Meet Sam. He's From New Zealand. December 26, 2008

But there are a lot of things we have in common with the fine folks of New Zealand including a passion for protecting animals and the planet.

That's where Sam comes in. He's a 13 year old with a love for Rise Against, Anti-Flag, and a bunch of other bands, and he has his own radio show called Food For Thought!
He talks about animal rights, shares vegan recipes, and has a policy to only play bands which he knows are animal-friendly (they must have at least one vegetarian member).
When I asked him how he got the idea to do a radio show all about animal rights, he said "...(b)efore I went vegan I was co-hosting a music show with one of my friends. Part way through co-hosting this show I went vegetarian. I wanted to help animals as much as possible, so I decided to start a radio show dedicated to animal rights. I interviewed a lot of vegans on my show, and after learning that cows still have to die to produce milk, I went vegan." Oh I love logical thinking!
Sam's dedication to veganism is admirable. I totally agree with him when he says that the "most important thing anyone could do to help animals is to go vegan. By going vegan, you can save 100 animals per year, or 101 if you include yourself. As well as this, going vegan helps the environment more than buying a hybrid car. If people are already vegan and want to make an even bigger difference, then they should join the Street Team. There is an extremely helpful list of ways that you can make a difference on the all actions page."
Wow! I couldn't have said it better myself.
