Rob Zombie's a cool dude. I've always been into his music, and being the horror-movie fanatic that I am, I dig his films, too. Although I have to say horror movies never scare me, not even a little, and not even when I watch them alone in the middle of the night. With the exception of the original Halloween, which still gets me, and I'm sure it's that damn music.

So when I found out Zombie was doing a remake of Halloween I was thrilled. But I was even more excited when he agreed to speak up for turkeys and record peta2's Thanksgiving hotline message.

Zombie actually stopped eating meat when in high school after seeing a documentary about slaughterhouses. "It freaked me out, and I found it so disgusting that I stopped eating meat," he says.

People stop eating animals for various reasons, and like Mr. Zombie, it was animal footage that got to me. I had already stopped eating pigs and cows, then saw footage of chickens being raised for food and I immediately went vegan because I was just horrified by what I was seeing.

What was it that made you go veg or get involved in animal rights? Leave me a comment below by November 26 and one of you will win a shirt signed by the master of the macabre himself. If you're the winner, we'll notify you by November 30.

I actually went vegetarian because of my teacher. In one science class he made a point when talking about global warming, that at some point in the future no one will be eating meat. Many people protested. They called him a hypocrite (because he wasn't a vegetarian at the time, but in the process of becoming one), however he stood up to all of it. It was quite inspiring, and it is amazing that one person's short speech can change a few people's life styles. Before that me and him hadn't really gotten along the greatest, but I started to respect him more. Now this year I'm in the environmental club, giving speeches about vegetarianism, and trying my hardest to go the full way and be vegan. So I guess if I had decided to skip class on this one specific day because I hadn't finished my homework the night before, or even because I just didn't want to hear about the world's issues, I probably wouldn't have become a vegetarian.

I'm so glad I made the decision to become vegetarian, and even happier to discover peta2.com. It's nice to know I'm not the only vegetarian in the world, and that I really AM making a difference.

Thanks for the awesome opportunity. Rob Zombie is amazing.

At first i saw the treatment of animals at fur farms which was disturbing, so THEnn i went to the petatv website and found the slaughterhouse videos and it was so sick, and it made me stop eating cows and pigs. after this, my younger sister encouraged vegetarianism, cause she was one, so about a year ago i eventually stopped eating chicken and other meat. then in february, on valentines day :) i decided to be vegan because i felt hypocritical, and again, watching more videos on eggs and milk...soon my sister was vegan about a month after that too. so now i'm 16 and about 3 months away from my vegan anniversary :D and looking forward to tofurky thanksgiving

-I went vegetarian because one day i was on the internet and i was talking to my friend on the phone and she had been vegetarian for a while and i was arguing why she should eat meat and than it hit me, i was wrong. Eating meat used to be okay i think in the old days where you took only what you needed and you used everything and that animal was held as sacred. Now we are genetically engineering and manipulating animals and brutally slaughtering them so that we can have dollar hamburgers. Than i got onto the internet and of course i googled it, and i read about it. being a vegetarian was the obvious choice. I watched the videos and read the articles it was all disgusting. I live in the middle of corn fed, meat and potatoes farmers Iowa(sioux city) and everyone kept telling me that i was crazy but i went vegetarian and haven't been happier.

*p.s.-zombie/ozzy concert here in sioux city rocked, and i heart zombie more for knowing he is a vegan*

I just saw a documentary that a friend sent me on the North Carolina Turkey factory. That is it. I don't think I can ever eat meat again. I don't think I can ever eat again; my stomach hurts so bad. Just can't wait till my wife and her family get here for Thanksgiving dinner, it's gonna be an interesting night!

I had never really thought about factory animals as a kid, i grew up on various farms with my family. Growing up we treated our animals very kindly and almost like family. Last year i started taking action for things i didn't believe in like wearing fur. As i got involved i slowly realized just how disgusting the animal industry was, so i cut out the meat and pumped up the activism.

