Well, the votes have been counted, and you told us very clearly which anti-fur design you loved the most!

The Office's Michael Scott in Fur?!? December 5, 2008

On of my favorite TV shows is The Office, and last night's episode was one of the best ever! Did anyone see it? At the end of the show, Michael, clad in his new man-fur, shared this valuable bit of advice, "You should know that some people think it's cool to throw buckets of fake blood on you as you are walking out of Burlington Coat Factory." So hilarious. Bit of fashion advice for you folks—don't wear something that Michael Scott would!

We found out that the fur they used in the episode was indeed faux. However, if Michael Scott were a real person, he very well could have gotten a real fur coat at Burlington Coat Factory, because they are tacky enough to sell them. Second bit of fashion advice: Don't buy clothes from a place with the word "factory" in the name.



P.S. Remember when the funniest man alive and creator of the o.g. Office, Ricky Gervais, spoke out against fur when he teamed up with PETA Europe in the worldwide fight to stop Canadian bears from getting slaughtered for silly hats? Brilliant!

All you want for Christmas is peta2 merch! All of the cool items I'm about to mention are super affordable and, definitely, make a statement.

Fur-Free Formal 2008! May 12, 2008

Yes, the end of the semester is upon us, and you know what that means... Spring dances!

Regardless of whether it's high school prom or a college formal, end-of-the-school-year dances are the place to see and be seen in your finest outfit.

So of course it doesn't make sense to allow a cruel and effin' ugly product like fur at one of these classy events, now does it? That's why the Zeta Xi chapter of the Alpha Phi sorority at Elmhurst College took a stand, by placing a "fur-free" policy on their spring formal!

As if that weren't enough, we also sent the sorority a "Compassionate Chapter" award from peta2, and enough anti-fur buttons for everyone in attendance! Being kind sure has its rewards, eh?


I think peta2's Dan Shannon said it best when he said "Every woman wants to look her best for the spring formal, but no one will come close to the sisters of Alpha Phi, whose compassion makes their beauty radiate even more. By declaring their biggest social affair of the year to be fur-free, these women are proving that you can have the 'look that kills' without killing animals."

I couldn't have said it better myself.
