Happy Friday everyone! I want to introduce you to my friend Shane Harrison who graciously donated a skate deck he designed for this week's Free Stuff Friday. Shane lives in Georgia, works for Woodward Skateparks, and spends his time making art and hanging out with his animal companions Tasha and Sinatra (pictured below).

peta2: What are the names of your animal companions?
SH: Tasha is the name of my dog. She has a few nicknames as well. I often call her BIG Black. My cat's name is Sinatra. I gave her this name because of her crazy blue eyes and she has a BIG mouth. She's so loud. She meows all the time and makes crazy noises. She and I actually have conversations. Seriously, we do. We don't know what each other is saying but we know how to chat. Her nickname is "the Mouth of the South".
peta2: How did Tasha and Sinatra come into your life?
SH: Tasha came into my life due to an old friend. I lived with him and his dog kind of fell in love with me and not him. I paid more attention to her so she took a liking to me. An old girlfriend that I lived with wanted Sinatra because she was looking for a cat, and as soon as Sinatra came home, she fell in love with me. I think it's because of the noises I make. I'm a nerd and I'm always making noises or trying to mimic some kind of noise that I hear. That's how we began to talk to each other.
peta2: What is your favorite thing about having these two in your life?
SH: The love and friendship that I get. They both greet me when I come home and they're both excited to see me. They both have so much personality.
peta2: How do you feel about products that are tested on animals?
SH: I'm not too stoked on that idea. Animals aren't going to be using these products, so why are they testing them on animals? What about testing them on people? I'm sure there are people in this world that wouldn't give a hoot about being tested on, especially for a little money.
peta2: How do you feel about people who wear fur? (Especially knowing that fur farms in China kill dogs and cats for their fur.)
SH: It's pretty lame. Modern man can make so much from cotton and hemp and other materials that there's no reason to use fur.
Shane knows his stuff when it comes to animal rights, and it seems like he has some animal magnetism! You can check out his MySpace to see more of his art!

I would give this to a needy child for christmas.
Not only does my son love skateboarding, when he was three years old, he refused to eat a "dead animal" at daycare and the rest of the daycare kids followed suit. The poor daycare giver had to put away the freshly made meatloaf and make peanut butter sandwiches for all the kids!!!

I believe i should win this skateboard is beacause i love skateboarding and i love animals. I am a large supporter of peta. I have made many protests at kfc and i also voulneteer at the animal shelter. I ride my skate board to the shelter but my board is broken. So help a skater and a veganatrian get a new skateboard.

I would love to win the deck because I L♥VE PETA!! and this would always remind me of them when I'm out riding with my friends. Everytime I'd ride it or hold it, it would motivate me to keep on being VEGAN. This deck isn't just a board I can most deffinately ride around ESTATICALLY but a tool I can use, a motivator to influence others to go Veg. Not only for their own health but for the cool things you get out of it.

I would love to win this deck for my nephews they have decided that they are going to open there own skateboard restoring and design buisness (they are only 11 and 12! I think this deck would inspire them to really go for it!!
i think i should get the deck because i love to skate, even though i wouldnt skate on that i would hang it on the wall, and also i have recently gone vegetarian and am very proud of myself, no meat at all for 8 months straight now and havent broke once, but also i think i deserve it because well skate is my life and i would love to have that deck
I dont really like to answer why i think i should win something. I think this deck should go to somebody that is really helping animals in every way that they can. im just starting to be a vegitarian. it was actually you guys that inspired me to go vegan. o and u guys made me wanna be a vetanarian. no lie, im actually a buddhist. i just wanna help animals in every way possible. i get picked on regularly about it. but i dont care. i know what im doing is helping so many animals out there. i wanna get some of those stickers so i can put them around the local skatepark to motivate others to help animals. i would like to win the deck because it would further help me motivate others. thank you guys. u all help so many animals.

About how long does it take for you to makenone board design?
hi i wish i could be the one to win because im a massive fan of skateboarding and have been skateing for 20 years i also have 3 dogs that i have taken of the streets in china and look after so now i cant actually afford a new board as i spend so much money on dog food and treats for my babys im not joking really my dogs come first at the moment and my biggest one freddy has decided he likes the taste of my old plan b board so he has also claimed that to so please please pick me so i can let freddy keep my old deck that is now pretty soggy and i can enjoy a nice new one and continue to spend all my money on my doggys thanks xx
i think i should win because i broke my last deck since it was so old , all i got is the trucks and wheels so i havent skated in around 2 months and i can't get a new deck.
I think i should get this skateboard because about two days ago some old lady ran over mine and before i can say anything she takes off and leaves with my broken skateboard!
i have been a vegan for a year and a half and constantly trying to convince my boyfriend to become atleast a vegetarian and he told me the only way he would is if i got him a new skate board…kinda lame but i will do what it takes to get him into this life style. i believe if i am going to get him a skate board it should at least be one for the cause(:
