peta2's 3rd annual Libby Awards are almost upon us! (You know, the awards where we recognize all the amazing companies, bands, and people who are helping animals.)
We want to know who YOU want nominated. So, if it were all up to you, who would you nominate for the following categories?
- Person of the Year (this is a new category this year!)

Speaking of presents, I'm hoping Santa is bringing me lots of cute vegan shoes, which reminds me that it's almost time for peta2's third annual Libby Awards!
The Libbys are peta2's way of recognizing veg-friendly foods and restaurants, and animal-friendly companies, bands, celebs, labels, athletes, and movies among others. Oh, and here's where you come in, we want your input!
Got a favorite clothing company, shoe, or line of cruelty-free cosmetics you can't live without? Tell us about it!
What companies or products would you nominate for the following categories?
- Best Animal-Friendly Clothing Company (Skelanimals was last year's winner.)
- Best Men's Vegan Sneaker (Macbeth's Aberdale Vegan ran away with the prize in 2007.)
- Best Cruelty-Free Cosmetic Company (Last year e.l.f. wiped out the competition.)
- Best Women's Vegan Shoe (My fave category! Keds Eleanor Grosch Skimmers was your fave shoe for 2007.)
- Best Cruelty-Free Hair Product (Manic Panic Hair Dye topped last year's list.)

Music Libby Awards
My favorite time of year is upon us: Frosty weather, gift-giving, vegan hot chocolate, a new year ahead, and... peta2's 3rd annual Libby Awards! The Libby Awards are peta2's way of showing appreciation for veg-friendly foods, restaurants, movies, clothing, and bands, and we need your help!
Have you ever noticed a band or artist who goes above and beyond all others to speak up for animals through their lifestyle, actions, lyrics, or videos? We want to hear about it!
If it were completely up to you, who would you nominate for the following categories?
- Best Hip Hop Artist (Last year's winner was Masta Killa)
- Most Animal-Friendly Record Label (Victory Records beat everyone out last year!)
- Best Animal-Friendly Band (The super supportive Silverstein took the gold in 2007...)
- Breakthrough Band (Best Newcomers to peta2) (I'm personally pulling for The Birthday Massacre because I am a closet spooky kid!)

It's time for peta2's 3rd annual Libby Awards nominations, and we need your help! There are so many amazing animal-friendly products out there these days that we just can't keep track of them all. Throughout the month, peta2 staffers will be blogging about all the different categories and asking for your suggestions, so tell us what you can't get enough of! Voting will begin in January, so keep an eye out to see if your suggestions made it.
If you were the master of the Libby Awards, who would you nominate for the following categories? I put some of my picks below—not to entice you or anything...
- Best Vegan Junk Food (Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos!)
- Best Vegan Cookies
- Best Vegan Frozen Dessert (Purely Decadent Peanut Butter Zig Zag)
- Best Veggie Burger
- Most Vegan-Friendly Restaurant Chain (P.F. Chang's)
- Most Vegan-Friendly Fast Food Chain
- Best Vegan Chocolate (Don't even get me started...I'm addicted to basically every vegan chocolate in existence)
- Best Vegan Candy (Peanut Chews—Original Dark)
- Best Cookbook
- Best Fake Meat (Gardenburger BBQ Riblets)
- Best Dairy Alternative (in the spirit of things—Silk Nog!)
