One Minute Mission: You vs. Ringling Bros. August 11, 2009

Posted by Rachel-O | Permalink | Comments ( 22 ) | TrackBack

We know how much you all love the minute missions, and who wouldn't? They only take a minute, they help animals, and they earn you points in the process!

That's why we've got a brand-new minute mission for you! All you need to do is share the just-released undercover video that shows Ringling Bros. workers beating and whipping elephants and tigers. It's a great way to spread the word that there is nothing entertaining about the cruel ways animals in the circus are treated. Many people are changed forever after watching an undercover investigation (I definitely was). Challenge your friends and family to watch the video—I'll bet that they'll never want to visit the circus after seeing the footage!

Here are some ways you can help:

1) Embed the video on your MySpace page with the code below:

If you haven't seen the video, please check it out below:

Visit RinglingBeatsAnimals.com

2) Download the video here and then upload it to your Facebook! Once it's downloaded, go to your status box, click the picture of the video camera, and follow the prompts. You can also upload it to your YouTube account!

Be sure to e-mail us at StreetTeam@peta2.com and let us know the reactions you got and please include a link to your page. You'll earn 500 points for each place that you shared the video!

For the animals,

Liz

Thank you, Peta, for exposing the cruelty and ignorance inflicted and condoned by Ringling Bros. The public is being informed of what really happens behind the scenes of this "fun-filled family event". After too many decades of animal torture, Ringling Bros. is finally being exposed.for what they really are...sick and greedy. There is nothing entertaining nor applaudable about torturing innocent animals. Everyone involved or aware of these inhumane practices should be brought to justice and punished for their crimes.

Thanks Peta for posting this. I'm devastated from watching the video and the article is so terrible. I haven't been to circus since I was young and only been there once.
And never liked the show and kinda have the guts feeling that they beat them to train them hard.
Its been decades that these animals were hurted it has to stop. Pretty sure you should show these this message that I'll never go to any of the circus to watch. It's so horrible what they did to these innocent animals.

Living in Sarasota, FL (home of lots of Ringling Bros. pride) it is particularly disturbing to me that this kind of animal cruelty is still going on right under our noses. I have boycotted The Ringling Museum which is about an hour north of where I lived. I'd love to get some literature to pass out or post by the museum's circus exhibit.

This is not entertainment.
These animals are tortured day in and day out for years. I still can't believe the human race as a whole doesn't view this as wrong. Seeing this makes me sick.

This people need to be beat and whip in the same places and the exact same way that they are treating this defenseless animals and they wonder why tigers and elephants kill their trainers......

The animals should fight back they would squoosh all those jerks in a minute. The elephants are not even doing anything wrong why do they keep hitting them??? I agree complete cowards.

I have not gone to the circus since i was like 7 or 8 and last year. I had already figured that it is virtually impossible to teahc this to these wild animals to stand up right for no reason. I was thinking of going again for old time sake but this video CONFIRMED my worst fear. Thank you peta for opening my eyes. I WILL NEVER GO TO A CIRCUS EVER AGAIN .

I cant stand to watch the video but i will spread the word, stuff like this makes me sick and so sad, watching these videos makes me cry so i cant bring my self to do it, it haunts me. I hate more than anything to see animals abused by humans, i have no respect for any man that hurts an animal, they should be lucky i dont know them because i would love to give them a lesson on pain.
