Will you be in NYC for Fashion Week? Then you can't miss out on the week's hottest eventthe New York Couture Official Fashion Week Show & Party at legendary Webster Hall, this Saturday, September 12! You might have caught a glimpse of the party on MTV before but you've got to experience the excitement (and the craziness) for yourself.
You all remember Frenchy from VH1's Rock of Love, right? Well the ultimate party girl will be hosting the event alongside fashion stylist Contessa Stuto. We all know nothing's off limits with those two running the show!
Entrance to this event is FREE with a flyer which you can pick up at Patricia Field (302 Bowery St. in NYC) or by RSVPing to guestlist@newyorkcouture.net. Once you RSVP you'll be sent directions on what to do the night of the event as well as the secret password for entrance (very James Bond ... I love it!). Be among the first 100 guests to arrive and you'll receive a gift bag filled with all sorts of goodies from peta2, BUST Magazine, Leaping Bunny, Lime Crime Makeup, and more!
By the way, recognize the model in the pic? That's right, it's Audrey Kitching, the Buzznet reporter. Remember when she posed for peta2 in our 'Fur Is Dead' tee? HOT!
P.S. You must be at least 19 to party at this event.

If you were at Bamboozle Left this weekend, hopefully you were one of the thousands of people that checked out the peta2 booth and signed our Fur is Dead petition. If you didn't get the chance, or missed Bamboozle Left, make sure you sign the petition online here.
We also had some of the lovely Skelanimals models come by our booth in support of the campaign and helped us draw attention to the cruelties that go on in the fur industry. A big Thank You to Mathew Lush, Audrey Kitching, Linda Strawberry, Forbidden, Aldo, Anita K, and Davey Suicide for coming out and supporting a good cause!

We also had Fred Mascherino from The Color Fred and formerly of Taking Back Sunday stop by our booth and do an autograph signing, so big thanks to Fred, too.

If you're on the East Coast, make sure you come see us at Bamboozle in NJ on May 3rd and 4th. See you soon!

Happy Friday everyone! Anita Khachatourians is, sadly, the last of the amazing "Fur Is Dead" supporters we'll be profiling. Don't get too sad, because she is awesome!
Anita K. was born in Madrid, Spain and raised in Los Angeles. This self-described "girl next door" aspires to be a well-known fashion designer and a print and runway model. She wants to let everyone in the fashion industry know that "Fur Is Dead"! Anita loves animals (especially penguins!) and supports peta2 in all our efforts to end cruelty to animals.

Check out our Q&A with Anita about the campaign:
What do you define as your personal style?
I have a very edgy, trendy, funky, but classy style. My look is very rock 'n roll glam with a little punk, but girly at the same time.
Do you have any fashion "do's" and "don'ts"?
Fashion "do's" are gold jewelry, black nail polish, oversized purses, and leggings. My fashion "don'ts" include fanny packs, sweaters tied around the waist, and dressing monochromatically.
Why do you choose not to wear real fur?
I love animals too much and the thought of animals being tortured for snotty girls to wear makes me angry and upset.
What is your favorite animal? Why?
Penguins are my favorite animals because they look like they wear tuxedos and walk so cute. I wish I had a bunch of penguins as pets.
Do you have a favorite vegetarian dish? If so, what is it?
I love vegetarian soup of any kind.
Want to meet this lovely lady in person? She will be signing autographs at the peta2 booth at Bamboozle Left this Saturday with Audrey Kitching, Christine Dolce, Linda Strawberry, Matthew Lush, Davey Suicide and Aldo Vento! Go say "hi"!

Ladies and gentleman, I present you the next "Fur Is Dead" supporter...Aldo Vento!
Aldo is a 20-year-old vegetarian model/freelance hair stylist who loves music, traveling, friends, and standing up for equal rights for gays and lesbians.
Get to know Aldo a lil better by checking out our Q&A with him below:
What do you define as your personal style?
My personal style is very forward. I like to wear anything that stands out. Cheap Mondays are my favorite jeans. I have a lot of striped tees and American Apparel 50/50 tees in all colors. I wear hoodies all the time—especially when my hair is a mess! And oh, my undies have to match my shirts LOL!
Do you have any fashion "do's" and "don'ts"?
Hmm...I think everyone should wear bright colors for spring and summer—yellows, oranges, reds, and rainbows! I'd like to see more sleeveless hoodies. Fashion dont's: leave your faded black tee in your closet.
Why do you choose not to wear real fur?
I couldn't imagine being born, living my life in a cage, and then being skinned for my coat. I choose not to wear fur because it's wrong, it looks tacky and stinky.
What is your favorite animal? Why?
My favorite animal is a monkey! They are just so cute and funny! They remind me of little hairy people who don't talk.
Do you have a favorite vegetarian dish? If so, what is it?
My favorite vegetarian dish is something called the "Rock & Roll Noodle" at this vegan restaurant in Los Feliz. It's pan-fried wide rice noodles with tofu, chili sauce, basil, tomato, bell peppers, bean sprouts & jalapeno sauce. It's yummy!
~
Thanks Aldo! Be sure to stop by the peta2 booth at The Bamboozle Left to see Aldo who will be signing copies of the Skelanimals' "Fur Is Dead" poster below at the peta2 booth along with Audrey Kitching, Christine Dolce, Linda Strawberry, Matthew Lush, and Davey Suicide!

fur Audrey Kitching Contest win furisdead Matthew Lush
I hope that all of you reading this have given real fur the boot. Fur is absolutely unnecessary. For one, "Fur is dead"! Secondly, it makes you look bad. And thirdly, the fur industry tortures helpless animals. No one should support an industry that keeps animals confined in unnatural conditions only to skin them alive or kill them by breaking their necks, bashing their heads in, or anally or vaginally electrocuting them.
If you haven't already, it's time for you to join us in saying N-O to fur. We want to have 100,000 strong against fur. Please sign the petition and help us reach our goal!
Now that you've signed our petition, it's time to tell your friends and family that fur is dead. One easy way to get the message across is by sporting our exclusive Skelanimals "Fur Is Dead" tee like Audrey Kitching and Matthew Lush!

Three lucky boys and girls can WIN one of these amazing new tees! To win, comment below with your T-shirt size AND where you will wear it.

The contest ends on April 7, 2008, and winners will be chosen and notified by April 14, 2008.
Just so you know ... by commenting here, you're acknowledging that you've read and agreed to our privacy policy.
Also by commenting, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

Hey everyone! I want to introduce you to another one of our lovely and amazing Fur Is Dead supporters: Audrey Kitching!
Not only is Audrey a featured personality on Buzznet and a huge deal on MySpace, but she is changing the standards of beauty in the fashion industry with her bold look (and fur-free stance). This "it" girl is always up for a challenge, and one day plans to captain her own brand! She is beautiful, sincere, and another one of my favorite people involved in this campaign!

Check out our Q&A with Audrey:
What do you define as your personal style?
Club kid inspired with mix of Japanese fashion, '80s, and rock and roll
Do you have any fashion "do's" and "don'ts"?
Don't conform to what you read in magazines... do wear random things like mouse ears and birthday hats.
Why do you choose not to wear real fur?
Because why wear something that is killing an animal when there are great faux alternatives? It's tacky to wear real fur.
What is your favorite animal? Why?
Miniature dachshunds or flamingos. They remind me of myself.
Do you have a favorite vegetarian dish? If so, what is it?
Vegetarian Mexican food
Isn't she great?!? Keep checking out the peta2 blog for more about the amazing people taking part in the "Fur Is Dead" campaign!
