Cash Cash Signs Dissection Petition October 7, 2009
Posted by Megan Rondeau at October 7, 2009 1:14 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 5 ) | TrackBackAs you all know, October is not only the start of hoodie weather and Halloween festivities, it's also Cut Out Dissection Month! This is the month when we here at peta2, along with all of our amazing street teamers and supporters, focus all our efforts on the fight to get humane alternatives to dissection in every school. Whether in high school biology labs or on the most prestigious college campuses, we want every student to have the right to morally object to dissecting an animal and be given an acceptable, alternative assignment.
We've already had celebs like Steve-O jump on board for this campaign to speak up for students and animals, and now our boys in Cash Cash have signed our petition to cut out dissection!

It's 'Cut Out Dissection' Month! October 1, 2009
Posted by Rachel-O at October 1, 2009 3:50 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 2 ) | TrackBackYou know October is 'Cut Out Dissection' month, right?

What is that? Every year, 6 million animals like pigs, frogs, cats, and other animals, are killed to be cut up and mutilated in classrooms across the country, even though more humane, and less disgusting and cruel methods exist. October is the perfect time to get started with your campaign to help stop dissection in your school!
What can you do? If you live in a state that has a dissection choice policy allowing you to opt out for an alternative, print out of our state specific leaflets here. These leaflets will help you talk to your teachers and principal about a humane alternative to chopping up corpses in class. Not sure if your state allows you the right to not dissect? Cllick here to find out! If your state isn't on our list, no fear! We'll send you our re-designed 'Cut Class, Not Frogs' leaflets for free! Just e-mail us at peta2@peta2.com!
If you haven't yet, check out our brand new anti-dissection ad with Steve-O and share it on Facebook and everyone you hang out online.
Let's make this the best 'Cut Out Dissection' month yet! Do you have any plans for helping frogs and other animals at your school?
Steve-O Launches His New Anti-Dissection Ad September 30, 2009
Posted by Patricia at September 30, 2009 8:55 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 2 ) | TrackBackThis afternoon our pal Steve-O helped us kick-off "Cut Out Dissection" month by launching his awesome new print ad at Fairfax High School in Los Angeles.
Steve-O wants everyone to know that animals killed for dissection suffer terribly before they reach the science lab. He also wants all you students out there to know that you have the right to refuse to dissect animals. So just say, "No!" and encourage your teachers to offer alternatives for the thousands of students around the country who are opposed to cutting up animals.
As you can imagine it was quite the scene today. Please, hanging out with Steve-O? Where do I sign up?! Check out the pix from today's launch.
Cut Out Dissection Month Starts Soon! September 29, 2008
Posted by Marta at September 29, 2008 5:43 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 30 ) | TrackBackThat's right—Wednesday, October 1st, marks the beginning of "Cut Out Dissection" month!
Dissection seems incredibly archaic to me. I can't believe some teachers are still asking students to cut up dead animals as a way to learn about life. I mean seriously, dissection sounds like something from 1958, not 2008. Plenty of alternatives to dissection exist—and would be cheaper for schools in the long run—so why aren't they being used?
Students need to speak up, that's why! Let your teachers and administrators know that you aren't OK with cutting up animals. Things will only change when people realize there's a problem. We have a great way to get you started—check out peta2's "Cut Out Dissection" month calendar! We have something for you to do each day during the month in October to help animals used for dissection.

Click here to download the calendar.
This calendar should keep you pretty occupied this month, so be sure to keep track of everything you do and e-mail us at StreetTeam@peta2.com at the end of the month for a ton of points. Five ridiculously awesome people will also win a special prize pack. By emailing in, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. We'll let you report in until November 7, 2008 and we'll notify winners by November 11.
One more cool thing: TeachKind is giving away The Digital Frog 2.5 from Digital Frog International—an interactive virtual frog dissection. Pass along this link to your teacher for him or her to enter to win a copy (don't enter yourself—this is for teacher's only!)! And have him/her enter quick, because the contest is over October 3rd!
Remember, you can make a difference. We hear from students all the time who've gotten dissection choice policies passed at their schools. Which one of you will be next?
♥ Marta
PS - If you haven't yet, be sure to check out "Classroom Cut-Ups".
Win a Cut Class Not Frogs Tee! October 3, 2007

When I was in high school, I remember dreading the unit in my biology class where we had to dissect a worm and a frog. Back then, I didn't know anything about animal rights, but still felt something was wrong with what we were doing. I really regret not having spoke up for what I believed in.
Now that I know better, I speak my mind about dissection every chance I can get. In fact, sometimes I even rock peta2's "Cut Class Not Frogs" tee to let people know exactly what I think.
To celebrate Cut Out Dissection Month (being October), peta2 is giving away that very tee!
The person that leaves the best comment about dissection wins!
Contest ends October 23rd 2007, and the winner will be notified by October 30th.
Just so you know...by commenting here, we're taking that as acknowledgment that you've read and agreed to our privacy policy.
Also by commenting, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

P.S. Don't make the same mistake I did! Get involved with getting alternatives to dissection in your school now!
