This image was taken in the back room of a Petland store in Akron, Ohio, and posted on Facebook by Elizabeth Carlisle. She can be seen grinning as she holds two dead, soaking-wet rabbits by the scruff of the neck—rabbits she just drowned while working at Petland.
When asked by a Facebook friend if she drowned the rabbits, she replied "[T]he manager took the pic for me. [S]he reminded me that there were people outside as [I] was swearing at them to just hurry up and die but then she was so kind as to take this picture." She has also stated that rabbits in the store were allowed to "attack and eat each other." The bunnies suffered from "deep wounds all over," "an eye missing," what Petland staff "suspected was a broken jaw," and paralysis from the waist down.
The store has closed, following our complaint, but PETA investigations have revealed time and time again that companies that breed and sell animals are concerned about profits, not animals' well-being.

She is just as guilty of this as Ms Crazy. She too, should be arrested! I have been in this store several times and have always left with a feeling of disgust seeing how they treat their animals. No pet store should be allowed to sell animals. They are kept in small cages-way too small for their size. And I always think how scared and lonely they must be on holidays when no one goes in and checks on them. What a Merry Christmas they must have!

If any animal dog, cat, bird, snake, bunny, rat, ect. is hurt in anyway we take them right up to see the vet!! I am so glad they closed that store and I want to kick her ass!!!

...I have a bunnie named emma~ I look @ my bunnie everyday & think to myself that im blessed..they're fragile and delicate exotic pets...helpless in fact. that lady (and I use that term loosely) has a whole lotta sorries to say...dues to pay...poor bunnies:(
