Dan wrote to Paris in the hopes that she'll take her time spent behind bars to think about the horrible treatment that the chickens who are raised for KFC's buckets go through. Chickens are crammed by the tens of thousands into filthy sheds where they don't even have the space to move one wing for their entire lives. Their throats are slit and many are scalded alive in feather-removal tanks while still fully conscious. Dan's asked Paris to narrate a brief video for PETA detailing KFC's abuse of birds. That would be amazing, right?
It's worked before—Dan also wrote to Martha Stewart when she was in the big house explaining what animals go through to become fur coats, and she was inspired to go fur-free and even narrated an anti-fur video for PETA.
Let's hope Dan's influence has the same effect on Paris as it did on Martha.
Anyway, I wanted to share with you that one of our awesome Street Teamers, Michael DiMartino, whom you might remember as a recent Star Street Teamer, actually wrote a story for a teen news publication and posted a bulletin about this that caught a news reporter's eye. Lo-and-behold, the story got picked up by a Miami news station, making it possible for tons of other people to hear about PETA writing to Paris!
It just goes to show how important it is to spread the word about things we're doing here at peta2. Since we don't have the type of budget other companies do to spread the word about what we're doing, we need all the help we can get to get animal rights stuff out there. Repost our bulletins, add a banner or video to your MySpace or Facebook, or even pass out leaflets in your community. We'll think you're pretty awesome, and you'll save some animals in the process. Everyone wins, right?

Paris... actually thinking?
That is a sign of the apocalypse.
Anyway, if that works, that would be great.
If not, I would not be too surprised.

It's a great idea, but I don't really think Paris Hilton would have an great impact in the KFC issue. She might be more interested in narrating for a video on cruelty towards pets. Athough, it might seem hypocritical for people that know she owns more pets than Tinkerbell.
