Circus Tokio Hotel Bill Kaulitz Tom Kaulitz T-Pain

After watching Tokio Hotel's recent DVD, Caught on Camera, two things became very clear to me—the boys in Tokio Hotel are hilarious, and they really care about animals. When the subject of their rather elaborate entrance to MTV's Video Music Awards on a monster truck came up, the boys took the opportunity to mention how they felt about rapper T-Pain arriving on an elephant.
Tokio Hotel's vocalist (with the best hair ever, I might add), Bill Kaulitz, said "it was sheer cruelty—it was that." Bill's brother and Tokio Hotel's guitarist, Tom, followed Bill's thought by saying "I hate zoos and circuses. People shouldn't take their children to either one." We couldn't agree more, boys! Circuses are certainly no fun for animals, as they are confined to small enclosures, forced to do tricks, beaten with sharp metal bullhooks, and unable to live a normal life. Thankfully, there are quite a few all human circuses out there, which are a very entertaining alternative!
If you haven't seen the DVD for yourself, you can purchase it here!

Posted by: Elena Corona at January 29, 2009 8:33 PMBill, Tom, Georg and Gustav are really awesome guys! When I saw that scene on the DVD, I was really happy, too. To know that my favourite band cares about animals means the world to me.
Posted by: Marc at January 29, 2009 9:49 PMI thought that part was really cute and I agree with them. Zoos and circuses really bother me.

Posted by: Schnee at January 29, 2009 11:11 PMomg!! omg!! i love tokio hotel and seeing them on PETA makes them better!!

Posted by: kristina at January 30, 2009 12:02 AMI am a vegetarian for 7.5 years and a Tokio Hotel fan for 9.5 months - both lifestyles are beautiful and life-affirming and compliment each other fantastically. Props for picking up on the sweetness of this brilliant band, PETA.
Posted by: Vnlasteamer at January 30, 2009 1:11 AMYay! I love Tokio Hotel- first heard them in Germany years ago!
I think it is brilliant to be in their posistion and care about animals so- keep it up boys :)
Posted by: Licime at January 30, 2009 2:25 AMI've also seen that DVD and that was the one thing that stood out the most to me. Anyone who has seen a circus elephant shackled out in the holding area knows that they are not treated well and live a sad life. It warmed my heart to hear those boys talking about the importance of zoos for protecting endangered species, but being against the use of animals for entertainment.
Posted by: Michelle at January 30, 2009 7:28 AMOur twins Bill and Tom are not like Olsen twins, Tom and Bill love animals! They really have shitloads of heart! That's why we love them! Thanks Peta for great article (:
Posted by: Jenny at January 30, 2009 7:42 AMaaw. they're so good. love'em..

