Students Vote to Keep KFC Off Campus! January 31, 2008

After gathering over 500 petition signatures from their fellow students, the Power of One student animal rights group at Florida Gulf Coast University has successfully passed a bill in their student government stating KFC is NOT welcome on their campus, for reasons of cruelty to animals!

I think it's great when a small number of people can make something this big happen and have a positive effect on their commuinty.

It really made me smile and I have to say that I am really proud of the FGCU students and their moral stand agains KFC. This activism and moral commitment is something you RARELY see at any Florida institution. Way to go guys!!!!

Posted by: judith at February 14, 2008 7:53 PMThat's kickass what you can do with a few signatures. I get nervous doing this kind of stuff because i'm the only vegan i know of in my school (except for my favorite teacher), but i'm doing all that I can to help :)
i think its great that students are grabbing theinitiative and thinking for themselves by opening their eyes to what they eat. More people need to time out of their busy lives to think about what they eat.

In the news yesterday they showed that many people have been rioting against the cruelty of cows. So!! why can't they riot against KFC too??
