Yep, that's right … Kelly Clarkson has gone vegetarian and you heard it here first. OK, well, second if you read her blog, and third if you heard a recent interview she did with a UK radio station but no need to get technical.
When the DJ talks about eating a huge steak while visiting Amarillo, Texas, Kelly says she's been a vegetarian for over a year: " … I tried it and it's been great so a 72 oz. steak in front of me right now might make me barf at this point."
The DJ teases her throughout the rest of the interview saying she can't be a vegetarian in Texas, but she holds her own telling him, "It's so much better though, man, I feel better … " Go Kelly!
I'd like to think my Davey Havok and the rest of the AFI boys had something to do with this, I mean after all, it was at Live Earth where she said she first heard about the devastating effects the meat industry had on the environment.
And maybe fellow American Idol winner and former Sexiest Vegetarian Alive Carrie Underwood was a bit of an influence, too. I mean she always talks about being veg and helping animals, so you never know.

I am not to much of a Kelly fan so I don't listen to her music. But I am glad that she has decided to change her lifestyle.

"i’ve been hanging with family during the holidays and i made my first turkey with my sister this year ….which is kind of hilarious seeing as how i haven’t eaten meat in over a year, but it was fun to make. and by fun, i mean our turkey was awesome and everything but i’ll never do it again. it was freakin’ exhausting!!"
doesn't sound very vegetarian to me…
what does making a turkey have to do with not being vegetarian? it was thanksgiving for christsake and she was feeding her family. i'm a vegetarian chef and i cook meat all the time, i just don't eat it myself. i hope some day i get used to people making idiotic comments on the internet, cause it sure ain't gonna stop.

kk: i guess being a vegetarian CAN be separate from being an animal rights activist. anyone who's preparing dead birds for holidays (vegetarian or not) is not much of an animal rights activist- in my humble opinion. you should expect ppl to react when something like that is mentioned on petas site.

im a huge fan of her and am so glad she is vegetarian!
Who cares? I'm sure she's just jumping on the bandwagon that so many other celebrities; she probably just wants to lose even more weight. But hey, good for her; that's another meat eater gone.

I don't listen to her music but when I saw her on SNL, you could tell she had gained weight and I was thinking she's probably been eating fried chicken. But no! she hasn't!
brittyn- yeah, that doesn't sound very vegetarian.. No vegetarian would want to make a turkey or even touch it.
^ maybe, but thats still a good thing, cos if she loses weight it will encourage more people to try vegetarianism.

Kelly ROCKS — and is even a bigger STAR for being public about her vegetarianism. Rock starts are a dime-a-dozen who could care less about the world around them..but Kelly now has put her self in that much higher category of super-PERSON as well — a musician who is also an 'artist' of a human being as well.
I am in both the music and 'political' worlds, as a professional bassist, and a journalist, so I greatly appreciate those who see the connections between their art and the world around them. I also have an 11-year old daughter who is a huge Kelly fan..and that makes me REALLY happy. ALL THE BEST to you KELLY!!! STAY SHINING!!!!

Too bad she was in a milk though especially since she's lactose intolerant.
I'm not a big kelly fan either but I like it when celebrities go vegetarian becuase they can really inspire their fans.
It's great she's vegie but too bad she's in Dove ads which of course is owned by Unilver and she was in Candies ads which use leather.
