Happy International Hug a Vegetarian Day! Have you hugged all your friends yet?
In case you're a little hug-shy, I have compiled the top ten reasons you should hug your vegetarian friends today (and everyday)!
10. If it's true that you are what you eat then vegetarians are the only ones worth hugging—would you really want to hug rotting meat?
9. Gorgeous people like Davey Havok and Alyssa Milano are also meat-free.
8. Vegetarians get to wear the best clothes.
7. Because they're wearing a sign that says to!
6. Vegetarians don't support cruelty.
5. Vegetarians are super cute. (If you need proof, check out the peta2 staff.)
4. Vegetarians are really nice and they will hug you back (unless you are really creepy).
3. Vegetarians are doing their part to help the environment.
2. Vegetarians smell better than meat eaters! (I'm serious—check out this study.)
1. Vegetarians save more than 100 animals every year, just by not eating them!

I think it's important to hug your vegetarian friends (I've got over 20 hugs already and it's only 10:54) because we are the most loving caring nice people and we save so many animals all the time!!

They are knowledgable about animal cruelty and help make the world a better and safer place! Plus, who wouldn't want to hug a veg? They smell better and are cute! Everyone loves cute people! Some of my best friends are animals--they're amazing, have awesome personalities, and so caring and intelligent. I want to hug vegetarians for doing their part to help animals who are every bit as special and unique as the animals I'm lucky enough to know. I also think they deserve some extra hugs for taking a stand on something that is still seen as "uncool" by a lot of ignorant people. Since they might not be getting a lot of love from their other peers, they definitely need more from other vegetarians!

The best reason to hug a vegetarian is because, as a general rule, they tend to be more conscious about ALL of their choices overall, and have less of a sheep mentality (no offense to sheep, of course). This means that the vegetarian in question is taking the time to make the right choices , and not just mindlessly walking through their lives. I am a Vegan, but I believe that vegetarians are on the right path and should be encouraged to go the extra mile for Veganism in a gentle and supportive manner.

Oh my god, both of these are adorable. I hugged 15 people for Hug a Vegetarian Day (and used my supercute hot pink 'why vegetarians are the best' wallpaper on my school computer). I would love either one of these shirts.
My favorite one of these is the one with the green heart. I wear a small in t-shirts, and I think the number one reason to hug a vegetarian is: Everyone wants hugs, but vegetarians are the only ones for the jobs. Hugging an omnivore (who, as your packet reminds us, is a "living grave" of slaughtered beasts) is like climbing right on top of a body in a coffin and squeezing it. Yeah, THAT'S a pretty picture.

why should an animal suffer just for me? it shouldn't! i been vegetarian for three years and couldn't imagine eating an animal!

I want to hug a vegetarian today because hugs are awesome and so is being vegetarian! I didn't actually get to hug any vegetarians today though, since I come from a very rural school and there aren't any that I know of. But I recieved a ton of hugs from everyone. Hugs in general are awesome, but vegetarian hugs are way better because we're hot and we know it; just kidding.
But seriously, hug a vegetarian day was the best, it was even better than my birthday! Lol. And if I were to win one of these shirts, every day could be 'hug a vegetarian day!'

and i would a vegetarian any and everyday if i were actually to know one besides me but i live in the country whereeveryone is fishers and hunters and stuff but vegetarians are amazing so why not hug them

Peace is something everyone should be able to experience and vegetarians understand this! Peace is always in style and living a vegetarian life is the best way to live!

I wanted to hug people (in general) to show them that vegetarians aren't only about protesting, but also about compassion and understanding. I hugged a resounding 29 people and, out of them, there was one vegetarian, one peschatarian and the rest were omnivores. I even hugged my first period teacher who asked why I'm vegetarian. Everyone (even animals) deserves compassion and that's why I'm vegetarian. (going vegan!) Animals - Cruelty = LOVE!!! :]

i wear a girls/ womens medium and i like the yellow one.
i think that vegetarians deserve a day for themselves to honor them for the sacrifice they have made for animals welfare.
today was the funnest day ever because i go to a small school so most people know me and it was so fun, i gave out peta stickers to everyone who hugged me and people loved the stickers! they came back for 5-6 hugs to get the awesome stickers

#1 reason i love hugging vegetarians today, it gets out and gets more people educated, they want to know more about why we are hugging, whats the sign about, and more about PETA. its great having more opportunities to share PETA vegetarians and love for fellow meatless people.

My BEST friend Gennifer is a vegetarian, has been for almost a year now. Every one said she couldnt do it, but she totally proved them wrong. she got me into peta and i love the activism and the support for animals. to show it on my body for everyone to see would be amazing!

My top #1 reason for wanting to hug vegetarians EVERYDAY is they might share their yummy veggy snacks with me!
I love both of the t-shirts! The veggies are so cute looking and I love the heart design with the writing inside but if I HAD to choose then I'd probably say the green heart t-shirt because I prefer the colour green!

My top one reason to hug a vegatarian? Because you can fit more then one vegan or vegatarian into a hug and it makes it that much sweeter! Haha. And think about all the saved pigs you could hug by being a vegatarian or vegan.

