Vegan AFI celebs animals gossip Davey Havok Crash Love
The day has finally arrived ... AFI's brand new album, Crash Love, has officially been released!
I am so happy, I can't stand it. I've listened to it about 50 times today. So far "Darling, I Want to Destroy You" is my favorite track.
With each album I always think that I couldn't possibly love it more than the last and then I do, and Crash Love is no exception. My Davey Havok sounds better than ever, sigh. And have you seen the promo pix? Wow. Perfection. And speaking of perfection, check out Davey's vegan testimonial video to find out why he doesn't eat animals ... or wear them for that matter.
Oh, Davey. Like I said, perfection.
Thanks, AFI. I desperately needed this.

Morrissey vegetarian celebs Davey Havok Leona Lewis World's Sexiest Vegetarian Matt Skiba Kellie Pickler Olivia Wilde Radiohead

I'm sure you're all well aware that peta2's fifth annual World's Sexiest Vegetarian poll is under way, and I know you've all voted and told your friends to vote too, no? We thought you'd like to know who would win if some of the peta2 bloggers picked this year's winners, so without further ado ...
Y'all know by now that my Davey Havok gets my vote every year for the dudes, and he will again this year. He's so yummy and talented and amazing. Oh, Davey. For the ladies, I'm going with a new addition to this year's list ... the lovely Kellie Pickler! She's super pretty and from what I've seen she seems like a sweet person who genuinely cares about animals. Go Davey and Kellie!
For the dudes I have to go with Gabe from Cobra Starship, he had me at "Snakes on a Plane". For the ladies, Ginnifer Goodwin by a mile. She's always been my favorite on "Big Love"!—Ashleigh
Girl: My pick is Leona Lewis. She is beautiful, talented, and vegetarian—a triple threat!
Boy: My pick is Jason Schwartzman. He's an actor, singer, and damn sexy. Nough said.—Lara
For the dudes, I'm gonna go with Casey Affleck (my favorite of the Affleck brothers!). For the ladies, I'm going with Kellie Pickler—OK, so maybe I'm a bit biased because she hearts PETA's Vegan College Cookbook!—Marta
I would consider myself somewhat of an "Arrested Development" enthusiast, and therefore I have to give the title for the ladies to Portia de Rossi. I will say though that Alicia Silverstone came in a very close second. "Clueless" is one of my fave movies. Although there are quite a few fellas deserving of the title, I have to stay true and throw my fangs up for my homeboy Gabe Saporta.—Megan
I'm rooting for Mindy from Lydia because her band is really good, and she's got an amazing voice. Mindy used to be on the peta2 Street Team, too! For guys, let's say Hrishikesh from The One AM Radio. Gotta support my brown brother.—Pulin
Hmm ... for girls, I'd have to say Alison Mosshart of the Kills. Now guys, this is a bit harder—mostly because I can't decide whether or not to vote for Davey Havok or Fran Mark—possibly my two favorite men in the entire universe, or give someone new a chance. This year is extra tough considering I've just fallen in love with Dillinger Escape Plan and Liam Wilson's on the list—and just about everyone from Most Precious Blood made the cut! Sigh, what is a girl to do.—Rachel
Oh decisions, decisions. Seeing Radiohead perform live—during a thunderstorm—was one of the best concert experiences I've ever had, and their veggie-powered lead singer Thom Yorke played no small role in that. I think I will give him my much-coveted vote this year to return the favor. As for the ladies—I was just about to pull the lever for the ever-entertaining Ellen, but that was before I saw that Olivia Wilde (aka Dr. Remy "Thirteen" Hadley on "House") is VEGAN! With her in the running it's clear that nobody else stands a chance, but if she inspires the next generation of TV viewers and fictional doctors to join her in not eating animals it'll all be worth it. Like musical chairs with too many chairs—everybody wins!—Ryan
For the ladies, my vote is with Shannon Elizabeth. I know what you're thinking—I just like her name—well, you're wrong! Shannon is a great example of a sexy girl who still brings the laughs. Does anyone remember "American Pie"? Not to mention, Shannon is an advocate for shelter animals, and I can't think of anything sexier than compassion! For the men, it's a toss up. I want to say Morrissey, but that would be really cliché because I'm the token girl with a Smiths tattoo. While I will always have an undying love for Moz, my real vote is with the man who wrote a little song called "Clavicle" about yours truly (HA, I WISH!), Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. Oh, I feel so creepy, but it's a good creepy. A really, really, really good creepy.—Shan
My picks for this year's winners are Carrie Underwood and Mos Def. I recently saw Carrie perform on TV, and her body's insane (plus I gotta rep for all the country fans out there)! As for Mos Def, he's one funny mofo. And nothing's sexier than a guy who can make you laugh. Did I mention I can't wait for his new album to drop next month!?!—Tiffany
So who will it be? The poll closes at the end of May so you had better get voting if you want your favorite sexy veg celebs to be crowned this year's winners!