Ever since I was a child I had always loved animals, and never really ate meat that much. I always thought that it was cruel and wrong to kill helpless animals for our own personal gain, when it isnt even a necessary thing to do. Then as I got older, I started researching more about what they actually do to these animals on the 'farms'. I found it repulsing, and couldn't even look at meat with out being disgusted since. These videos shocked me, and saddened me all the same. They treated these animals like they were peices of shit, not live creatures with real feelings. I also found out more about animal testing, and quickly became an animal rights activist also. I've tried getting all my friends and family to go Veg like me, and have been successful in turning a few. I would do anything to help these millions of animals in need, and I hope i can turn even more people.

As a little kid I always loved animals and always did small things to help them. I never really made the connection of meat once having a life as a living breathing being that could feel pain. One day I was watching a show and someone was talking about veganism which is when I decided to look into it and what it was all about. When I discovered the horrors of factory farms and the meat industry I immediatly went vegetarian over night. Very soon after this I began getting into all parts of animal rights when I found out about the things that went on such as animal testing, circus abuse, etc. and so I began to leaflet and inform other people on these issues.

Oddly enough, it was five Thansgiving's ago that I turned veg. When my dad was 'carving' the turkey it all just hit me in one big eye-opening moment and I blurted out "that's wrong, murdering turkeys is wrong". Ever since then, I haven't ate any meat and lived up to my name as 'animal lover'.

HEEY!,
i love Rob ZOMBIE and horror movies.
I also love animals and when i started to relize that you can have a choice.. I took it. I mean every living being has a life and should have the oppourtunity to live it the way it wants to. INCLUDING ANIMALS! They shouldn't be our food. Its pretty gross how they are killed too. I just can't stand it. Horror movies are fake but eating meat is like real Horror & thats even scarier. Im so freaked out when people eat meat and drink milk and stuff. ITS GROSS! help save the world, save some lives and maybe yours. GO VEGAN! :)

I stopped eating meat a while ago, i had always loved animals, and i was doing a report about aztecs and found out that they raised dogs as livestock. That relly got to me, whats the big difference between cows and dogs? Also i have wonderful pet ducks and the thought of eating their cute little faces makes me sick. I was in a debate once and got in trouble because of my referance to how cannibalism is more sane because at least humans deserve to be eaten and we give them the death penalty anyway, lol.

well, ever since i was a little kid, ive always loved animals. ive always been against animal cruelty but never thought about how eating meat was animal cruelty. (how could i be so blind!)
when i got to high school, i met new people. one of my friends had a anti circus peta banner on her page and i went to the website. i looked around and watched the undercover investigations. ever since that day, i wanted to go vegetarian. it took me a while. but i did it. i decided to be more into animal rights and now, im doing all i can to save and protect animals.

The reason i went veg, is because of the videos i seen on this site right here.
The videos of the KFC chickens was just horrifying and completly heartbreaking.
I became ashamed to eat meat, and thats when i knew it was probably for the best to become veg.
I hated the fact that innocent animals were actually being not only killed for our pleasure, but also being tortured at the same time. Thats why i became veg. =]

I am a huge animal lover, my dogs mean the world to me and once when i was doing an aztec report, i read that they raised animals like dogs as livestock. Then it hit me, whats the huge difference between a cow and a dog? Nothing. I also convinced my freinds to go veg because of the food recalls. E. Coli? No thanks!

What made me go vegetarian? probably my mother, and smelly punks.
my mother has been a vegetarian for seventeen years. so i've had very little meat in the house most of my life. when i turned thirteen i got into punk/gothy music like rob zombie, skinny puppy, manson, and combichrist. through that music i got to meet alot of punks, who often support animal rights. they convinved me to go vegan in the end after teaching me about the wrongs of financialy supporting the diary industry. most of my punk mates are freegan vegans too but i don't think i can be bothered dumpster diving, i just go to the organics store ^.^.

oh yeah and my fave movie of all time: THE DEVIL'S REJECTS!! oo i love capt. spaulding!!

I went vegetarian a few years ago when my mom would always force me to eat meat, when i thought it was gross and wrong to be eating something that was slaughtered for no reason. I figured that if i went vegetarian she couldnt force me to eat meat anymore, then i heard about PETA and watched all the horrible videos, and that convinced me even more. Now i share my vegetarian recipes with friends to show them that its not as bad as they all think it is, and they agree its delicious!
