Usually most of us dream about traveling in/with a band sometime in our life, right? Since I've been involved with peta2 I've had the opportunity to do just that (check out the different jobs available here at PETA)! I've been on tours that featured artists/bands Bayside, Chiodos, The Cool Kids, Comeback Kid, hellogoodbye, Silverstein, and many more (not to brag). Along with touring you get to meet some awesome people and stop at some awesome venues. One of my personal favorite venues happens to be in St. Louis, The Pageant.
The Pageant has an amazing set up, is in a great area, there are always awesome bands playing, and I can't forget about the amazing staff! The venue has hosted quite a few non-profit organizations in the past and peta2 is happy to be one of them. The last time I was in St. Louis I popped by a show that peta2's friends in Never Shout Never were playing at The Pageant and I had the chance to spread the word about how Meat's Not Green—remember, eating meat is like driving a whole fleet of SUVs around the block every time you sit down for dinner.
If you're on the Street Team and live in/near St. Louis and would like to help in the future drop us a line at peta2@peta2.com! Also, The Pageant will be hosting the upcoming Hanson and hellogoodbye, Brand New, The Used, Ludo, Cobra Starship, AFI, and many more shows, so make sure you check them out if you're around!
Cross Country with Comeback Kid October 21, 2008
Posted by Marta at October 21, 2008 3:47 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 0 ) | TrackBackWe started our week with Comeback Kid in Vancouver, BC! From day one the Meat's Not Green campaign was really well received. Never heard of it? Well take a peek.
The idea is simple—and brilliant if I do say so: Since factory farming is the NUMBER ONE cause of pollution, (yup, first, numero uno, gold medal of pollution causing) we're asking that all factory farmed meat packages provide more information about the environmental effects of factory farming. For example, it takes about 16 lbs of grain to produce 1 lb of meat. That's not economically or environmentally friendly. That would give everyone the knowledge and power to make their own educated choice when making a purchase—that's fair, right?!
So who knows meat's not green? Besides the nearly 21,000 people who already signed to help save the planet, Jeremy from Comeback Kid and Ryan from Misery Signals! Both of these vegan boys were rocking our Meat's Not Green buttons.

I would like to take a second to mention going the extra mile. Sometimes, we are outside in the cold so we bundle up, or on Warped Tour we buy booty shorts, but this Road Warrior takes the prize. What do you do in dark venues where it's hard to sign petitions? Rock a head lamp.

And it wouldn't be one of Paige's blogs without a shout out to vegan food. Thanks to Gorilla Food in Vancouver providing us with tasty raw food, like basil pizza!

And Comet Café in Milwaukee for open face "meat loaf" sandwiches.

Jam Out
Paige
