All Time Low and Four Year Strong Think Animal Testing Breaks Hearts! August 21, 2009
Posted by Megan Rondeau at August 21, 2009 12:41 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 2 ) | TrackBackI'm saddened to say that Warped Tour is quickly coming to an end. This Sunday marks the end of yet another summer for the iconic punk rock festival—the 15th summer to be exact! And as someone who has attended literally dozens of Warped Tour dates over the past 8 years, I have to say that it's still as good as ever! I was lucky enough to head out on the road with our amazing tour crew to talk to everyone from Anti-Flag to The Maine about why Animal Testing Breaks Hearts.
I hate to say that we saved the best petition signatures for last, but it's pretty effing sweet that the band whose album debuted at #4 in the country (All Time Low!) and just performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien is all about signing some peta2 petitions! Oh yea and did I mention that I stopped by the Gig Life Tour to hang out with Four Year Strong, Set Your Goals, Fireworks, and The Swellers for a night? I gotta say, sometimes it's good being me!

I think my favorite show I went to all summer was the Four Year Strong/Set Your Goals show in Richmond! What was your best show of the summer?

Warped Tour peta2 Contest win A Day to Remember Four Year Strong Harry Potter Set Your Goals
So far, I have to say that July has been a great month! I got to enjoy 4th of July fireworks and a vegan cookout, spend time on Warped Tour watching Hit the Lights and A Day to Remember, finally saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and today new albums from two of my favorite bands came out! Not only have Four Year Strong and Set Your Goals worked with peta2 before to stand up for animals, but they both had new albums hit stores today and are currently out on the road together in support of these releases.
This Will be the Death of Us is Set Your Goals' highly anticipated follow up to 2006's Mutiny and their first since signing to Epitaph Records. As a huge fan of this band, I can say this album was definitely worth the wait! Tracks like "Summer Jam" and "The Fallen" are destined to be summer anthems, while songs like "Look Closer" and "Gaia Bleeds (Make Way for Man)" have a much more serious message, and definitely one that can be applied to animal rights.

Worcester, MA, natives Four Year Strong have looked to the past for inspiration for their new album, Explains it All, which is a cover album of '90s songs. I may have been a baby of the '80s, but I grew up in the '90s and some of these songs definitely hold a special place in my heart! Who else could pull off covering Smashing Pumpkins, Third Eye Blind, and No Doubt?

If you haven't checked out these new jams yet, I suggest you get on it! And be sure to buy your tickets to the bands' co-headlining tour before they sell out! Comment with your favorite song from the '90s and two winners will be chosen at random to receive a copy of both bands' new CDs. Entries must be received by July 29 and winners will be notified by July 31.

peta2 Finding New and Old Friends Throughout Chaos March 12, 2009
Posted by Marta at March 12, 2009 2:43 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 1 ) | TrackBackHey there readers!
We're reporting again from the road as we just finished another week on the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour. This week we've been through such great cities as NYC, Philadelphia and Baltimore. We're out on this tour spreading the word about the damage factory farming is doing to our planet. Did you know 70% of the leveled rain forest in the Amazon is used to raise animals for meat consumption? You can check out more facts like these and find out ways to help by going here. And guess what? The best way to save our planet is to go veg. Need help finding out how to do that too? Just hop over here to find some delicious recipes!

We're always finding new friends and running into old ones being on the peta2 Road Crew, and this week was no exception. In Sayreville, NJ, we found a friend wearing one of our "Powered By Tofu" shirts AND she signed our "Meat's Not Green" petition. Rad!

Our good friend, and veteran Road Warrior, Susie B, came out to lend us a hand in Columbus, OH. It was nice to see her again and to get some help reaching out to people about how massively raising animals for food is affecting our environment. Check out Pat, John, Susie, and Heather:

Also, one of our friends in Four Year Strong, Josh, took some time to stop by our table and sign the petition in Cleveland, OH. Notice that he's also sporting one of our stylish "Vegetarian" hoodies!

That's all for us right now, but check out when the Taste of Chaos tour is coming to your town on our MySpace page and make sure you stop by our table to say hello and sign our petition. Take care of each other ... and animals!
Keep rockin'!
Joey
