Free Stuff Friday: Jellyfish Mood Lamp!

Posted on September 25, 2009 at 9:22 am | Permalink | Comments (327)

We all know what a$$holes Brookstone execs are being by continuing to sell those hideous Frog-O-Spheres (or "death tanks" as I like to call them). Despite complaints from animal-loving customers about the dangers these contraptions pose to the health of the frogs and snails within them, Brookstone has been giving them all the cold shoulder. Management is even instructing employees to move all the Frog-O-Spheres with sick-looking frogs to the back of the shelves, denying them proper vet care. DOUCHEBAGS!

This week, we're giving you the chance to win this animal-friendly LED Jellyfish Mood Lamp from ThinkGeek.com You can have your "jellyfish" change from color to color or stay a single color. Either way, this thing is pretty damn awesome. Who knew imitation jellyfish could be this cool?

For your chance to win this Jellyfish Mood Lamp, comment below with what you'd say to a Brookstone exec if you saw him or her on the street. Comments must be received by October 2, and the person with the most compelling comment will be chosen as our winner and notified on October 5.

When you get reincarnated, wouldn't it be ironic if you were a frog?

like to ask them if they have windows in their homes and offices and if they like having food to eat and if they like having those things why don't they provide the same for the smallest of creature in their care

I alway have my kids with me so I would point and say out loud "Look kids, that man is very mean to poor little froggies, he is a very bad man." If I were alone I would just probably yell, "How can you sleep at night you *&^% %^$# *@#"!

First I would treat him with 100% kindness, yet still show my opinion. Simply I would say, "If you close your eyes, and pretend you where that frog, what would you feel? You have the opportunity to help many animals right now, from suffering. So turn around and do that. It's more important that money." Then I would smile and walk away.

I do not understand, really, how you came up with the idea of selling frogs and snails like that.
Ok, i understand, you need to live out of something, make a living, eat, bring the money to the table of your house in order to send your kids to the school, pay for your house, eat and so on and on.
But just like you do this every day and expect a payment at the end of the week or month these animals work hard to get their food, to live out there, to find a couple and to just plainly said, survive.
Everyone is trying to survive in our own jungle, you do it one way and they do it another way.
But still, just like you and me and everyone else, they are living creatures, they exist not to amuse you or make you gain a lot of money but because they have a different purpose in life.
You are not omnipotent enough to say who lives and who dies and even then, life has a specific circle in wich humans are not supposed to mess with.
How is this different from killing your neighbor or the kid that walks in front of your house to go to school everyday.
Its still killing, its still a living creature, it might not be a human living but still their lives are just as precious as our lives, and some times… even more.

I would also make it a point to ask how they would like it if I put them in a room the size of a small livingroom with a chair to sit in and fed them 15 dry cornflakes a day.

I would ask them how they could live with themselves by selling "pets" that arent meant to be pets and then putting them in small unlivable cages. Animals are meant to be free and in the wild, they have much more beauty if you can see them in the wild being a wild free animal! Jellyfish lamps are cool! You can keep them at your desk and in a little cage AND your leaving the real ones and other real animals in the wild where they belong!! Sell Jellyfish lamps!!! Give some of the proceeds to actually help wildlife!

If I met them, I would tell them what scumbags they are for abusing animals. Even though it's a pretty cruel thing to say, I would ask them how they would like if that was being done to their children? to be treated that way as if they were nothing, just another paycheck because that's basically all they are to them, just trying to make money off of selling them and couldn't careless what care they're given.

"Hi, My name is Raven Sterling. I have a proposition for you."Take to coffee shop. "Okay, your company is being badgered by animal lovers, right?" "Mhhm." "Alright, I have a way to get rid of them." Give coffee. "Give them what they want. Treat the animals right. By the way your coffee is made with your dead frog water and I think a few pebbles might be at the bottom. Have a nice day."

How would u like to be stuck in a tank not big for one. With water that will probably never be changed.Basically just waiting to die in that tank. Being trapped and no way out.Just cause there animals doesnt mean that dont have feelings. When u do this to them it hurts them. Your killing them. Maybe you guys should try it some time how does that sound!!??

I would tell him, "Hi there. I was in one of your Brookstone stores the other day and saw a dead frog in a Frog-O-Sphere. I ran out of the store and it was all I could do to stop myself from throwing up. I will never shop there again. How do you live with yourself?"
