Vegan Tacos with Jess from The Veronicas! March 3, 2009
Posted by Shannon Phillips at March 3, 2009 10:22 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 4 ) | TrackBackAs if we didn't already love The Veronicas enough for their awesome music and their stance on the fur industry, we discovered that Jess made an instructional video for fans on how to make delicious vegan tacos! My favorite thing about Jess' recipe is that she includes olive juice in her fresh guacamole mix. Who would've thought? Jess' videos bring back fond memories for me—last August, the ladies of peta2 gathered at my apartment for vegan taco night, and it was so much fun! So watch Jess' videos below, invite some friends over, have your own taco night, and try not to burn your veggie burger crumbles like I did. Oops!

Jess is living proof that bands can still eat delicious vegetarian meals while on their tour buses! For more on The Veronicas, check out their updated schedule on MySpace and see if they're coming to a town near you!
The Veronicas' Jess Gives Fur The Diss! January 30, 2009
Posted by Shannon Phillips at January 30, 2009 4:03 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 6 ) | TrackBackIf you didn't already love The Veronicas for their infectiously catchy single, "Untouched"—you'll be sure to love one half of the sisterly duo for what she has to say about the disgusting fur industry.

Not only is Jess fur-free, but as this article proves, she isn't shy to give the fur trade a major diss and give us a shout out in the process! She told Confidential "Death for these animals is a horror story—the most common method used for killing foxes is electrocution. I can't speak for Lisa [her twin and band mate], but I admire the approach to the eye-catching photo shoots PETA do to get the important message out there." Jess certainly knows her stuff when it comes to the fur trade, and we're very appreciative that she's not afraid to speak up.
Not only is Jess unafraid to speak her mind with words, but Jess was recently spotted on a train with a "F**K FUR" patch adorning the back of her jacket. Sassy, much? We love it!
And since no pro-animal deed should go unrewarded, we sent the twins flowers and thanked them for their kind words.
P.S. You can speak up too! What are you waiting for?
