I have four and a half words for you: Vegan pirates saving whales — yarr!
Yes, for too long it's been generally assumed that pirates do nothing more than seek out doubloons and say hilarious phrases like "shiver me timbers!" and "a-yo-ho-ho".
The good people of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society are changing all of that though. These people are the real deal, and using nonviolent methods of direct action, they have been fighting to defend the rights of sea animals for over 30 years.

Now, the friendly folks of Animal Planet will be highlighting the group's efforts in exciting detail as part of a new program called "Whale Wars", which starts tonight at 9pm (EST)!

I really hope they show this on TV in the UK... or at least bring out a DVD I can hire!

Animal Planet has these channels in theor network:
Discovery Channel / TLC / Animal Planet / Discovery Health / Science Channel / Planet Green / Discovery Kids / Military Channel
Im wondering, is the show going to air on only 1 channel or a few of their channels on the network?!!

In a comic called One Piece there is a reindeer pirate.
I know it has nothing to do with the topic at hand and phooey to whale hunting but still.
I thought PETA members might get a giggle out of knowing somewhere in the world there is a pirate related story where there is a reindeer pirate. :)
