Contest win free Twinkies Vegan Honey Cinnabons gift certificate peanut butter cups cherry cheese danishes
A few weeks ago, I had a life changing moment—I happened upon an online vegan bakery that sells Twinkies. You heard me right...vegan Twinkies! Finding the veganized version of my favorite childhood treat is almost as great a discovery as Howard Carter finding King Tut's tomb (in my humble opinion).
The magical place that I found these creamed filled yellow cakes of vegan goodness is called Vegan Honey. Not only does Vegan Honey sell Fauxstess Twinkies, they also have Cinnamon Sticky Bombs, Cherry Cheese Danishes, Giant Peanut Butter Cups, and much more! Check out everything they have to offer here.
Here is what Vegan Honey owner, Kymberlie, has to say about her delicious creations:
"Raised on a small animal sanctuary, I became an animal activist and vegan at a super young age. I have always had a sweet tooth, and my cravings for yummy baked goods like Twinkies and Cinnabons was out of control! Finally, I took some flour, a bit of sugar and began to bake all the things I wanted to eat!"
So if you have a sweet tooth like me, I highly recommend that you take part in our contest to win a $40 gift certificate to Vegan Honey!
All you have to do for a chance to win is comment below naming your favorite vegan treat.
Simple right? The contest ends November 27th, and the winner will be chosen by November 30th.
xoxo-Lara

I love Mamba vegan candies.
They're so delicious and animal friendly.
My favorite vegan treat is Oreos. Because they're really really good, and since vegans can't eat chocolate very much because a lot of cghocolate has milk in it, Oreos satisfy my chocolate cravings.
You can also get Oreos just about anywhjere so this vegan treat isn't hard to obtain if you live in a small town.
You have to love chocolate cola cupcakes with vegan icing and sprinkles, best vegan snack ever invented :)

Posted by: Michael DiMartino at November 7, 2007 3:41 PMI think that any vegan snack is delicious, just the feeling of saving millions of animals is enough for me. :D
Posted by: Jenna D. at November 7, 2007 5:00 PMI definetly have to say oreos. When I first went vegan i didnt know how much was out there so i practically lived off of them. And scince I can rarely have chocolate because its almost always made with milk, it great to be able to snack on these :]
Posted by: bridget bernadotte at November 7, 2007 5:21 PMWell, I can't find vegan treats in my grocery store, so I make my own. Here's a recipe for a vegan pumpkin pie that I made:
16 oz pumpkin
12 oz silken tofu
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp apple pie spice(we didn't have pumpkin lol)
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs cornstarch
1/3 cup vanilla soy milk
1/3 cup tofutti "cream cheese"
1 pie crust
Just blend it all together, put into the crust and bake. It's pretty tasty, but those cinnamon buns look even better =)
I love my best friend, Angelahhh's, vegan muffins. They are the grandest vegan goodie I've ever eaten. And to drink, chocolate soy milk (that my school started to sell!).
I do like the idea of any vegan treat, though. Eating vegan is saving lives.
Posted by: Christina at November 7, 2007 5:38 PMI love Stonewalls Jerkey. Not the beef ones. They are awesome.
Posted by: ashley at November 7, 2007 6:05 PMI don't usually buy any treats, but I enjoy making them myself. Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World has totally spoiled me. Cupcakes and cookies are probably my favourite to bake, but I also love decorating cakes.
Congratulations on being in Peta, Kimberlie!

Posted by: Cheryl Wasielewski at November 8, 2007 10:37 AMBanana ICEY
Im really lazy so i give mad props to people that bake, when i want a sweet treat i just whip this together!
If you love ice cream - this is a healthy vegan alternative. You always use a frozen banana as a base for vegan ice cream, but you can use any frozen fruit that you want - mango, raspberries, strawberries, peaches etc... You could also add dates, orange juice or maple syrup if you want it to be sweeter
1 frozen banana, chopped
1 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 cup ice (or frozen juice)
sugar is optional i dont use any, natures sweetness is enough
This is as easy as chucking it all in a blender and whizzing it up until it is smooth and creamy.
Gobble it down!
vegan cupcakes!!!!!!!!!!! i loves them =P
Posted by: Amber at November 8, 2007 1:08 PMI LOVE Vegan Honey! I just recieved and devoured a specialized bakery box. Mind numbing good.Is the world ending? nevermind. I am eating a whoopie pie. House burning? oh fooey, I am going to keep eating my twinkies. Car got stolen? its bad for pollution anyways. There's a peanut butter and chocolate smudged on my fingers.
So much for holiday diets.. thanks Vegan Honey!

Posted by: Bridget W at November 10, 2007 1:37 AMapple pie cookies with caramel sauce!
RECIPIE-
Equipment:
Cookie Sheet
Big Mixing bowl
A fork for mixing.
Ingredients
1 cup flour
2 crushed up Ice cream cones (this makes it crunchy like pie!)
1 Apple Chopped into small pieces
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup soymilk
1/2 cup Earthbalance or whatever soy based margarine you have in the fridge
1/2 cup unrefined sugar
1 dash of salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Melt Margarine, soymilk, and sugar in the Microwave for one minute or in a saucepan until the mix is completely dissolved. Pour in mixing bowl and add apple and Ice cream cones ( you want to add these first so the hot mixture softens up the cone and the apple). Slowly pour in flour as you mix, cloves, cinnamon, baking powder and finnally the dash of salt.
Shape into heaping cookies and bake 10- 15 minutes or until nice and crunchy brown.
Mmmm, apple pie.
Equipment:
Medium-sized saucepan.
Measuring cups/spoons.
VEGAN CARAMEL SAUCE
Ingredients
1/2 c. (1 stick) Earth Balance or other vegan margarine
2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. soy creamer or soy milk (or other non-dairy milk)
2 T. arrowroot
Directions
Combine 1/4 cup soy creamer with the arrowroot. Set aside.
Melt the Earth Balance in a saucepan. Stir in brown sugar. Add remaining 1/2 cup soy creamer. Bring liquid to a boil and boil for 4 minutes, stirring frequently.
Take the pan off the heat and immediately add arrowroot slurry. The liquid should thicken quickly.
pour over a cookie and enjoy! Or store in fridge for up to one week.
(i would recommend heating a cookie up in the microwave before eating it as they are best warm like apple pie!)

Posted by: Brandy at November 12, 2007 7:25 PMBut isn't it fun to see the disgusted look of terror on non-veg's faces when you point out the beef fat in the list of ingredients? Everybody is like, "How did you know there was beef fat in there??" My question is "Why would you not know that you're putting dead animals into your mouth?"

My favorite vegan treat is vegan cupcakes! I very rarely get to have cake unless I bake it myself, so whenever I get the time to bake a batch of cupcakes it's a real treat. I absolutely love frosting and decorating them almost as much as I love eating them! The best cupcakes I've ever made were goth cupcakes: chocolate cupcakes with orange flavored frosting, and homemade dark chocolate tombstones on top. My url is a picture of my creations :)
