Win a Tofu Robot! January 4, 2008

Posted by Ashleigh | Permalink | Comments ( 22 ) | TrackBack

What do you get when you combine two of my favorite things? Tofu Robots!

I don't know if all of you have been exposed to these wondrous creations (the late Casey Calvert was the one who turned me on to them), but they are awesome! He loved their block heads and "stupid" faces, and I have to say that I agree.

Aren't they so cool looking? And guess what? We're giving one away! To win, leave a comment telling me what kind of robot you would make out of your favorite vegan food items. Mine would be a Tofutti Cutie robot! Oh, and pictures will probably help you with the whole winning thing . . .

And don't forget to watch our tribute video for Casey and hear what he had to say about these lovely toys. I wish he could see what you all come up with to win this contest . . .

The contest ends on January 18, 2008, and winners will be chosen and notified by January 25, 2008.

Just so you know...by commenting here, we're taking that as acknowledgment that you've read and agreed to our privacy policy.

Also by commenting, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.

And before I forget, have you guys checked out The Cool Kids yet? They are pretty sweet, and peta2 will be out on tour with them for a few shows, so go to their MySpace for more info and go check out the show if they play near you—you won't regret it!

Good Luck!

-Ashleigh

My robot would be a Boca burger robot. The outside would look like the outside of a vegan Boca burger box, and on the inside of the robot you can open it and there would be a small microwave in it to cook the Boca burgers. In the back of the robot it would have a space with ketschup and mustard. Underneath the microwave there would be another compartment where buns are stored, also the compartment will be warmed from the heating of the microwave so the buns will be nice and warm. The fet of the robot will look like Boca burgers (but not real bugers), and the buttons to the microwave will be on the back of it's head. For the fun of it; it's hand will have confetti in them and you can press a button on it's hand and the confetti will blast out of it's hands. It will also come woith a control and you can make the robot do 'The Boca Dance' which will consist of various movemets left to right and of course it will do 'the robot'.

I would make a Vegan Ice cream robot! The Robot would have pictures of Vegan Ice Cream on the front and all you do it grab the ice cream! and there is a special holder for your spoon. there is always COLD FRESH ICE CREAM! The robot stays cold through EVERYTHING! To get the ice cream out you just open the glass door and take the ice cream!

My robot is a macaroni and cheese robot!
his name would be Macashrooni.
In the belly would be a bunch of boiling water,
you can open the top of his head to pour the noodles in. since his belly is clear and you can see everything, you can watch as the robot cooks macaroni. On his nose is a timer you can turn for how long you want your noodles to cook. The robot keeps utensils like wooden spoons on his belt like a cowboy. He stirs his belly every two minutes, adding salt if needed (which is stored in belt). Once the macaroni is done, he says 'don't burn your noodles!'. Then you sit him down next to the sink, and press a button on his shoulder, ejecting the big pot of noodles and water (he turns the heat off when the length of time is done), and hold on to the handles and squeeze them and the bottom layer swings down on hinges to reveal a built in strainer. When the water is drained out, simply slide the handles into his hands and press the 'ok' button on his belt and cheese sauce squirts out of the bottom of his chin and he stirs it in with his belt utensils, once it's all incorporated, he says 'All Done!!'. Of course he only carries energy saving light bulbs, recycled metal and all natural vegan macaroni and cheese sauce. Enjoy!

I think my robot would be made out of a Boca as well. That besides Morning Star, and Garden Burger was my favorite veggietarian food. My Boca Robot would cook delicious Boca stuff for me, lol.

My robot would be a Morningstar robot. his name would be Drew. His body would be a fridge with enough room for a corn dog, some hot n' spicy chik'n nuggets, about 3 chik'n patties, and a couple of black bean burgers. his mouth would open up and be a little microwave. all different condements would be in his fingers(mustard, ketchup, salt pepper, and maybe a little bit of vegan BBQ.) each of his 4 ears would have different drinks including mountain dew, apple juice, pepsi, and root beer. his buns would be a compartment for buns. his feet would hold all kinds of veg literature and leaflets so that when people would see me and Drew hangin out and ask about him, i could give them some handy info. he would also have a remote control with different commands such as 'cha-cha' 'fetch the mail' 'go rent a movie' and 'make me some ____ with ____ on it and a little ____ to drink. Drew would also like to do many various dances. PS. sorry, pic wouldn't open.

I would make a So Delicious Chocolate Vegan Ice Cream robot. The body would be the tub of ice cream, but I think I would make mine a gallon container instead of just a puny quart. The arms would be holding spoons so that my friends and I can dig in. The head would be a stack of bowls for easy access. And, finally, the legs would be able to walk towards me when I command so that I won't have to walk to get my vegan pleasures!

Mine would be a tofurkey robot!!!! His body will be a tofurkey box and his head will be electric blue! and one of his legs will say "kind to" and the other will say "all animals." and then on the back he will have buttons and he will of course be able to walk and talk! and he will do all of your organic gardening and food shopping for you!!! and also it will have a rice despenser so you can have rice with your tofurkey! and soy sauce will come out of his mouth! he will also have boca burgers for feet! and he will have a cape with a peta2 logo! and his arms are forks that you can detach and eat with! And of course his neck will be pink like Pink for PETA! GO PINK!:D (oh and sorry for my poor photoshop skills. XD)

My robot wouldn't exactly be animal friendly although I am vegetarian but moreso eco-friendly :]
I'd go to my local dumpster && take things like milk juggs && things that people mostly throw away.
I'd cut off the top of a long cardboard milk kind of thing && then stick a little tini box in the upper elft of it, cut a square opening in the front of both boxes && stick a little tomatoe heart in there.
I'd cut out the front && put lettuce in the stomach area, I'd use papertowl little cardboard circular thingies for the leggs && put soy meat in them for muscles/ flesh.
For the feat I'd use little styrofoam chunks && then for the head I'd use another big chunk of styrofoam && cut a chunk in the top, put a battery on the inside of it && then attach a lightbulb to it so it can light up && that would be the brain.
I'd use a brand of sharpies to color in eyes, && nose, && mouth, && I'd use a little pipecleaner as an antenna with a cherry on top of it

Behold, the PETA BOT.

He is made of love, compassion, kindness, environmentalism, and of course, Vegan Hotdogs.

His daily routines includes converting meat eaters to the veggie-side, protesting KFC, replacing hotdogs with veggiedogs in the shopping cart when people aren't looking, and listening to music as cool as Hawthorne Heights, Bring Me The Horizon, Rise Against, Silverstein, and Chiodos.

PETA BOT was NOT programmed to be a vegetarian, or animal rights activist.

In fact: he was just a simple computer whose purpose was to make logical decision based on prior data.

As he learned about the Holocaust, and Slavery, and sexism, he realized speciesism was no different, and said "SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!"

And now, he is the animal liberating "PETA BOT".

Other hobbies includes:
Chilling with Ingrid Newkirk
Watching films such as Earthlings, Your Mommy Kills Animals, and I Am An Animal
And eating oreos.

He hates Beyonce, and the Trollsen Twins.
And he loves to hug chickens.

He thinks it's amazing how chickens can talk to their chicks while they are still in the egg! He also thinks that pigs are amazing, especially since they are considered as smart as three year old humans! And cows simply cute.

All the PETA BOT can ask is, "Why do humans cause unecessary pain?"

PETA BOT would like to tell everyone "Though I am a robot... I was not programmed or brainwashed by PETA, it was PETA that showed me the light."

PETA BOT. He is the voice inside each animal rights activist.

"LIBERATION!"

Thank you PETA BOT.
Want to see a picture of the PETA BOT?

Check him out!
