When Joaquin Phoenix was asked how he felt about narrating the film, he was quoted as saying "Of all the films I have ever made, this is the one that gets people talking the most. For every one person who sees Earthlings, they will tell three."
This film changes lives forever. It has influenced stars from Ellen Degeneres to NHL hockey star Georges Laraque to stop eating animals, and shows—in great detail—how animals are abused when raised and killed for food, clothing, experimentation, entertainment, and every other industry. Indeed, it is the single most all-encompassing film about animal rights ever made.
Think I'm over-hyping it? Check out this brand-new trailer, and you'll see what I mean!
NOTE: This trailer shows gruesome footage of violence towards animals. You have been warned.
Powerful stuff, eh?
Not surprisingly, Earthlings is the movie that students of all ages want to screen at their schools more than any other. For example, the student group at California State University - Long Beach recently held a screening on campus, and even got the film's director to answer questions afterwards!

Kim Cattrall Donates Furs to PETA December 19, 2007

I've been reading all the stories about it, spoilers and all, and I watch the reruns even if I've seen the episode six times, I can't help it. Like the one where Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker, who wears only fake fur in real life, by the way) building goes co-op and she realizes she's spent $40,000 on shoes but has nowhere to live...well, you know me and shoes.
Anyway, a while back a bunch of pix from a scene in which Samantha's fur coat is splashed with red paint were circulating on the Web. Now there's no word on what really happens in the scene but it appears that it could have been the work of some angry animal lovers, we'll just have to wait and see.
The good news is, after the film wraps those coats will be on their way to PETA H.Q. courtesy of Ms. Cattrall. Yep, Kim Cattrall is a reformed fur wearer! After learning the dirty secrets of the fur industry the sexiest Sex gal had a change of heart and stopped wearing fur.
Not only that, but she feels so strongly about her new anti-fur stance that she doesn't want to appear to endorse real fur at all and decided to have the furs shipped to us so that we could use them in our program to donate furs to the homeless.
This just goes to show you that when educated, people can change, so keep spreading the word. And don't forget to pledge to be fur free!

If you happen to be heading down South (well down South of where I am anyway) this weekend, you should definitely check out the Atlanta HipHop Film Fest.
The fest will include panels/workshops, hiphop theater performance, film screenings, and a house party (no, not the 1990 movie starring Kid N Play-an actual party).
One of the films showing is WU: The Story of The Wu-Tang Clan, which I bet is good, because what isn't good when Masta Killa is involved?
Also, if you go, keep a lookout for some of our 'I Am Not a Nugget' literature!