Posted by: Johanna at January 30, 2009 9:26 AMThey do love animals! Thank God they haven't given up eating them, though, because Bill can use all the fat he can get!!
Posted by: Jerry at January 30, 2009 9:27 AMI love Tokio Hotel and I adore PETA. It means a lot to me that my most favorite band in the world care about animal and their treatment. :}
Posted by: Lazurline at January 30, 2009 9:30 AMI LOVE TOKIO HOTEL AND ANIMALS, THIS IS NICE TO KNOW!
Posted by: erika at January 30, 2009 10:11 AMawh, these boys are too perfect.
Posted by: Kimberly at January 30, 2009 10:43 AMWOW I LOVE TOKIO HOTEL AS MUCH AS I LOVE MY LIFE THAT IS SO WONDERFUL THAT THEY REALLY CARE ABOUT ANIMALS!!! THIS IS A GREAT THING! IF THE HATERS OF TOKIO HOTEL HEARD THIS IM SURE THEY MIGHT CHANGE THERE MIND! AND THE HATERS OF ANIMALS THAT MIGHT LIKE TOKIO HOTEL MIGHT JUST CHANGE THERE MINDS AS WELL
Posted by: Samantha at January 30, 2009 10:57 AMI absolutely love these boys and it was heart-warming to hear their strong opinion on animal rights. Thank you PETA for such a great article about the goodness these boys bring
Posted by: Alex at January 30, 2009 1:33 PMAnd it's not even the first time when they say thet they love animals. And I should add that it's the first time I see Tom speaking from so deep of his heart and with such a serious face. I love you Tom!!! Oh and after few days its gonna be a year when I don't eat meat, I know it's not musch, but still I'm happy for making this decision!! AAAAAnd Bill always eats pizza without meat!! We know it's his favourite food, and he always eats margarita awwww!!!
Posted by: Ema at January 30, 2009 2:24 PMThat was one part that really stand out in the dvd. It was really heart warming. Bill my luv!!!!!! Honestly T-Pain should have taken the elephant..it was really hat that day...i wouldnt like to know how the elephant felt...poor thing.
Posted by: Irene at January 30, 2009 3:27 PMI can guarantee, that if Bill or Tom would stop eat meat thousands of girls would follow them, just how to make them (: ?
Posted by: Tom at January 30, 2009 4:04 PMomg i love Bill and Tom und Georg und Gustav :)
but where is this on the dvd? the deluxe edition?
Posted by: Juliejuicebox at January 30, 2009 4:52 PMTheyre the best, and yes, f*ck the rest!
Posted by: Tess at January 30, 2009 5:56 PMI'm glad that they feel that way about circuses and zoo cause I have always felt the same. They are horrible places. It makes me happy to see how many celebrities out there are against animal cruelty. It brings the world a step closer to stopping it if people big in the media bring it out in the open.
Posted by: Vanessa at January 30, 2009 6:47 PMYay! Tokio Hotel is so unbelievebly awesome! Thanks for recognizing them PETA!
I have the DVD! I was so happy for what they've said. I became vegetarian before I knew of my favorite band, Tokio Hotel, so I loved them even before I knew they cared for animals... but this makes them so much cooler!! =]
OMG. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT TOKIO HOTEL LOVED ANIMALS...!!! GAHHHHHH!!! first rise against and now tokio hotel. wheeee i loveee them! im glad that they care :)
Posted by: Joanna at January 30, 2009 10:10 PMIt was totally cool that Bill and Tom think that confinement of a living animal is pure cruelty. im glad the were able to comment on that and the are forver going to be my idols
its just nother reason to love them =]♥
Oh wow thats great they have a kind heart for animals :D I love their music too and well i think both of the twins have awesome hair ♥
Posted by: Mayra at January 31, 2009 12:01 AM=) Good boys ^_^
Posted by: Ф@н@тк@ at January 31, 2009 5:20 AMHa wow,no wonder Bill's so thin. And so cute!I wonder why T-Pain chose an elephant, aye? And just when I thought his music was bad enough[MY OPINION].
Posted by: Hermaphroditus at January 31, 2009 4:29 PMEEESH! This only makes me love the boys even more! ^___^ I felt bad for the elephant too. T_T i dont like T-Pain anyways. ;DD Rock on Tokio Hotel
Posted by: Madie at January 31, 2009 4:54 PMawwwww siii ellos son lo mejor y eso q quieran ls animalas ls hacen mas interesantes y diferentes al resto de artistas q no ls importa nada de ese tema tan importa!!!!
aaaa amo a bill y a tom!!!
Tom: I totally agree with you. I saying this about 3 years :)
Posted by: Viette at February 1, 2009 8:31 AMi love tokio hotel i remenber that i sod t-pain wich a elephant i felt the same way the elphant did bcuz 4 me is cruelity i think that i sod on vma wend paramore arive
Posted by: michelle at February 1, 2009 8:38 AMI agree about Animal circuses and zoos, be in bad, with the exception of the Oakland zoo, which contains only rescue animals , and the elephant enclosure provides a one mile hike for it's occupants.
Posted by: sophia(e) at February 1, 2009 8:46 PMYes, I completely agree with the whole circus and zoo thing. (And about Bill's hair.) It's so cruel that they force animals to perform tricks against their will because they know if they don't, they'll be beaten. It's not natural for them to live like that.
Posted by: Marissa at February 3, 2009 3:30 PMBill is amazing, so quite obviously his hair has to be. :P
I don't necessarily agree with the boys on this one. I believe that as long as they have good homes and are properly taken care of, animals can be wherever they want. *waits for the criticism*
God, could they be anymore perfect? These guys are sweethearts with a ton of talent. I was so angry when I saw T-Pain show up, what a repulsive display of cruelty. People need to have more feelings and compassion in this world, kudos to Tokio Hotel for noticing that. This is just another reason on a very long list to love them ♥
Posted by: Ophelia at February 5, 2009 5:27 PMYou go, guys! That part of the DVD completely took me by surprise. I was basically keeled over laughing at all the twins' egotistical ramblings, and then those comments appeared. I was like, wait, what? Did the Kaulitz twins really just stick it to circuses and zoos? Whoohoo! Jeez, I adore them.
Posted by: MiaZ at February 7, 2009 10:53 PMAMO A TOKIO HOTEL SON LOS MEJORES!!!
Posted by: ashley at February 14, 2009 10:50 AMwe love tokio hotel i love tom
Posted by: clau at February 23, 2009 10:03 AMwait, they "love animals" but none of them are vegetarian, let alone vegan? they say two sentences about an elephant and that makes them "love animals"?? doesn't that seem a bit... hypocrite?
all animals are equal, whether it's an elephant, a cow, a rat, a dog or a fish. and all of them should have the basic right not to be judged on their species and thus not to be enslaved, encaged, tortured or killed by humans.
stop speciesism! go vegan today!
Posted by: abolitionist vegan at March 15, 2009 8:47 PMi love tokio hotel and animals so it made me happy to know they disagreed with tpain arriving on an elephant. but i'm not so sure they truly care about animals cuz i remember bill saying something about wearing real leather pants for tokio hotel's video automatic. it made me sad when i heard that
Posted by: at October 3, 2009 6:44 PMi love tokio hotel plus animals are a huge part of my life thats why i am now a vegetarian because recycling helps the earth like not eating animals saves lives of humans and animals!!
(^.^)H.K.yay