Small please. I would really like to have this shirt for so many reasons.
1. Im on this campaign spreading Vegetarianism.
2. Im currently giving out pins to friends-to spread the love. I got the "Jesus, Loves me Too PIN" made.
3. It would really help to show more and to tell more how cool it is to be a vegan.

4. To show people that vegans get HUGS from lots of people :)

I would love to wear this shirt because it has a great message, will get a lot of questions from people (which will give me the chance to explain to them why im a vegitarian, and why we're worth hugging) and because it shows everyone just how proud i am of being meat-free!!

#1 reason = because we need love as not many people know the whole story about the meat industry, and vegans and vegies, are the only ones who are making a change. going un noticed, we need the love, it keeps us going. and we have the best huggable bodies.

Veg*ns around here are met with a lot of adversity, and every one deserves a big hug.

my #1 reason is that I am a vegetarian for more than a year now and I adore hugs, especially if I could wear one of these while hugging my veggies! Everyone at my school really knows me as the vegetarian odd one :] because I'm not like the others, and I show who I am through things like theses adorable shirts!

My number one reason for celebrating Hug A Vegetarian day is to show everyone that vegetarianism is worth the while. So what if you have to give up your mom's famous meatloaf or your uncles potroast. You recieve soo much more from going veggie environmentally, humainly, SOCIALLY, and health wise. It's great to be a vegetarian/Vegan!

....because vegetarians KNOW what true compassion is, and people who have a lot of compassion give the best hugs!

I think people should hug vegetarians because they smell better than meat eaters. Seriously, they do. I like the shirt with the green heart and wear a size large.
Large with the vegtables on it.
Vegatarinism is a great way to show how much you care for other species and a way to prove to the enviroment you can help it. By huggin a vegatarian weather your a meat eat or not can help support the fact you do recongnize that we are trying to make a difference and provding people with the knowledge of what a difference we are making to the world.
Also on the fact it can make someone smile :):)

it takes a big person to love something that is considered to be beneath us.

I hug vegetarians everyday! My two sons (4 YO and 2 YO) are very outspoken vegetarians. They are incredibly healthy boys (my 4 YO is now 4 feet tall!) and people are always astounded to learn that they have never had meat (even before they were born).

I hugged all my vegetarian/vegan friends on the 26th because they all are so awesome! They really care for animals, their rights and the environment- which to me are the most important things in this world. Also, by hugging all the veg[etari]an people I knew, I showed others, at school and at the mall where we hung out after school, that non-meat eaters are full of love, compassion and care!

I like the yellow one-with the cute carrot and squash. I am a new vegetarian(3 mos.) and I feel so much better,physically AND spiritually-nothing has to die so I can eat. I believe in the Buddhist wisdom,that everything alive is a "sentient being" and has a right to be alive,even so called "pests" like flies and rats. I would rather hug a vegetarian because they are peaceful people,committed to a better world. I don't really want to hug murderers(meat eaters)- they all seem to feel like they can still eat meat,that it's "someone else's problem" the horrible abuses in the flesh for food industries. If I would win a shirt,I need size men's XL (as big as you've got!) I like my clothes loose and baggy. Keep up the good fight,PETA!!

But the number one reason to hug a vegetarian is because we know we are loved.
on hug a vegetarian day, my friends hugged me in front of a mall and everyone was staring at us, and I went "have you hugged a vegetarian yet?!"

What I love about the shirt is the impression it gives of vegetarians. We are loving, respectful, and quirky souls who have a genuine love for animals, one another, and our planet. Gone are the days where vegetarianism was considered a cult-like affectation; here are the days in which vegetarianism is embraced and promoted. If every one of us could devote our energy into convincing one other person to go veg, I honestly believe we could each walk away feeling proud of ourselves for spreading that uplifting message.
The bright, bold colors of the vegetables on the shirt convey the same vibrancy, vitality, and enthusiasm of body, character, and mind I believe is a key indicator of a vegetarian (or vegan). We are unafraid to voice our opinions, question others' decisions, and beleaguer our waiter with requests for a cheeseburger without either the cheese or the burger. We are uninhibited because we are so aware of our surroundings, of the well-being of our fellow animals, and the needs of our beloved planet.
Many vegetarians believe a key reason not more people are vegetarian is simply the issue of awareness. So why don't we as vegetarians make that not even an issue by spreading the word? Why don't we show our friends, family, and even strangers how incredibly easy it is to live without eating meat? Why don't we wear our decision emblazoned proudly on our chests in the form of hugging vegetables and dole out hugs?

She's so very compassionate towards all animals and really proud to be a vegetarian. PLUS she always gives me great new (meatless of course) recipes to try , and they really are yummy! Helps me, and my husband, to cut back on meats ourselves and maybe wean off altogether eventually. Kinda hard to do after almost 60 years but working on it!

Because my daughter just became a vegetarian all on her own! She loves animals and rescues from horses to orphan kittens. She'd be so proud to wear this T-Shirt and of course, I'd hug her (I do anyway!). :)

Anyways I like the blueish greenish shirt with the heart because I think that heart represent's that us vegetarians have bigger hearts than anyone else ^_^
I think the #1 reason to hug a vegetarian is because us vegetarians care about other creatures... there's not a better way to say it... Period, we care ^_^
