Former Ringling Bros. Circus Employee Speaks Out December 21, 2007

Posted by Pulin Modi | Permalink | Comments ( 4 ) | TrackBack

Archele Hundley, a former Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus employee, has recently teamed up with us to make a moving plea to potential circusgoers.

Check it out here and make sure you show your parents and teachers, too.

Watch more videos at peta2.com.

Among the horrors Archele witnessed were:

  • An elephant was beaten with bullhooks so severely in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 2006 that she bled profusely and cried out in pain.

  • A trainer viciously whipped a camel and punched a miniature horse in the face.

  • Trainers jabbed horses with pitchforks and gave them extremely painful "lip twists" to force the animals to obey commands.

Please get involved with the peta2 Street Team and the circus campaign.

Spread the word!

Oh my God. My parents took me to see that circus when I was little... I am never taking my brother there. This is horrible. I shudder to think how many other "cherished" childhood memories come at costs this high... it's sick.

how horrible we are as stewards down here...barbaric and cold hearted...it didnt even need to be done..their just standing around and then they go over and start hitting them for no reason...then they stop to explain how to hurt them..then they resume hitting and abusing them for NO GOOD REASON...we will all pay for the things we do...Lord have mercy on your babies

I've seen worse videos then this about the cruelty of animals in the circus. I live in Canada so the circus we get is the Shriners Circus, but they are equally as cruel, last year I was standing on the street where they had the elephants chained up and watched a man beat the elephant for taking some leaves of a tree, you can't just expect an animal like that to be put by a tree and not want to eat it. too top it all of they looked very thin, sick, and they didn't even provid any water for them. Circus's are sick and me and a group of people from my high school are protesting at the circus this Thursday.

I also convinced my mother not to take my niece to the Circus. =]
