Goldfinger Show! July 29, 2008

Posted by Pulin Modi at July 29, 2008 2:37 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 2 ) | TrackBack

Our buddy Cody and some of his peeps recently tabled a Goldfinger concert in Arizona. In addition to checking a great show, they talked to tons of people about the Woof campaign. Then, after their set, our buddies John and Charlie from Goldfinger stopped by the peta2 table to meet some fans, talk about animal rights, and promote the Woof campaign. Don't you wish you were there?

And if you all haven't seen the video for John Feldmann's song, Free Me, check it out.

Here's an awesome cover that some Street Teamers did of the song, too.

Do you have a favorite animal rights song?

Apparently I Am A Rising Star April 21, 2008

Posted by Pulin Modi at April 21, 2008 12:35 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 1 ) | TrackBack

Hi peeps. I just got back from a whole week out of the office in California. It was lots of fun. At Yosemite National Park, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the park grocery store has soy milk and rice milk, vegan cookies, vegan yogurt, vegan ice cream, vegan cream cheese, all sorts of frozen vegan meals, and more! It's a sure sign that all the hard work we're doing is creating a demand for these healthier, more humane options!

Also, my bro has a new movie out this week so I went to Leno and a fancy premiere, plus the set of that show House and all that with the family. I also checked out the John Steinbeck museum in Salinas (he's one of my favorite authors), hung out with John Feldmann of Goldfinger and met up with Matthew Lush. Of course, I ate amazing food everywhere I went including Real Food Daily and Vegan Plate in Los Angeles. There was also an awesome coffee shop near Sequoia National Park where I had this incredible tofu scrambler for breakfast.

So that's that and now I'm back in lovely Norfolk, Virginia, where we're based. It's really a great place to work. I recently did an interview for a site called Experience.com for their "Rising Stars" section. It's all about how I got interested in working for peta2 and what I do, so check it out here and remember to check out peta2.com/jobs for opportunities to come here and work for animal rights!

Take care!

P.S.- Have you seen this yet?

peta2's Take Action Conference in LA! May 14, 2007

Posted by Marta at May 14, 2007 4:24 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 1 ) | TrackBack

I would like to start off this blog by saying that in the last three days I have flown to and from Los Angeles, seen my entire family (including my adorable nieces and nephew), spoke at the peta2 Take Action Conference at UCLA, went out to dinner with John Feldmann (you know, the genius behind "Free Me" and Goldfinger's frontman), and was forced to spend an unfortunately large quantity of time with Pulin in airports/airplanes. I know, pity me.

So anyway, Saturday was our second-ever Take Action Conference, and it was pretty sweet. A bunch of Street Teamers came out and learned from peta2 staffers how they can help animals through outreach, on their campus, and online. Check out a group shot below (peta2 staffers are in the peta2 shirts! And yup, I'm the third from the left.)

The highlight of the conference for me was seeing John Feldmann perform "Free Me." He's such an amazing guy and even did a Q & A after he performed. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture!

After the conference, a bunch of us went out to a delicious vegan dinner at Madeleine Bistro with John, his wife Amy, and his adorable son Julian. And yes, we were all facing the sidewalk when we ate! Didn't you hear it's the cool new way to eat?

Check out the absolutely mouth-watering vegan chocolate soufflé with soy vanilla ice cream that Ryan and I devoured for dessert (notice that I couldn't even wait to take a bite before Ryan snapped a picture - a chunk is missing):

All in all, it was an awesome day, and I can't wait to see all the great things the Street Teamers I met are doing for animals!

Marta
