Cobra Starship Says Down with Fur! April 28, 2008

Posted by Nicole at April 28, 2008 9:37 AM | TrackBack

The very good people of Cobra Starship are at it again. And when I say again, I mean Gabe and crew are helping more animals. Oh I love that Cobra, just love 'em!

This time Gabe, along with the rest of the fine Cobra clan, have teamed up with their Fueled By Ramen family, Youth Noise, and peta2 to say "¡Down With Fur!"

Gabe and the gang realize that millions of animals being drowned, beaten to death, strangled, gassed, electrocuted, and even skinned alive every year for the fur on their backs is just plain wrong. And did you know that many of these defenseless animals are cats and dogs, too? Fur is reprehensible, outdated, and completely unnecessary and that's why Cobra is speaking out against this filthy, hideous industry and decided to make it their cause on Youth Noise. Check out their brand-spankin' new widget below and click on the "grab it" button to get the code to add it to your page!

Easy as all hell, now wasn't it?

Also make sure you head over to our friends at Youth Noise to check out what other important issues people are talking about and join a cause yourself. Of course we're all passionate about animal rights here, but we also recognize that there are a lot of other important issues out there that need your attention, too. Youth Noise and their "MyCauseIs" tool is a great way to learn and get involved. Our dear Cobra friends want you to get off your asses and do something to make the world a better place. So whatever cause affects you most, get to it!

Oh and remember, like Gabe says, "Throw your fangs in the air, if you a true playa (but you can't be a playa if you're getting played by the fur trade)."

Did I mention how much I love Cobra? If I already did, well then I'm just re-iterating the fact with total and complete glee.

Hope all is lovely.

Beautiful People Saving Beautiful Animals April 24, 2008

Posted by Marta at April 24, 2008 9:47 AM | TrackBack

This week on the west coast, The Lady Road Warriors have been holding it down, hanging with Tegan and Sara, hitting up places like HSU and UC Davis, and getting thousands more to pledge 100,000 Strong Against Fur!

And of course we've been eating our faces off! We stopped in Pizza Plaza in Oakland, CA, for vegan pizza, and brace yourself, CHOCOLATE CAKE.

At HSU we stopped by Wildflower Café. We got down on Wildflower burgers, and VEGAN Mac and Cheese, holla.

We've been having a blast out here and love you all for your help and support. NONE of this would be possible with out you!

Stay tuned to see where we end up next.

Jam out,

Paige xoxo

Get A Life Tour and The Food Revolution! April 18, 2008

Posted by Marta at April 18, 2008 2:37 PM | TrackBack

Howdy friends! This last week has been a busy one with lots of great food and meeting more amazing people on the Rockstar Get A Life Tour.

I have a couple amazing highlights from the last week. First, I want to thank all of the amazing folks that have been coming out and pledging to be fur-free! You all are INCREDIBLE!

Second, the food has been really, really tasty. It was hard to pick a favorite, so I will tell you about three amazing spots. First, our great friend, and amazing Street Teamer, Pat of Rochester, NY, showed us Dogtown where we almost had vegan heart attacks (sarcasm, but the meal was real hearty!).

The next place I really enjoyed was Nice Slice in Providence, RI. I love pizza and this place could be the vegan pizza masters! Check out the vegan BBQ 'chicken' pizza!

Finally, my new favorite calzone can be found at Little Anthony's in Albany, NY. Vegan cheese, pineapple, vegan chicken, and vegan riblets is what you should order. Weird combo, but you will thank me later when you try it!

Hearts and farts,
Cody
