I went to my first-ever vegan wedding recently, and it was so fun! It was amazing to go to a cruelty-free wedding—it sends such a positive message. Check out the happy bride and groom—two of my favorite people ever—on the big day (they know that Meat's Not Green!):

You better believe lots of deliciousness graced my plate (and eventually, my happy stomach): General Tso's vegan chicken, stuffed tomato, Tofurky brat, sushi, avocado wrap, falafel with hummus, veggie pate, and fruit. Also, notice the super-cute cupcake-cookie wedding favor. Anyone who doesn't think vegan food is delicious definitely hasn't been to a vegan wedding!

There were beautiful (and tasty!) veggie pates:

And loads of veggie sushi, too.

And not to rub it in or anything (OK, to rub it in a little), there were vegan cupcake towers! Check out the vanilla cupcakes with strawberry frosting and the chocolate cupcakes with mocha frosting from Sticky Fingers Bakery! Jealous?

Who wishes they had a cupcake right now?
P.S. Check out the delish chocolate dipped strawberries we had at the rehearsal dinner!

Posted by: at May 29, 2009 3:44 PMNope - it's vegan dark chocolate! And it was delicious. :o) There are lots of vegan chocolates available - just be sure to check the label.

Posted by: Savannah at May 29, 2009 11:14 PMOooh, I'm about to have my own vegan wedding, though mine will be at a courthouse! The honeymoon is the best part.
I'm going to Sticky Fingers on June 4th to get the cake and other goodies (obviously) and then heading to The White Pig-- a vegan b&b and animal sanctuary for pot-bellied pigs, mostly. There will be lots of vegan food, and I cannot wait!!!

Posted by: at June 16, 2009 9:32 AMWow!! I'm so inspired by this post!! Those cupcakes are the truth!! :) I'm starting a website & blog for vegan brides & grooms, which was inspired by my father's sudden withdrawal of support for my wedding, due to the fact that I'm serving a vegan menu. Has anyone else gone through an experience like this?? Also, I'd love to get 7 share ideas from vegan weddings with the public at large, as well as featuring real vegan weddings when the site is launched. Thanks for the great work peta2!! I'd love to exchange links!!