AFI vegetarian celebs gossip Davey Havok Carrie Underwood American Idol Kelly Clarkson Sexiest Vegetarian Alive

RealityTVMagazine.com / CC
Yep, that's right ... Kelly Clarkson has gone vegetarian and you heard it here first. OK, well, second if you read her blog, and third if you heard a recent interview she did with a UK radio station but no need to get technical.
When the DJ talks about eating a huge steak while visiting Amarillo, Texas, Kelly says she's been a vegetarian for over a year: " ... I tried it and it's been great so a 72 oz. steak in front of me right now might make me barf at this point."
The DJ teases her throughout the rest of the interview saying she can't be a vegetarian in Texas, but she holds her own telling him, "It's so much better though, man, I feel better ... " Go Kelly!
I'd like to think my Davey Havok and the rest of the AFI boys had something to do with this, I mean after all, it was at Live Earth where she said she first heard about the devastating effects the meat industry had on the environment.
And maybe fellow American Idol winner and former Sexiest Vegetarian Alive Carrie Underwood was a bit of an influence, too. I mean she always talks about being veg and helping animals, so you never know.
P.S. I love Kelly's new song, "My Life Would Suck Without You" but "The Trouble with Love Is" from Love Actually will always be my fave. What's your favorite Kelly Clarkson song?

Remember our feature on ZuBoutique, Davey Havok's animal-friendly clothing company of limited edition T-Shirts? He's at it again, and this time, with what I am going to consider his best design yet, appropriately titled "Got Pus?"

Check out the shirt description from the website:
"We promise that the somatic cell count of this t-shirt is zero, which can not be said for any dairy products. Help spread the truth on the contents of milk while denouncing the innate cruelty of the milk production industry. GOT PUS?"
I couldn't have said it better! Not only do I love ZuBoutique for the heavy Animal Rights message, but also because each shirt is numbered and limited to 100 pieces, and once the shirt is sold out, it's gone forever. It's like owning a limited piece of artwork!
Be sure to check out the rest of Davey's shirts, and be sure to keep an eye out for more designs!

vegetarian Milo Ventimiglia celebs Natalie Portman Davey Havok Alyssa Milano World's Sexiest Vegetarian Hayden Panettiere Jared Leto
The annual World's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity poll is in full swing. I'm sure you've all been wildly voting for your faves. We thought it might be fun to let you see who would win if some of the world famous peta2 bloggers were in charge.

So here we go, starting with moi...
It's no secret who'll be getting my vote for men, my vote always has and always will go to my Davey Havok. I'll never turn my back on him.
For the ladies, I'm torn between Hayden Panettiere and Alyssa Milano. Hayden is sexy and perky and totally dedicated to helping animals and adorable and sooo tiny that I just want to scoop her up and put her in my pocket!!! But that would be wrong...and weird...so I won't.
Then there's Alyssa...I saw her at PETA's 25th Anniversary Gala and I have to admit, she is without a doubt the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen in person. Her skin was flawless and she didn't have the makeup caked on like some ladies feel the need to do. And she was so sweet and friendly and just seemed like a genuinely nice person. It'll just have to be a tie.
Chris Hannah (Propagandhi)—I'd have a man-crush on anyone who rocks this hard.
Natalie Portman—she was in Star Wars. 'Nuff said. —Dan
For the ladies, my pick goes to Fiona Apple. She hasn't really been in the limelight for a while, but just go to YouTube and look up the music video for Criminal and you will know why she should get the Sexiest Vegetarian title. For the boys, I am going to go with my true love (sorry Matt) Joaquin Phoenix. He is hot and talented and vegan (sigh). —Lara
Um, I would like Milo Ventimiglia and Matt Skiba to be the bread for a Marta sandwich please. Wait, did I just say that? *Ahem* For the ladies, I gotta go with Kristen Bell—I love her both for being veg and for getting to say hilarious things as the gossip queen herself on Gossip Girl: "Some people might call this a fluster cluck. On the Upper East Side, we call it Sunday afternoon." —Marta
I'm going with Rachel from Most Precious Blood for the ladies because she's done amazing things for the hardcore scene and could probably kill me if I didn't support her. And for dudes, there's no way I could get away with picking just one winner. Since the entire bands are vegetarian for Rise Against and Silverstein, can I call it a tie with all of them? I fear for my life if I'm not allowed to otherwise. —Pulin
As Radiohead fan numero uno, I feel a certain obligation to pick Thom Yorke. Unfortunately, all music pales in comparison to the life-changing film that "Requiem for a Dream" was for me. On this basis, I'd be lying to myself if I voted for anyone but Jared Leto. On the female side, there's really no contest. Natalie Portman and I are destined to be together, as proven by the many letters I have sent her publicist. I didn't even need to read the rest of the nominees. —Ryan
"My vote goes to Alan Donohoe from The Rakes, he's very sexy and funny and loves cats! I'm also very much in love with Morrissey though, so voting was an emotional rollercoaster!! For the lady I'm going for Alexa Chung because I like her style, but special mention for Tahita from NYPC and Alison Mosshart (The Kills) because they're beauts!" — Violet
MARTA!!! I didn't know you had that in you, you naughty girl. I'm very proud. As for the rest of you out there, you only have until June 16 to ensure that your fave celeb veg heads go down in World's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity history. So get those votes in!

Vegan vegetarian celebs Davey Havok birthday sexiest

Those big brown eyes, his cool sense of style, all that ink, the makeup—I blame Duran Duran for my undying attraction to boys in makeup, especially eyeliner. Roxy Music and Bowie started it really...oh, those UK boys...
And on this auspicious occasion I'd like to extend very warm birthday wishes to you, Davey, in case you're reading the peta2 blog. If I could I'd sing a very sexy, breathy Marilyn Monroe-esque version of "Happy Birthday" to you but alas, you'll have to settle for this blog since I don't have your number.
Of course you could always call me so I could sing it to you but that would be kind of sad really, you having to call me so I could sing "Happy Birthday" to you...I would though.
