Howdy St. Louis! Have You Ever Been To The Pageant!? August 28, 2009

Posted by Cody Ammerman at August 28, 2009 10:48 AM | Permalink | Comments ( 1 ) | TrackBack

Usually most of us dream about traveling in/with a band sometime in our life, right? Since I've been involved with peta2 I've had the opportunity to do just that (check out the different jobs available here at PETA)! I've been on tours that featured artists/bands Bayside, Chiodos, The Cool Kids, Comeback Kid, hellogoodbye, Silverstein, and many more (not to brag). Along with touring you get to meet some awesome people and stop at some awesome venues. One of my personal favorite venues happens to be in St. Louis, The Pageant.

The Pageant has an amazing set up, is in a great area, there are always awesome bands playing, and I can't forget about the amazing staff! The venue has hosted quite a few non-profit organizations in the past and peta2 is happy to be one of them. The last time I was in St. Louis I popped by a show that peta2's friends in Never Shout Never were playing at The Pageant and I had the chance to spread the word about how Meat's Not Green—remember, eating meat is like driving a whole fleet of SUVs around the block every time you sit down for dinner.

If you're on the Street Team and live in/near St. Louis and would like to help in the future drop us a line at peta2@peta2.com! Also, The Pageant will be hosting the upcoming Hanson and hellogoodbye, Brand New, The Used, Ludo, Cobra Starship, AFI, and many more shows, so make sure you check them out if you're around!

peta2's New Celeb Voicemails! June 24, 2009

I don't know about you guys, but I hate recording my voicemail. I can't even record a simple "I'm not here, leave a message" without somehow screwing it up. A few years ago I even tried recording one about the fur industry and urging people to call a legislator about steel leg hold trapswe all know how important that is obviously, but to others, it's a pretty big snore fest.

How can you help animals while screening your calls—without putting people to sleep? Easy. We've just added new celeb voicemails from members of Chiodos (that's them to the right!), Silverstein, Escape the Fate, and Shadows Fall—and we still have the classic peta2 voicemails from Pharrell Williams, Clipse, Matt Skiba, Incubus and others!

Street Teamers will get 1000 points for e-mailing us at StreetTeam@peta2.com and letting us know which voicemail they've downloaded!

What are you waiting for? Download one now!

Stay loud!
-Rachel

"I Couldn't Wait for the Summer and the Warped Tour..." March 31, 2009

Posted by Megan Rondeau at March 31, 2009 3:47 PM | Permalink | Comments ( 13 ) | TrackBack

Every summer I look forward to the long, hot and sweaty days of the Vans Warped Tour. I've been going every year since 2001 and I still love it! Summer just isn't complete without that day spent in the smoldering heat along with thousands of other kids watching some of your favorite bands. This year's Warped Tour is sure to be the party of the summer yet again. Some awesome new bands have been added to the line-up in addition to the old favorites that help keep Warped going strong every year.

Check out this year's full line-up of bands. It's awesome to see that so many of these bands are friends with peta2! After seeing the success of last summer's campaign, there's no doubt in my mind that by the end of the summer our peta2 road crew will have every one of these bands on board to help animals!

Really, Who Doesn't Love Silverstein? November 11, 2008

The boys in Silverstein came through town the other day on their tour with Chiodos. So we hung out and chatted about animal rights as always. Fun times, but the local pizza place ran out of soy cheese pizza. Dang!

Since the Silverstein dudes are so ridiculously kind and supportive of all that we do at peta2, we made sure to hook them up with some of our new vegetarian hoodies! Hey, did you notice that it also says "vegan" in green? Mighty clever of us, isn't it?

Josh and Paul from Silverstein with their new hoodies.

Anyway, the sold out show was great, and I'm excited that Silverstein is hitting the studio to record their next album very soon after this tour wraps up. They have a demo version of a rad new track on their MySpace that they also play live. If you like 'em, check it out!

That's all for now.

-Pulin
