Tell Lowe's: Glue Traps Are Horrifying March 7, 2008

Lowe's glue traps
You know that company Lowe's? Well, I think it's shameful that they sell glue traps. You don't have to be a big time animal rights activist to know that it's cruel to kill animals with glue traps.
Glue traps are among the most cruel pest-control devices on the market today. Rats, mice, birds, and many other animals get stuck to them and suffer for days before they finally die of starvation, dehydration, self-mutilation, and shock. Patches of skin, fur, or feathers are torn from their bodies as they frantically struggle to escape the glue that starts coating their bodies.

Really, can you imagine how flat out horrifying it is for an animal caught in one of these traps?
But so far, not this, nor the fact that other companies—including CVS, Rite Aid, Albertsons, and Safeway—have banned glue traps has persuaded Lowe's to do the right thing and get rid of them once and for all.
Please take a second to fill out this form, which sends an automated letter to the CEO of Lowe's urging him to stop selling glue traps. Thanks for speaking up for animals in need of your help.
Thanks!

I think that it's really cruel that Lowe's keeps selling these glue traps and even more that people actually buy them!!!
Posted by: fatima at March 8, 2008 1:24 PMi hate those things. I feel bad for the animals. I few years ago my family had some and we had a young kitten who got caught in one and went totally insane tryign to get out! (obviously that was the end of those)

Heads up: By signing up here and giving us your details, we're taking that as acknowledgment that you've read and agreed to our privacy policy.

I've sent a message to Lowe's and this is the response I got:
"Thank you for your comments regarding glue traps.
As you know rodent control is an important concern for homeowners and business owners, and we have a responsibility to provide the products our customers need. Because not every product is right for every situation, Lowe’s carries more than 20 different rodent control products, including traps, poisons and electronic repellers, so the customer may choose the one that best suits their needs.
Thank you again for your input on this issue."
I have sent another e-mail and I will keep contacting them in response to their poor excuses.
