How long have Fred Mascherino and peta2 been BFF? A really long time, I tell ya! He rose to the scene with Taking Back Sunday, and amazed us with The Color Fred. So of course we had to jump at the chance to host this awesome song, "The Hills of Birmingham" from his new band, Terrible Things, and it's exclusively available here on peta2.com for the next week, just for you!

Terrible Things unites a powerful line up of all-stars, with Josh Eppard (Coheed and Cambria) and Andy Jackson (Hot Rod Circuit) joining Fred to make for a powerful trio of commanding rock chemistry.

So check it out, and be sure to let us know what you think in the comments below. And of course, be sure to pick up Terrible Things' Universal Midtown self-titled debut album when it hits the streets on August 31!

  1. First off, amazing quality. Big props to the producer and Terrible Things for bringing this song together so well. This is my favorite song by far off this record. The beautiful blend of string instruments is alluring. The melodies are spot on and collide with the words. "Authentically Desparate" is how I would describe the overall feeling of the song. Not desparate in a bad way, but in the way of desparation looking to reach out to the world. The title also plays a huge role in this tune. Absolutely classic, I love Fred, Andy and Josh for creating this masterpiece and giving us fans something to believe in finally again. I don't even need to say "Keep up the good work" because those three will never stop doing what they are doing, and there will never be bad work. haha. Here's to terrible things and a triumphant musical career. I love you joshy E<3
