Arch Enemy Tour! November 13, 2009

I get into many conversations with people about how awesome it is to live on the west coast because of the awesome weather, great vegan food and laid back attitude. Something else I often forget to mention is that we get AWESOME shows that come through town, and my friends, this tour I am about to announce is no exception.

Some of you may know Arch Enemy as the shredding metal band from Sweden whose front woman Angela Gossow ran in PETA's 2009 Sexiest Vegetarian Contest. We are super pumped to introduce their Tyrants Of Evil tour with Exodus, Arsis and Mutiny Within. A few of the members in Arch Enemy are veg, and probably well aware of what they never told you, and the negative impacts of factory farming on all of our lives.

By the looks of it, when you go to the show you can expect to see lots of headbanging, moshing and other sweaty activities that will leave you wanting to pack up and follow the tour buses. I have seen them a few times before, and it really was awesome!

Head on over to Arch Enemy's MySpace page for all of the tour dates and feel free to comment that you love them for supporting peta2!

Hey all (take it easy on me as this is my first blog)! I am really excited to let you guys in on a little news about an upcoming tour that we are stoked to be a part of. Between The Buried And Me who have taken the pledge to be veg as well as their "Vegans Shred Harder" PSA are going on tour in January.

So when they asked us to help spread the word of their upcoming tour in January, we couldn't be happier! They are heading out with metal legends Cynic, The Devin Townsend Band and Scale The Summit. It will be going ALL across the US, so you really have no excuse to not get out and support these shredding vegans in Between The Buried and Me. For those of you that have never heard the band, just imagine playing your favorite guitar video game, on expert with your eyes closed. That's how good these dudes are.

For show info, songs from their new record The Great Misdirect (which is AWESOME by the way), and a ton of other information check out their MySpace and become informed.

If you do go out to one of the shows, let us know how it was or even better tell the guys in Between The Buried and Me that peta2 sent you. They love to hear that fellow animal lovers support their music and their cause. Don't sleep on buying your tickets early, this will sell out!

peta2 Loves Metal! Do You? February 24, 2009

In my opinion, there really isn't anything more awesome than a badass metal band that isn't afraid to speak up for animals—and Lamb of God is a perfect example of this! Bass player John Campbell once told us that if he could say anything to KFC CEO David Novak, he would tell him that he hoped his money made him comfortable in Hell, because if there is any justice, he would suffer. If that wasn't awesome enough, Drummer Chris Adler has been a vegetarian for years, and he once starred in a "Vegetarian Testimonial" PSA for us. Check it out below!

John and Chris are living proof that you won't lose any tough metal cred if you speak out for animals. That said, if you buy anything today other than delicious vegan food, I am highly suggesting that you go to your local music store and pick up Lamb of God's new album, Wrath, which comes out today! The band is also going on tour in support of Wrath, so check out the tour dates on their MySpace page and see if they're bringing "true American metal" to a city near you!

What show are you going to?

PS: If you like metal—check out our features with Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Converge, and most recently, Trivium!
