Who Ever Heard Of A Meat Eating Environmentalist? December 5, 2008

Sarah in the UK wanted to give you a heads up on a march that takes place this weekend in London.
-Pulin

On Saturday 6th December people will be marching in almost 100 countries on 5 continents urging the government to take action on climate change. 10,000 environmentalists are expected to join the National Climate March here in London.

We all know that the best thing to do, not only for our health, but for our planet, is to go vegetarian.

According to the United Nations, livestock farming is one of the major causes of global warming. In addition it is also responsible for the destruction of rainforests, polluting rivers and wasting water. Raising animals for food generates more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, planes, ships, lorries and trains in the world combined!

Don't forget to sign the petition to get meat properly labelled with a warning that states it is the number one cause of global warming.

I'm definitely going along to this march and will be there proudly handing out some Meat's Not Green leaflets.

Here are the details if you're able to come along:
When: Saturday 6th December
Where: Grosvenor Square (Bond Street/Marble Arch tube)
Time: 12pm

Whilst most of you won't be able to attend, make sure you email peta2 at peta2@peta2.com to get yourself some leaflets to spread the word.

Go Green!

Meat's Not Green Video October 1, 2008

Posted by Pulin Modi at October 1, 2008 7:57 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 1 ) | TrackBack

Have you seen the new Meat's Not Green site?

There is plenty of evidence out there to back up what we're saying about the connection between saving the planet and helping animals including this recent article which talks about how, "(g)oing vegan—giving up meat and dairy products—would cut the emissions released in making what you eat more than seven-fold..." Pretty powerful stuff!

Meat's Not Green is such an incredible campaign, and one of my favorite parts of it is the video that talks about how the meat industry causes so much destruction to the planet.

It's informative and pretty short, so check it out.

Find out why "Meat's Not Green"!

If you post the video on your own page and send us a link to StreetTeam@peta2.com, we'll drop 500 points into your Street Team account towards free hoodies, shirts, stickers, and other merch. Since you are sitting at your computer right now, why not just go ahead and do it? Grab the code to repost or download it right here.

Thanks!

MEAT'S NOT GREEN!! August 29, 2008

Oh boy, have I got a fun update for you today...

That's right, we're hitting the ground running this fall by launching our exciting new campaign, called "Meat's Not Green"!

MeatsNotGreen.jpg

All of the politicians and people on TV talk about "going green", but are you as tired as we are of so-called "environmentalists" who say they care about protecting the planet while they chomp on pieces of animals' flesh? Did they not hear that meat is the #1 cause of global warming? Well, it's time to clear things up for them!

Click here to sign our petition to add a warning label to meat packaging, so that people know that when they are buying meat, they are not only contributing to the torture of animals, but the destruction of the environment too!

After signing the petition, make sure to create your own fun label! And there are all kinds of other fun things on the site too, such as as a calculator to find out how green your diet is and a badge for posting on your MySpace or Facebook, so go wild!

Pretty awesome, right? Mine's going to say "Warning: Meat is murder for animals and the planet!"

So what is your warning label going to say?

- Ryan!
