Guess what y'all? Britney Spears just released the super secret details of her upcoming "Circus" tour and we are tickled pink...Brit Brit's circus is going to be animal-free! We're so pleased we sent her a big fat "thank you" bouquet.
And thanks to all of you out there who wrote to Britney asking her to leave exotic animals out of her act because it would appear she got the message loud and clear. I'm just hoping that she continues to remember that animals don't belong in the entertainment industry.

I always liked Britney.
Posted by: Allison at February 6, 2009 4:27 PMy the heck?
i hate her!
i liked her wen she was unger, but now that shes older she shows too much of herself, can she live without being in the spot lite 4 a day? but then again her sisters just as bad! baha!
if this is true im proud of her....but i think theres got to be some background behind thing, i dont think shed be someone to actually go fully animal-free, shes not even freekin vegetarian!?
omg yay! after the incident with the snake a few years ago i never thought i'd see this. thank you britney :] i'm sure her tour will be fabulous, along with being cruelty free!
Posted by: ab at February 6, 2009 5:30 PMIt's great that her tour isn't going to have animals. But, her circus video features two elephants. Maybe if she reshot the video I would have respect for her, but right now, I don't. She's still promoting the circus and their animal abuse every time her video is watched.
Posted by: Rachel at February 6, 2009 5:41 PMGood. I've always had faith in her. (And I really liked the CD that came out last year-ish.)
Yay!
THATS FREAKIN AWESOME!
Posted by: Laurie at February 6, 2009 6:11 PMit may be true that her tour in animal cruelty free... but her music video is not.
nice try brit.
WOOO!!
Posted by: emily at February 6, 2009 7:59 PMI think most of you are being too critical. I don't think Brittney had the intention of "promoting" animal abuse. In fact, that's just plain silly. Her song "circus" is merely about being in the spotlight. It's an analogy, not a statement that circuses are cool, correct, or any of the above.
I'm very happy to hear that, despite the video, the tour will be animal-free. You dont have to be a vegetarian to make a difference! Congratulations Brit!
Posted by: Kelsey at February 6, 2009 8:29 PMYAY! GO BRIT!
Posted by: Megan at February 6, 2009 8:59 PMYAY! Now I dont have to feel so guilty about buying the song Circus before I saw that the video was cruel. GO BRIT!!!
Posted by: Josh at February 6, 2009 9:38 PMI would have to say well done britney!
and the animals are thanking you as well.
cheers
Big deal, the animals will just be used as someone else's sideshow.
What an amazing victory.
Not.
Posted by: Anonymous at February 7, 2009 2:21 AMgo britney :)that's a start. one thing leads to another hopefully :)
Posted by: Miri at February 7, 2009 4:52 AMWhat a waste of PETA money! Britany doesn't need anymore stuff! Good she's not using animals but she's still trashy.
Posted by: Courtney at February 7, 2009 10:46 AMBe thankful for what you get move forward from here not backwards.
Posted by: Bonnie at February 7, 2009 11:39 AMin reply to melissa,
she can't not be in the spotlight...
she's famous.
paparazzi follow her everywhere; it's not her fault.
anyway,
yay! go britney (:
i've always loved that girl.
and hey, she's making progress (:
cool! i really like her album & now i like it more! its cool that her head its fine nowwww wohoooo
Posted by: cristina at February 7, 2009 1:22 PMgood job :D
Posted by: Sami at February 7, 2009 3:35 PMOMG that makes me so happy! My friend is actually going to go see her upcoming "circus" and i was like "NOO she uses animals!" But then she told me that it was going to be animal-free and now i REALLY do believe it! Yay! I am not a fan of Britney Spears but i definitely support her in this! Good luck on your show Brit!
Posted by: Melissa at February 7, 2009 8:25 PMas always, ms. spears u are fabulous!!! im so looking forward to tour!!!
Posted by: RosiRockstar at February 7, 2009 8:40 PMWell, at least she's done it now. While the video may still feature animals - at least she's now changed her ways - which really, as we all know, is a big move for her! The use of animals are kind of her thing... so yay!
Posted by: Gillian at February 7, 2009 11:04 PMSo, I am also super excited about this.. I was really depressed when I saw her circus video. Not everyone is going to live a fully animal free life immediately. But with some education, who knows.. maybe brit will surprise us all. I have always liked britney as an entertainer and now excluding exotic animals from her show makes me very happy.
YAY :D
Posted by: at February 8, 2009 3:58 AMIm really happy she isnt using animals in the tour, but like many people said, she hasnt re-shot her music vid. Maybe we should tell her about that aswell?
Posted by: Betsy at February 8, 2009 8:48 AMYAY congrats britney!
melissa- wow how can you hate someone you don't even know? it really doesnt matter if she vegetarian or not, just be happy that she's not using animals on her tour. So stop being so disrespectful. Laughing at her family problems is just low. Like it doesnt matter who the person is or what they have done, you shouldnt be so mean.
Posted by: Rosi at February 8, 2009 10:43 AMi Love u Britney keep it Up!!!
Posted by: abie at February 8, 2009 10:47 AMWhat would be the point in re-shooting the video? What's done is done.
Great that someone realized having a cruelty free concert would be beneficial! Maybe now they'll know for future references that people will prefer that.
And you don't have to be a vegetarian to do something good for animals. Appreciate it for what it is.
And ps: we're the ones putting her in the spot-light.
Well done to britney and a big thank you to patricia for the story...you rock..
Posted by: John Purves at February 8, 2009 12:45 PMthank you!!!!!!!!
Posted by: v at February 8, 2009 1:01 PMThat's great!
I've always had faith in her.
LIKE WHEN SHE USED THE SNAKE?!?!
Posted by: phuong at February 9, 2009 6:17 AMWell this is good news! (:
Posted by: ^-^ at February 9, 2009 11:11 PMPersonally, I don't think that shes going "animal free" on her tour on purpose, it's OBVIOUS that it would be too much hassle to carry animals around with her the whole time! And whenever her song Circus comes on, I feel sick coz it straight away makes me think of those poor animals. So really, until she removes the animals from her videos shes still promoting cruelty no matter whether some of you think she's not. She probably doesn't even realise that having them on there is cruelty. Just as long as her videos are "popular". If she cared that much about animals she would NOT put them in her videos doing cruel tricks in the first place.
Posted by: Jay at February 9, 2009 11:29 PMoh really???
i didnt know that!
i also wrote to her......awesome that she got the message!
Posted by: Ixchel at February 10, 2009 5:04 PMI wouldn't congratulate her on this. It's not like it was even her own choice. Peta and it's followers forced her to do it. They need to stop targeting her.
Posted by: ~~~ at February 15, 2009 1:47 PMGo Brittany! I have always been a fan of her but now i am even more cuz those elephants do not deserve to be treated like. Hey you never know if Brittany stops abusing animals she could be a inspiration to other people and they maybe stop doing it too.
Posted by: Diane at February 27, 2009 10:04 PMFantastic news, well done everyone!
