matthew Lush - Fur Is Dead! March 3, 2008

Posted by Lara Sanders at March 3, 2008 1:34 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 11 ) | TrackBack

Matthew%20Lush%20-%20peta2.JPGHey guys! By now you must've seen our amazing new "Fur Is Dead" site. If not, check it out NOW! One of my favorite things about the site is seeing all of the wonderful people who have taken part in the campaign. One such person is the absolutely adorable and former Cutest Vegetarian Alive Winner Matthew Lush!

Using the screen name "GayGod", 19 year old Matthew Lush uses technology as his means for promoting causes near to his heart (animal rights and a vegan lifestyle). In the process, his live video streams have vaulted him to the #1 most viewed user on the website Stickam.com, and among the all-time most viewed/"befriended" users on Buzznet and MySpace.

Here's a little Q&A we did with Matthew to find our why he wanted to take part in the "Fur Is Dead" campaign:

What do you define as your personal style?
My personal style is cruelty-free and 100% vegan. I'm careful before I add an article of clothing to my body.

Do you have any fashion "do's" and "don'ts"?
Don't wear fur! If you knew the cruelty that went into making a fur coat, you'd agree it's disgusting!

Why do you choose not to wear real fur?
Fur is tacky and uncalled for. Wear your own skin!!!

What is your favorite animal? Why?
Koala. They're just so cute! I want a baby one.

Do you have a favorite vegetarian dish? If so, what is it?
Tofurky roast with mashed potatoes.

Thanks Matthew! Stay tuned to the peta2 blog for more updates from all the lovely people taking part in the "Fur Is Dead" campaign!

xoxo-Lara

P.S. Please sign the 100,000 Strong Against Fur Pledge if you haven't already!

P.P.S. You can get the tee Matthew is wearing here!

Matthew Lush's Top 10 February 13, 2008

Posted by Pulin Modi at February 13, 2008 11:35 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 9 ) | TrackBack

If you don't know Matthew Lush (a.k.a. Gay God), you probably haven't spent all that much time on MySpace or YouTube. He's one of the most popular users on both sites with hundreds of thousands of people checking out his pages every month. And the best part is that Matthew is vegan and dedicated to animal rights.

Check out this fun video he made about the "Top Ten Reasons I Won't Date A Meat-Eater," just in time for Valentine's Day.

It just went up over the weekend, but over 200,000 people have already checked it out! We'd love to see your own videos so do it up and send us a link!

-Pulin

P.S.- Matthew also talks about peta2 and animal rights every Tuesday night on his Stickam show. So check it out.
