Meat Spaghetti? August 18, 2008

Posted by Marta | Permalink | Comments ( 31 ) | TrackBack

You know how some parents resort to tricking their kids into eating certain foods when they're little? Try not to gag: "Meat scientists" have come up with a way to make meat into spaghetti to trick kids into eating meat. I thought seeing this picture was gross enough, but the video is definitely more disgusting.

Since many kids don't like eating meat, this product is being thought of as a "convenient yet healthy" food for families. Are you kidding me? This sounds like a product from that crazy Atkins diet craze a few years back. And wouldn't you love to know your parents tricked you into eating spaghetti made of cows and/or sheep?

We're all for "fake" products here at peta2—fakin' bacon and veggie burgers, for example. These products save animals' lives. Meat spaghetti, on the other hand, will not only cost more animals' lives—it's just downright revolting. Seriously, if you didn't check out the video yet, do so now.

Here's a radical concept: Why don't parents find other sources to give their kids protein? Hummus, bean burritos, and peanut butter sandwiches are all nutritious, delicious, and kid-friendly, so there's no need to sneak dead animals into kids' food.

Do you agree that "meat spaghetti" is disgusting?

Marta

Thats NASTY! Good thing I have great sense of taste and smell, I'll prolly be able to smell the blood in that "spaghetti" when it's still inside the shopping bag lol.

Its dispicable that any parent(s) would even think of doing that to their veg*n son or daughter. That's no different than trying to sneak pork onto the plate of a Jew or Muslim...

So let's see not only is it disgusting meat thrown into noodle type things, but it is used to TRICK the children. What is the meat industry so worried about losing costumers? That's of course as usual very fair. (sarcasm) Thats horrid! >:[

It's naive that parents believe the only way to get kids protein/have them be healthy is to sneak meat into their meals, and it's deceiving as well. What, are you just going to let them believe in Santa until they're eighteen?

Ew...that's gross. I remember when I was little I would NOT eat lamb, because I thought it was cruel enough to eat a full grown animal (my parents forced me because I barely ate) but to eat a baby one was worse. But then my friend' mum gave me a kebab with lamb in it, telling me it was beef! I wouldn't trust her after that...

I definitely agree!

As a fussy child, my parents would often try and trick me into eating food but I always managed to outsmart them!

If I'm ever a parent I will tell my children exactly what they're eating. I'm a teacher and I've met 9 year old children who had no idea that a chicken nugget contained dead animal flesh!

They're so stupid, they're poisoning their kids and don't understand that!

Bleh, that's truely sickening!
SO what if kids don't wanna eat meat, it's GROSS!!! They obviously see it the same way we vegs do! Wtf is wrong with the world these days?

Uuuuuughhh. Seeing the kid eating it the little bits of it falling out of his mouth makes me gag. Actually, the color of the pasta looks like the color of vomit. Voila. That is just too gross. Why do parents force their kids to eat meat anyway? Because it's supposedly healthy? It's the 21st century, and we're learning more about food than ever. C'mon people!

Any parents who give there children that should be charged with child endangerment, I think that that is the nasty thing I have ever saw. But what came we expect its from New Zealand

ew who ever tries to trick their vegetarian kid into eating that is really and truly a cruel parent. plus it doesnt even look like pasta it looks like my cat's vomit

Because propaganda is no longer enough, they are resorting to straight up deception. Ridiculous.

Thats revolting. The thought of even eating dead things makes me want to puke alone... but that actually did make me puke, for real.
