Kate Winslet is one of my favorite actors—top three for sure. So, when I found out she was narrating our exposé to show the world what ducks and geese endure for foie gras, I literally jumped for joy.
Major UK retailer Selfridges recently pledged to stop selling the so called "delicacy" forever. Foie gras, for those of you who don't know, (which I'm pretty sure is most of you, because foie gras is disgusting and eaten mostly by older, snooty people!) is made from the engorged livers of ducks and geese. Eat someone's fatty liver? … I don't think so.
Tubes are shoved down the birds' throats several times a day to force-feed them grain and fat, which often punctures their throats, resulting in tissue damage and internal bleeding. Watch as Kate describes the horrors behind foie gras.
Hopefully, with Kate's help, foie gras will soon be a thing of the past.
Please share this video with everyone you know and spread the word that there isn't anything chic about foie gras.

I've been telling my family about foie gras after they served it on 'Come dine with me', some of them had no idea what it was!

Before becoming a vegetarian I ate foie gras a couple of times and it is so disgusting. How can it be considered a delicacy? It's horrible how people are so numb to animal pain. I hope production of foie gras can be banned in the US soon.

oh my god! I just learned about that a week or two ago! My friend Ryan found out I was vegan, so he was like "this will make you cry"….he made me look it up.

The practice reminds me of the part in Iron-Jawed Angels where Hillary Swank is in prison and force-fed uncooked eggs by the guards and personnel through a tube that they pushed down her throat. I thought it was disgusting in the movie and I think it is disgusting in real life, no matter who or what you do it to.
