Seals Slaughter Canada Day hunt clubbing
There are many things to love about Canada (not least of which is the vegan faux chicken available at many KFC's across the country). Unfortunately, the Great White North's reputation has been stained red by their continued support for slaughtering seals.
As Canadians and their international admirers are celebrating Canada Day today, PETA and its affiliates made sure that nobody forgot those "citizens" who won't be celebrating—because they've been clubbed to death.
To draw attention to the issue, activists held demonstrations at Canadian consulates and embassies around the world. Check out this one, all the way from London, England!
There were also some brave "seals" crashing Canada Day parades all across the country. What can we say? Seals like to party too.

Canadian KFC's have faux VEGAN chicken? Wow, yet another reason to move there...but the seal slaughter? I mean, I just don't see the logic behind that, and it makes me angry to see those cute faces one moment and their brutal death the next. =[
Posted by: Veg~Cutie at July 2, 2009 2:08 AMjust to clarify, not ALL canadians support this "sport". i myself as a canadian am ashamed that my country allows this to take place, but unfortunatley there is conflict between the aborigional peoples and the canadian government and they feel that brutally killing seals is an important part of their culture. This is in no way a good excuse and the governement should stop the killing.

Most Canadians hate the seal hunt as much as the rest of the world. Our government simply doesn't care what we think. Even when they were bombarded with support for Senator Harb's proposed bill to put an end to it, it never passed. But the truth is Canadians really are the compassionate people we've been known to be. Our stupid government is just ruining it.
i really dont agree with the seal hunting but im also Canadian and i think this seems like EVERY Canadian would go out and do this. We have protest against this stuff too. So, i think you should be more against the Companies that do this instead of Canada and it's general population. I think you would probably get a more specific result out of that too. Just saying.
